  1. I'll take that as a warning and won't engage them Nupes with less than an Albatros D II. I have tried Halberstadt twice, but must admit, I'm not good enough yet, to make it in them. What else will change with this patch, if I may ask, Pol?
  2. Creaghorn, here's more suggestions for you: - Precision is on my joystick button 2 (the bomb drop or cannons thumb button) - Re-center is on button 4 (right of button 2) - Wingman Help is on button 2 - the right pointing finger button I found these very helpful for quick reaction in my dogfights. With "precision", your shooting may improve - it's like stiffening up your body and neck, and so you can aim a lot better.
  3. Could it be uncontrollable bloodthirst or hunting fever, that I always engage in a most risky way, and as a result, die before my time? Yesterday I made a flight with Jasta 12 in April 1918. Our four Dr.1 were superiour against a flight of five S.E.5a. But they had capital "S" on the planes, and at least two aces with them. First, I did fine. Checking overall, picking the highest flyer, and hunting him, away from the others. It took three good bursts, and his plane broke up in mid air. There, I should have climbed, and taken a good overviewing look, before I picked my next target. But, since another plane, with an ace in it, sharply crossed my flight path, I went after him like mad! Must get him! Now I know, he only just lured me to follow him right into a trap of two other pilots, who shot me up faster than I could shout "Dammit!" I'm still waiting for the day, when I manage to get a good carreer going, with a nice kill tally, and many flight hours. But honestly - the more I think about it, the more I find the MvR style boring (Lol!) Is there anyone here, who flies with 100 % realism and without tricks, who has achieved a kill tally of 16 victories yet, and still has this pilot alive ?
  4. That looks so great, CATCH - wish, my rig was already uprated. Then I'll make a "counterstrike vid" and toast some crumpets. Your HollyGerman name was really over the top, old boy! Here's a nasty name you might use: Franz Ferdinand von Forunkelstein. Sounds a bit more believable. (a Forunkel is a wart - so really unpleasant). Make more vids, please (perhaps without shooting my beloved Albs - what about D VIIs - they are ugly).
  5. Yes, forgot the Halby - thanks, Hassewind - corrected! What do you mean, Jammer? My advice? It's just an idea for newcomers, to pick planes first, that are easier to fly and can be more successful in combat. Hi, Catfish When I get missions deep into enemy terrain, I often choose "Alternate flight", to get one, were I remain near the frontline at least. That's no cheating, cause, as you said: fighters didn't go into the enemy terrain. It's one thing you can do for survival, as you're mostly getting jumped on, outnumbered, from high above.
  6. Jim, I forgot one important thing. There is a hotkey called "precision" - put that on an easy to reach thumb button. You press "precision" short before you want to shoot. It makes your head turns slower, as if you stiffened up. So, checking six is bad with it, but shooting more precise. After shooting, you press it again, and can yaw fast again.
  7. No problems; works fine! It only picks itself some data off the CFS3 DVD (so CFS3 must not be installed anymore), and then installs orderly in one neat "Over Flanders Fields" folder.
  8. My advice is, to use the German planes in an order of descending quality. You start with pilots in the D VII or D VII F (best overall fighter), then change to the Fokker Dr.1 (best tight turner), after that you do the Albvatros D II or III - as early as possible! Then I'd pick the D V, D Va or D Va 200; then the Pfalz D III, the Halberstadt, and last the Eindecker. I'm working on a time scheme for the German planes, that will show the earliest availability for each plane, and the Jasta, were to find it.
  9. Hi, Rickity Great you got it, and running. If you can tell me how to find the profile data, then I could send you mine. I started from "Combat", but made it much more aggressive rearwards. So, after 90°, the head turns much faster, to check the six. Have fun! Olham PS: and we expect movies!
  10. Oh yes!..We don't do Sadness or Dissatisfaction here old boy!...That was Sim Outhouse! Here, we are all happy people!!! Beavis + Butthead style: Oh yes! Huh!Huh! Huh! So happy!!! Just got shreddered by S.E.5 aces, but I'm happy, it was only a "game". Happyyy!!! Huh! Huh!
  11. There should be something like "groundfire" in the workshop; put that on "normal" or "easy" for the beginning. The sim is hard enough without them being cracks. Also, don't fly straight. You best zig zag on your way - that helps a lot!
  12. Zoomzoom, I feel with you. I had nothing but trouble, setting everything up new again, after messing with my graphic card. Now, that everything worked again, I thought I'd start a new Campaign with a superb war plane- the Fokker Dr. 1. But at 7.000 it behaved just strange; stalled so easy, that I found it hard to get behind the S.E.5as. But I got to grips with it after short time, and plastered one (marked with a white capital "B" - any- one knows, who they were?) twice. But what happened next? Two from flight one jumped on the descending plane and shot it to pieces. Before I could reach any other target: the same. They just ate them! After some miles, we met more from this Squadron. This time, whilst trying to catch up from stalling, I got shot up by at least two of them! I was short before tearing down a wall or kick my rig out the window! Think, I'll go and do some jogging now.
  13. There's so much more in that site. All the British airforce, and Luftwaffe museums etc. And the Lysander may look ugly to us, but maybe their pilots saw that different. Pilots are more practical people, I'd say, and find a plane beautiful, whe it behaves beutiful. Right, WomenFly2?
  14. My admiration and respect for those men, who fought Fashism alone, or with only a handful of comrades. Most of all soldiers, they had to fight the enemy AND their own fears. They were heroes, as much as a man can be a heroe. So I'd like to contribute a link to an interesting website, and a picture. http://www.bredow-web.de/RAF_Museum/Westla...d_lysander.html
  15. Hi, MK2 Can we post more than one skin? Cause I'd find it hard to pick out the best one; I have made several ones I like for myself. Thanks, Olham
  16. Thank you, Shredward - that might have been him. Dutch - do you mean the dogfight against Guynemer, or is there more about Udet?
  17. Great link, Creaghorn. Just when I was told by my mother, that my father had known some Jeschonneks; one of them was a fighter pilot in WW1 and had known Ernst Udet. I found three here, and will research for the first name now. Thanks for posting!
  18. Mmuahahahaaaa!!! Zeese crumpets are flyink der high tech Camels, but don't even know how to handl zeire controlls. But vott vill you expect from people, who drive on ze wrong sside of ze street!
  19. That's a threatening picture of a devil - like an ancient caveman's painting! Imagine that on a white or yellow fuselage! There is a white Albatros D V or D Va, I think; and yellow ones too. If they have other signs on already, I try to find another part of the fuselage, that is empty, copy a patch out, and put it in were to cover the undesired sign. Just thought of your devil, on a white fuselage, with a black tail (can be copied from another plane), and a red nose (also to be copied). Try to get a program, that can do that, and let it rock, Beanie!
  20. A design with stripes, I'm working on. But not yet what I want it like. It's difficult, as you work on an "unfolded" skin, to get the lining right.
  21. Great, you got it with the screens, Creaghorn! Here's my latest kill - the Twin Gun Tripe of Collishaw. He preferred to jump to death. The skin is my latest test version of an Albatros design, but not yet what I want.
  22. Creaghorn, best to check your "controls" menue for the key for "screenshots" - mine is F12, but maybe I changed that. You also can assign another key there. The make a screenshot, and look also at C: eigen dateien > eigen bilder (But I think, it should be in the CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder). Grüsse! Olham
  23. Although I could really do very well with that new monitor myself, I ask all to read the very first sticky thread, and take part in the contest. Come on!
  24. It has happened to a (real life) female parachute glider. She was lifted up so high, she lost conciousness. She survived it though; woke up, when she was descending. A colleague though, died in the same incident.
  25. Hey, Creaghorn Die Bilder sind auf C:eigene Dateien; da ist ein Folder der Sim irgendwo, und da sind sie drin. Gruß. Olham
