Wrench, I have copied and pasted the HFD and TLD files to my Isreal terrain, is there anything else I need to copy. Basically I want to fly missions from Cyprus against Syria, I realise Syrian MiGs cant reach Akrotiri which fine, the more accurate the better. At present my game seems to crash on the loading screen if I attempt to make Akrotiri my take off base???

hello mate, I was a Rookie to SF2 having only downloaded SF2 V/I/E from Thirdwire about 5 weeks ago. The best advice for you is the same as I got check this link, the guys on this site really know what they are talking about, but you need to learn the game first, and when you learn the game, its just a small tip of whats about to unfold if you enjoy what you have just dowloaded from Thridwire:- My linkhttp://combatace.com/topic/61517-introduction/page__p__463316__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=463316 please read up, i did and I am really gratefull at the support I have got from some of the guys on this site, enjoy -
From his uniform I see he is Australian SAS, a special forces trooper and quite obviously a hero. The Australian SAS have been involved in many conflicts around the world and won a number of medals, including operations in Vietnam, Borneo, Iraq. The Australian SAS Regiment are one of the top elite special forces regiments of the world today. Congratulations Cpl Benjamin Roberts-Smith Thanks Slartibartfast for bringing this story to my atention.

Impressions of a Pilot Flight is freedom in its purest form, To dance with the clouds which follow a storm; To roll and glide, to wheel and spin, To feel the joy that swells within; To leave the earth with its troubles and fly, And know the warmth of a clear spring sky; Then back to earth at the end of a day, Released from the tensions which melted away. Should my end come while I am in flight, Whether brightest day or darkest night; Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain, Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again; For each of us is created to die, And within me I know, I was born to fly. by "Gary Claud Stokor" A nice collection of words i thought worth sharing

i dont know if it still is, i remember watching the lightnings and phantoms on the range from my school back in 85, impressive sight. I would not like to be the pilot flying the canberra towing the target with a bunch of Phantoms chasing him though, balls of steel for that job!! that sounds awesome pureblue, if you need a beta tester knock on my door i'd love to try it out -

SF2 a time machine?

i prefered photo recon missions over the North Cape rather than strike missions, i became quite an ace at recon missions, where as my strike missions would often end in failure:- Post Recon Mission Post Strike Missions -
I noticed that in SF2 Isreal there is no air base in Cyprus although Cyprus is on the map. Historically RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus has played a pivotal role in the middle east since the 1950's till present day. I lived there from 1984-1987 and saw alot of air activity including the CIA U2 which was based there and would fly recon missions over Syria, Isreal, Egypt, Libya and so on, I also saw the F111's land to refuel after bombing Libya in 1986 (Operation El dorado). I think it would be great if a modder could place an air base on the island, it would make SF2 Isreal more historically accurate, as the Royal Air Force flew missions from here during the Suez Crisis, the Yom Kippur War, Gulf War 1 & 2 as did the US Air Force for the latter conflicts. Reference Sources RAF Akrotiri on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia....ki/RAF_Akrotiri Operation El Dorado http://en.wikipedia....ombing_of_Libya U2 Spyflights over Lebanon http://www.buzzbox.c...usterId=2597161 U2 Spyflights during Yom Kippur http://www.guardian....ndition-torture RAF Akrotiri CIA Factbook https://www.cia.gov/...ok/geos/ax.html U2 taking off from Akrotiri Canberra's Vulcans at Akrotiri I think you might agree that by placing an air base at Cyprus for SF2 Isreal opens up alot of possibilities for many more custom missions??? However I am no where near good enough to create this mod so hopefully some other talented map modding guru will take the idea on if theres enough intrest??

in my 20 years of service I have found that the Russians are the hardest drinking sailors in the world, you do not want to end up in a bar with these guys if you need to be home the next day, they are crazy, a great laugh and they have my utmost respect but these guys could drink a shark under the table!!!!

Firstly I would store it in a nice big garage i would have built for it with the inside of the garage decorated with scenes of aerial combat through the decades. Secondly I would have the cockpit modded out with screens inside and turn into my own private flight simulator, I would then divorce my wife and pack my kids off to bording school so I wouldnt be interupted!! I would then build a small bar at the rear of the garage so fellow desktop pilots could come over and share the experience, invites are in the post if i win the lottery:salute:

this weekend im going to use my mission editor to create all the Libya and Central Europe missions from F19 Stealth Fighter, I may post some screenshots if anyone is interested. I have just ordered the Hotas joystick and throttle too so that will make my new experience in the F19 completely different to what was like 23 years ago:- 1988 + + 2011 + +
