  1. Recently purchased that book through www.bookdepository.co.uk They deliver free to Canada and U.S.and are very prompt The book is definitely a great read and the only one I have read from the german side other than Richthofen's book Best Regards
  2. Geez, you know, that might just be next!! Oh well, I guess I better set up my game camera so I have some evidence if such a thing were to happen
  3. I think I have been spending too much time playing OFF this year. I'm starting to find it affecting my everyday life and insidiously inserting itself into my everyday thoughts! I was sitting at my dinner table looking out over my back yard watching some birds feeding and noticing the gentle breeze moving a neighbours flag, when all of a sudden without warning a huge gust of wind came along and blew my deck chairs across the deck and made such a noise I could hear it from inside the house. As fast as it came, it disappeared and as I stepped out on the deck to survey any damage I looked at the sky and there was no trace of anything abnormal in the sky. I went back inside and sat down at the table and pondered "WHAT IF"! What if I had been about to land my camel after a great mission when that gust of wind came along without warning! What if I had Olham's Alb in my sights and was just about to squeeze the trigger! What if I had been sitting on a frail stool at the latrine!.....the thought ran on!! Just goes to show, you never know what awaits you. When everything is calm, all hell can break loose. Batten down the hatches fellows, there may be a big blow coming!
  4. Olham /JFM; I have been following this thread and have little expertise in these aircraft variants. Do you know if these variants were identified somehow by markings or numerals of some sort. It would be helpful to actually see photos of these variants to help identify that which you speak of. Have a great day folks!
  5. I just don't understand why they can't put the force feedback into the newer sticks of today. I love that feature as it really adds realism.
  6. Naw!!! That would ruin the effect of adrenalin flow!!
  7. Hi Olham; I read your post with interest! I use the MS Force Feedback 2 stick and I was wondering if you have ever had experience with this stick. I'm interested in your comparative views on these two sticks with respect the toe force feedback feature simulation. You indicated that your stick is spring loaded and I was wondering if the spring loaded force is modified during flight with the characteristics of the aircraft. I hope I have explained myself properly. Best Regards;
  8. I have to side with Hellshade on this. I don't want it until it is complete and the Dev's are happy with it. All core functionality in place! Enough said.
  9. Ah come on guys!! It's obvious Pol was just trying to impress us with the graphics improvements to air collisions in WOFF. Right Pol??
  10. Thanks for the info Lothar, it is appreciated!
  11. Hi Folks; I would like to know where the settings in workshop are stored. Are they in an editable file or in the registry? Any help would be appreciated. Best Regards;
  12. Olham; I'm already working on it. I will post them as I complete each aircraft type for critique/correction.
  13. I agree with whiteknight! Thanks for the post Olham
  14. That's good to know. I thought that maybe I was suffering from early Alsheimers!! Thanks OLham; You gave me that advice before regarding IRFANVIEW, and I do use it. Thanks again!
  15. Thanks folks, for your educated explanation! Unfortunately your reply raises another question. The second aircraft you say is Jasta 36, actually showed as "Jasta 18" when I had labels turned on, unfortunately I turned labels off when I did the screen capture so I can't prove it to you now. I guess this could be some kind of strange error or I am totally mistaken. I don't suspect the later, as I had stopped flight each time I downed an aircraft so I could record the lat, lon, time, and aircraft specs from the label display. I turn on labels to confirm and assist my identification as I am not skilled enough yet to rely on my recognition only. It's no wonder I couldn't find the skins in the skins folder, as I was looking for Jasta 18 DV's. The "mission.xml" confirms that "Klein" was in the Jasta 18 flight of DIII(OAW). It also confirms that Jasta 36 had 4 DV's launched (which I downed and recorded as Jasta 18 based on the in flight labels). Thanks a lot for your response, it is appreciated. I will be paying more attention in future to see if this happens again. I
  16. I just flew a mission from my base in Leffrinckocke to Calais and ran into two flights of DV's over calais. Both showed as Jasta 18 with labels on but I can't seem to locate the skin in OFF for either of them. Could use some help to identify what skin they are from. Best Regards;
  17. Olham; Can you provide me with a higher resolution of that photo. You mention ALB DIII number "12" but I can't make out the numbers on the posted photo
  18. Olham; I am probably wrong in saying I think it is Gerhard Hubrich! I just noticed that there is a triangle surrounding the white cirlce on the aircraft in the photo. I didn't see the triangle when I first looked at it. Hubrich didn't have a triangle on his craft as far as I know. Identification of these aircraft markings is proving to be very challenging for me.
  19. I believe the fourth plane from the left belongs to "Gerhard Hubrich". His personal insignia was a yellow chicken breaking through a white egg on a blue background. Apparently this was a reference to his nickname of "kuchen," which means "chicken" in German. Still researching the others.
  20. AHHHH! I See! The only frost bite you are in danger of will come from the ice in your glass!!
  21. Great to hear from you Lou; If you are ever in my neck of the woods, you will be in luck, otherwise I can only offer you a virtual "Single Malt" of impeccable quality from my cellar !
  22. I'm interested. I don't use the "Office/OFFbase" product
  23. This is somewhat off topic here but an amazing video worth watching if you haven't yet seen it. http://ca.screen.yah...-071500395.html
  24. OOOO!! Do you suppose I could actually hang out right behind all those devs, and get a look at WOFF first hand before the release???? What an incentive!!!
  25. My only concern is that if I die before it is released, how do I get it sent to whereever my spirit lies??
