A pilot who knows well F-15, F-16, and Mig-29
Rexor replied to Rexor's topic in Military and General Aviation
So, basically you had already posted this article ...................... I couldn't know. Yeah, he had slightly changed his opinion about the F-35. Since different features, mainly avionics, of F-22 and F-35 are still classified, perhaps not even he can have an accurate understanding of the situation. (I also have the impression that the F-35 is really a trap in close dogfight). -
Lt. Col. Fred "Spanky" Clifton gives us detailed informations about the performance of these fighters. And his opinion on the current situation of the air forces. (The first half is on his training, some might find it boring ........) (Excuse me Lt. Col. Fred Clifton ). http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/how-to-win-in-a-dogfight-stories-from-a-pilot-who-flew-1682723379

RWR Detection Of AHM
Rexor replied to Rexor's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah, understood. Nice explanation, Caesar. (I already knew the behaviour of the AHM, but it's good for people who doesn't know). PFunk : yeah, I hate "surprises", perhaps I'll convert all AHM missiles to SAHM.* *Does somebody already done this ???? Did it worked well ???? BTW : Sorry for my english. If someone knows about a good english-italian course, please tell me. (I forgot a lot in recent years). -
RWR Symbology
Rexor replied to Fubar512's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
I tried to use this RWR symbology on EASY AVIONICS in SF2, but it didn't work. Any idea to how to make it work ? -
Wow, .... I thought to know pretty much all about the Tomcat, but this video shows really interesting details of the Tom feline. What a wonderful machine it was !!!

Yeah, ...... I really like personality like Ran Ronen, ......................and also Robin Olds ! I have recently seen a documentary about Olds, ......... yes he was more than "someone", ..... as I hurriedly defined him in a post some months ago .................. ( .... Anyway, it was a really silly topic .......... because men like Gen. Patton, Colonel John R. Boyd, Gen: R. Olds, Chuck Norris or "Sly" Stallone are all great men, one in a branch, one in other .... ).

I have found these two videos about dogfight maneuvers. They are about basic manuevers ..... but I think more than someone will be interested to watch them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5laDQe0w6w ..... And because we are talking about videos .... I'll add one of my favorite videos about dogfights : Dogfight of the Middle East :

Thanks for the info .................... an interesting deepening ......................... Carrier landing at night = Nightmare ! But, for what I know (... I'm not a fighter pilot ..), the G force tolerance of an untrained average human being is more than 3.5 G, at least 5 ; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-force Also I have recently saw a video of a jet-fighter enthusiast, who had never flown, who paid for a flight in the back seat of a Russian (private) Mig-29 two-seater, reaching several times more than 7 G. The max G recorded was 8 G. He didn't seem to strive hard, but anyway he lost consciousness once. ( The guy was not particularly strong, he was not a macho ........... ). BTW : Congratulation for your job ! Thanks for your service in defense of the free world !

Modding guns
Rexor replied to Rexor's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Thanks. But with all this efforts ....................... perhaps it is more fast if I study how to build a real new faster and more precise cannon for real, build the prototype, test it, perfect it, patent it, and try to sell it to the Air Forces of the free world, ................ and make a lot of money ........ lol. -
Blue, yellow, red messages
Rexor replied to Rexor's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
However, the best thing would be if, both tower and fellows, as probably is in real life, say your name before the message. As, for ex. : << Cowboy 11, bandits, 2 right o'clock, 50 miles >> << Cowboy 11, you got a bandit at your six o'clock >> << Cowboy 11, missile inbound >> etc. ... -
The official response was mainly because the YF-22 was more manoeuvrable, .......... and watching the two prototypes I also have this impression ...

Blue, yellow, red messages
Rexor replied to Rexor's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
.... I could call it a bug, because I don't see the reason why "Missile inbound" and "It's firing" direct to you are red, but "You got a bandit at your six o'clock" instead should be different. .... If I were the director of Third Wire, I would do a patch to correct this. -
I know that a blue messages means that is directed to another friendly squadron, yellow at someone else in your squadron, and red directly to you. But I had NEVER read "You got a bandit at your six o'clock" (... or similar) in red, only always in yellow. But somentimes it's followed by "It's firing" in red. This makes me think that some "You got a bandit at your six o'clock" were obviously directed at me, even though they were in yellow. Is it right ?
