Calling Wolf257!
WOLF257 replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Prop Heads Forum
The needle node names are Coolant_Temp_01 and Coolant_Temp_02. The gauges are just painted on the panel, there isn't a 3D model. WOLF -
Prop-Head Modding and 3d Discussion
WOLF257 replied to KnightWolf45's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Prop Heads Forum
With the exception of the P-51's my planes are intentionally low poly model. The main reason being that I hate slide shows and you can usually get a lot of my planes in your field of view without killing your framerates. I don't build screenshot models, if I can look out of my cockpit and I.D. the other plane then I've done what I set out to do. I used a generic pit for several of the planes because I either didn't have good drawings to work from or I simply didn't feel like building a pit. The P-51D, P-47's, P-38, Corsair, Bf109G and the Fw190's have a real cockpit but I also didn't go completely insane on any of them other than the P-51 because the pit can kill your framerates too. I used AD's pits for my Ki-27, Ki-43 and N1K2 because they were better than anything I could have built and he was kind enough to let me use them. I've got some other planes and some updated models for existing planes in the works but they'll have to wait till real life gives me some time. Forgot some... WOLF -

Hell, I'd put money on the iceage showing up before his pit does. WOLF -

100% Dixie. Is General Lee your grandfather?! Born, raised and spent most of my life in Alabama so it's fitting. WOLF

It could be if the CVN was carrying attack helos rather than jets. I think a Cobra or Apache would be just the thing to clean the clock of said men in thier 20 foot boat. FFAR's and Hellfires for the larger pirate boats. Would probably be cheaper to use one of those Marine Amphib. Assault Ships that's basically a converted Escort carrier. They are already set up to handle helos. Another potential solution would be the old Q-Ship concept, that could prove amusing, at least to the people manning the weapons systems on the Q-Ship. Might put a damper on the pirates to some extent to not know if their entended target is actually a freighter or if it's something that's going to hand them their ass if they get within range. But unfortunately I agree with the majority, if politicians are envolved it will be a wasted effort. WOLF

2. - When it appears that you have killed the monster, NEVER check to see if it's really dead. The proper proceedure here would be to shoot it at least 5 more times and then hit it in the crotch with a well seasoned hickory axe handle. That way if it isn't dead yet, at the very least it probably won't be able to get up and chase you for quite some time. WOLF

P-51D-30 problems
WOLF257 replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The guns on the P-51 already converge between 300 and 350 yards or slightly more than .1 nautical mile. I set them that way when I built the plane but if you want the convergance to be something different change the following... Left Outboard Gun [LeftGun1] SystemType=FIXED_GUN GunTypeName=50CAL_M2 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN MuzzlePosition=-2.46,0.785,-0.514 LightPosition=-2.46,0.785,-0.514 AimAngles=0.5,0.0,0.0<<<<< this indicates that this gun is angled towards the right .5 degrees MaxAmmo=270 EjectShells=TRUE EjectPosition= -2.46,-0.250,-0.675 EjectVelocity= 0.0,0.0,-2.0 MinExtentPosition= MaxExtentPosition= The right side guns have a negative number on the AimAngle to indicate that the gun is angled to the left. Increase this number to bring the convergance in closer. As far as SAM's go, just stay down in the weeds, SAM's won't track or guide below a certain altitude. Also, any SAM operator stupid enough to give himself away to an armed target he has no hope of hitting deserves the several hundred rounds of .50cal ammo I'm gonna give him. WOLF -
Either somebody at SimHQ is trying to be funny for April Fool's Day or they got hacked. WOLF

WOLF's WWII aircraft pack
WOLF257 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: WOLF's WWII aircraft pack File Submitter: WOLF257 File Submitted: 17 Mar 2007 File Updated: 11 Jul 2009 File Category: Allied Fighters READ-ME! This is an inclusive read-me file for the WWII Aircraft pack. Unzip the pack to your Objects folder. Make sure you have a Nations.ini file that has the entries for Nazi Germany and Japanese Empire or these planes will make your game crash. These planes run fine on my system and several dissimilar test systems so if you have problems with them, you're on your own. They are provided as-is with no support what-so-ever. If you find you don't like them, that's what the Delete button is for. There will be no changes, improvements, or upgrades to them EVER so don't even bother asking. The skin templates will be uploaded as a pack just like the planes. You are free to repaint the planes and do with the skins you create as you please. YOU ARE NOT FREE TO REDISTRIBUTE THESE PLANES IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, FORM, OR FASHION. YOU ARE DAMN WELL NOT FREE TO CHARGE FOR THEM OR TRY TO MAKE MONEY WITH THEM IN ANY MANNER. WOLF CREDITS:THANKS ArmourDave for allowing me to use his Zero cockpit. Major Lee for several excellent P-47D-20 skins, loading and hanger screens. Wrench for several really really nice hanger screens. Click here to download this file -
