  1. Uuuuhhhh!!!! Nasty - but maybe so true! I actually don't eat "Wurst" much. But in Norden, my mum made fried Blutwurst with mashed potatoes and Sauerkraut - how could I say no to a loving mother? (Why have the Germans never thought of a nicer name for Blutwurst (blood banger) - Yorkshire Pudding is a so much nicer disguise for Vampirerism).
  2. The very most of the time with OFF I have been flying the Albatros variants. In dogfights, I never used any aerobatics or combat maneuvres - I closed up to the best target and shot it up - or down. Now I am flying the "Krauts vs Crumpets" Campaign again, and Jasta 6 has the Fokker Triplane now. My last fight was my first against Sopwith Camel. Now, those RNAS-Camel jockeys can show you, what an evasive maneuvre is! Since I still wanted to shoot the guy down, I had to follow (no way in an Albatros! You'd just pick a new target). The Dreidecker is pretty solid compared to the Albatros - the wings I mean. So I followed that Tommy to see, what he would come up with. He did mainly vertical downward rolls, which he pulled out of unexpectedly to the left, to the rear, just everywhere. Still though, he could not shake me off (and had invested all his altitude after short time). I had never been flying anywhere near that in an Albatros! How do you guys fly in your fights? (Please name the plane type with your report).
  3. One tip (although you may have left them on on purpose): switch off "Labels" - it just looks wrong. And then carry on - I like anything with Albatros !!
  4. Hmmmm - now you got me hungry! And I DO want what is in there - maybe I can make one myself. Here in Germany we have various small and big sausages called Blutwurst. They are like Yorkshire Pudding, and the big ones are cut in thick slices, which get fried. Drool! Think I must stop now, or I'll get a short circuit in my keyb... Brtztll!!!
  5. One should think, that a family would keep them...
  6. From the album: My finest Hours

Just when I had shot the wingtips off this Camel and wondered, if I should let him go home to tell the story, the Red Baron came along with his friends from Jasta 11 (I'm Jasta 6), had this Tommy and all the others for breakfast and - whoosh! - off they went for teat! Tch - next time I may shoot one of them down!
  7. Snoopy versus The Red Baron When you are flying the Fokker Dr. I you must only fear one thing: friends! I hunted a Sopwith Camel, had shot off his left wingtips already, and could dance like a Mosquito around him, when suddenly - Rattattattattattatta!!!!! - the Red Baron and his boys appeared, shot everything to pieces and time for lunch! Damn, I must admit, I was very close to shooting one of the bleeders down today!
  8. This is absolutely incredible to watch - in the second part you see how the ramming Bf 109 pilot as well as the Liberator crew survived an action they all would never forget in their lives. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOHRdvxEL3Q&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmSq682nh9Q&feature=related
  9. Albinos should also stay indoor in snowy weather - they could be easily overlooked by drivers in the snow.
  10. I'm sure it is - the Scotch can't be that different from the rest of us, can they? (Although - they sometimes wear skirts...?) In Germany, we have a meal called "Pfälzer Saumagen", which is meat and vegetable stuffed into and stewed in the stomach of a sow. Our former chancellor Helmut Kohl loved it. I haven't been to the Pfalz yet, but would try it; no problem.
  11. Especially the fighters and bombers operating from carriers had a straining job. Here is a videa I just found about crash landings on carriers - don't be afraid; all pilots seem to have got away from them alive. I found this, when I was searching for a film I had once seen about a squadron, who had on their return flight to the carrier been attacked by Japanese fighters. They had fought them, and now returned with fuel gauges on "Zero"! It was so tragic to watch, how most of them crashed onto the deck, or did lose all lift before touch-down and hit the carrier. The deck crew just gave up assigning anything and could only hurry to get the poor guys out of their wreckages, which they then simply pushed overboards.
  12. Once the Scots had learned that, they found hunting rather easy, I suppose! It looks rather - interesting!
  13. Thanks for that comfort, Lou - so I'll wait - their site's worth it.
  14. Exactly, Conrad! UncleAl: Or you can continue on your merry way, and stall due to no fuel at 9000 your choice. Well, you won't fall from the sky with most aircraft. I always manage to land any Albatros safely, and yesterday even the Fokker Triplane (see "Krauts vs Crumpets").
  15. Man, imagine to be sent out for such a mission... Poor souls!
  16. I didn't know it was so dangerous!
  17. As I said in the first post - I did. No answer.
  18. It is great - and so I'l provide the poem incl. a translation here: http://www.robertburns.org.uk/Assets/Poems_Songs/tamoshanter.htm
  19. After numerous dead stick landings with Albatros fighters, due to the tank being punctured by Brisfit gunners, I had the same happening today in the Fokker Dr. I Triplane - tank punctured, engine stopped, dead stick landing. Do those Brisfit gunners have a special training? Or special tank-searching-and-piercing ammo? Here are the pics: http://combatace.com/topic/37440-off-campaign-did-standard-includes-campaign-krauts-vs-crumpets/page__view__findpost__p__466479
  20. Better twice than never, gaw - the good intention counts.
  21. Thanks a lot, Widowmaker - you're a nice chap too, mate! A wooden badger??? Which "Troja" did you watch, Lou - must have been a pirate copy? Hasse Wind, I was on several websites, including this forum, before I knew and eliminated the trojan. No other site banned me.
  22. I've deleted all cookies, started the router new and tried with a new IP address - still no go. When I get to The Aerodrome main page, there is a note at the top saying the sites needs an application I have not installed. Java Runtime Environement Could that be the reason, and is it safe to install it?
  23. Shot down by the ships' AA, or by escorting fighters?
  24. So much for history - tch! Good knowledge again; thank you, Hasse Wind.
