To be honest im on a small budget for a new graphics card due to spending alot of money at Christmas on my kids so the cheaper the card the better, i was looking at the "NVIDIA GT240 / 1GB / PCI Express 2.0" which is about £80 new. Maybe later in the year I may be able to afford a bigger upgrade!! Im hoping somone on the forum has the GT240 and will be able to review the GT240 on SF2 as theres nothing on Google about running SF2 with this card. I know they say "You get what you pay for" but im happy with my graphics at the moment its just the framerates that i am concerned with whenever I fly over Hanoi.

do you think it may be worth while for me to upgrade to Windows 7 too if I was to go for this graphics card to take advantage of DX10 as im running DX9c at the moment or would my system require more upgrades, it would be nice to just upgrade my graphics card and be done there.

so i need a 1GB graphics card then? Do you have any recomendations on cards, naturally I will google cards to find a good one, but im open to reviews from other flyers to upgrade my system, and thanks Fubar for taking the time out to answer my post, much appreciated.

Hi guys, im looking to improve my framerates, i just did a campaign mission over Hanoi and my framerates slowed down beyond belief, its not happened before but the amount of aircraft and SAMs flying about during Linebacker II almost froze my game, Ive been using Nhancer with recommended settings from a forum on this site but it hasnt helped and without Nhancer I have the same results. These are my computer specs (this pc is set up for SF2 and SF2 only, I run nothing else on this system AMD 4400 Dual Core Processor 4GB RAM 500GB Hard Drive (450GB Free) Windows XP Nvidia 8800GTS 250MB Graphics Card TrackIR5 Headset System I have a merged install with SF2 V/I/E, the only major mod i have is starkys Green Hell3, no other supermods etc installed. I mostly fly default aircraft 90% of the time. Any help greatly appreciated as I am a recent recruit to the SF2 series after 6 hardcore years of FS2004.

Hi team, i need a little advice with regards to decals, I know they go into the decals folder in the main mod folder, I have downloaded several aircraft from some of the talented guys on this site but some of my aircraft dont show up with decals, I am running a merged install of SF2 with V/I/E installed, no supermods installed. An example:- RAF Desert colour Phantom FGR4 using it for a missio over Isreal shows up as plain desert coloured F4 with no decals??? any ideas??

Hi guys, im looking for a good terrain to mod my stock SF2 Europe, i havent got the expansion packs i have a merged installation with SF2E/I/V. Ive Installed the GH3 terrain for Vietnam which is excellent and I also installed Piecemeals airfield mod for Vietnam so im looking for a good terrain mod for Europe. I have browsed the files but I cant find anything for a stock installation of Europe??

where is the campaigns folder or do we have to create one and if so where do we create it? many thanks

im with Storm and Spectre, I always land, park up and open up the bubble:cool: , and if its been a particulaly good mission I will crack open a beer in the hangar with some Hendrix playing thanks to the awesome vietnam sounds mod!!

Ive just installed GH3 into my stock SFV, ive only been running this game for 2 weeks since leaving FS2004 after 6 years and your vietnam terrain is better than anything I ever flew over in FS2004, great work Stary, real good quality detail:- im pretty sure I even saw some monkey poo on the jungle floor when i flew over in my A4

Is there a mod to open and close the cockpit, ive seen a few cockpits open in some screenshots but these may be AI aircraft?

I very much doubt that Iran would know if a predator or any other top of the range "drone" was flying around thier airspace, its more than likely some soldiers christmas remote control airplane from ebay has buggered off on its own bearing as it cost £10 from China and headed off over Iran. Is this what they claim to have shot down but with no evidence????? Or was it an "Ebay special" rogue drone belonging to Private Smith currently serving in Northern Afganistan???? I am pretty sure had Iran shot down anything belonging to the West there would be TV camera's all over it like "fat kids on cake" and pieces of the so called wreckage would be splattered all over Al Jazeera TV and Arab-E-Bay as we speak!!!

Hi team, okay so I bought SF2 I/E/V last week and so far I am more than impressed with my purchases, i have been flight simming for over 25 years now and this is the best series I have tried. I have added a few mods to my SF2 games but so far only aircraft but after looking through the larger mods on this site there is alot to chose from but most of them require a fresh install of the stock game, which is where I am at the moment. So I am looking for some advice on the best "stable" mod/expansions to use with Europe/Isreal/Vietnam and the reasons why, kind of like a mini review from you guys "the experts" out there. I am more than happy how to install the mods as I have spent many hours looking at the readme files and I was an expert at modding FS2004 so I'm not a novice when it comes to adding/changing game files. Hit me with your comments guys

LT seems like you have a real stuggle with the booze my man, I too suffer from needing a few beers to chill in the evening, im quite lucky though as "Her Majesty" sends me away on her submarines to dry out on long boring patrols, thus allowing me to extend my life expectancy so long as we dont go ramming into any of Ivans boats while out on patrol, only problem I have is when I get back from a patrol I need a real good session of beer and cigarettes to get over the s**t we just did on patrol. , im sure your American submariners are the same. Maybe thats why I have been flight simming for the last 20 years, at least I can do somthing for the military that involves enjoyment and beer at the same time without risking my shipmates, at the end of the day the only people I am hurting is Ivan and Ho Chi Mins band of merry men.
