  1. Make sure you have removed all ReShade files from both your mod folders and Strike Fighters 2, with the latest version of ReShade no manual install is needed, then use the Mediator, it automatically adds the relevant files to the main directory of the game executable. Regarding AA, I have it set to 2, while by default it is set by ThirdWire to 4.
  2. KB3022345

Sorry to hear that, maybe Microsoft is doing everything to make Windows 7 users to upgrade to Windows 10. Just joking, in the past I have encountered some faulty updates with Windows 7.
  3. If you can, I'd suggest trying it, they have done lots of improvements since the old beta versions. You can even use a new screenshot feature with the software, you can select a .jpeg and so you can have a quick preview of the preset settings being applied to the image, the result is pretty close to what it's going to be ingame. Strange, but I had some problems with old presets, they won't work on the new and latest package, you have to create new presets using Mediator.exe. Moreover, try it with both DirectX9 and DirectX10 modes. EDIT: I've attached my (not so great) preset. Try if it works. StrikeFighters.zip
  4. Well, actually my preset does kill some framerates (not many though), because I have a very weak video card. If you guys are interested, I might post a download for my preset, I can share the preset with no problem. Anyway these are the options that are currently enabled in my preset: CURVES - SweetFX FILMICPASS - SweetFX FILMGRAIN - SweetFX ADAPTIVESHARPEN - CustomFX HDR - SweetFX WATCHDOGS_TONEMAP - CustomFX GAUSS - CustomFX
  5. Stary, are you talking about ReShade? Because in fact it took me a while to figure out how to make it work, it's pretty easy with the latest package available at the site, you select the mod executable (for instance StrikeFighters2 Europe.exe) then you can either choice DirectX 9 or DirectX10/11 rendering modes, both work very well, but the DirectX 10 option enables more effects, and they work even when you are not using stock ThirdWire DirectX 10 shaders (meaning you have the effects at the game's menu not set to Unlimited)
  6. Thank you for the info, russouk2004. Maybe I should wait for a Windows 10 compatible version, the last one is for Windows 8.
  7. Kim-Jong-Un Tweets out

Ahaha, I can't stop laughing at these tweets. We'd better not to make fun of him, he might attack us with a modern, recently developed fleet of MiG-17s and T-34 tanks.
  8. Sukhoi T-50 video

    Impressive maneuvers! Poor F-35s...
  9. EF-2000 Eurofighter Typhoon "BETA" Pack

I was looking forward to this release, congrats ace888! You did a very fine job.
  10. Unfortunately as far as I can remember this is a known bug of the game that was not fixed by the latest patches.
  11. I haven't tried that campaign yet, but you may be right, there is a reason why it always ends in a failure, because after all it's a withdrawal, and the campaign is scripted so that the Soviets control all of Norway, which by default is meant to be under Blue Side control. I might be wrong though.
  12. No problem, Baltika, real life comes first. I had to stop a WIP terrain of mine too, when I have time I'll resume my work at it. Anyway I think I can say we at CombatACE are grateful for your terrain works, terrain making is very time comsuming. FRPignon, you are making very nice progress with these terrains, it's amazing, however let me say I don't like the HFD you are using for the Balkan terrain too much. You've managed to update it so now it's nice looking and all, it just misses much of (my) Italy and the southern Balkan countries, unlike the WIP by Baltika. If you guys could join the two projects together, it would be a dream. Anyway, it is by no means a request, I've never contributed so much to CombatACE so I'm in no position to make one. Just take it as a suggestion.
  13. eburger68, I was taking a look at the package again and noticed that the terrain uses only my updated .TFD, while I have an updated .HFD which I may have forgot to sent to you. Most likely the new HFD has fixed some airbases which were not flattened. If you plan to update, PM me and I'll find a way to send it to you (I can't upload it as an attachement, the file is pretty big even when compressed).
  14. Grumman F7F Tigercat cockpits pack

It may be "slightly buggy" but it's always Stary's quality stuff.
  15. I don't want to hijack the thread's main question, but regarding those cleaners, I had serious problems with WiseCare 365 v3.74, it corrupted the whole taskbar and Microsoft Edge (ex Internet Explorer), meaning I couldn't open them anymore, this was a serious problem as the start menu became completely inaccessible. I had to do a system restore, so I suggest to wait until such programs are officially Win10 compatible. Regarding the thread, I haven't tried SF2 yet, I might post later my results too.
  16. This is strange, I suggest changing the extension in the LOD from jpg to bmp, you can always keep the texture in jpg format though, the game should read it anyway.
  17. My congratulations to eburger68 for another well put package, and of course many thanks to the CombatACE members who contributed. I can confirm the Mirage double fuel tanks bug with the latest SF2 patch, indeed it's the data.ini
  18. In theory I'd say yes, of course sounds do work without their own soundlist ini entry, but some issues could occur, I think.
  19. Looking forward to it, seems very promising, tiles are good considering they are generic for such a wide area, good job. I remember a rather old thread where Baltika was showing updates of his own Balkan terrain, but no updates recently, anyway IIRC Brain32 once gave him some hi-res tiles made from satellite images of the Balkans, maybe you can ask if someone has those, those tile templates could be useful at a later stage.
  20. RA-5C Vigilante Over Vietnam

Great package, the RA-5C was missing many units. Good job, yakarov79.
  21. F-16A Block 15 Air Defense Fighter (ADF)

Great job, dtmdragon, this was indeed a necessary update. The other F-16s from TMF could really use some updates like this.
  22. Novalogic Flight Sim reviews/comparison?

Speaking of gameplay, these sims are rather bland and arcadish to some extent, but campaigns are particular, while not really dynamic since each mission is scripted, if you or the AI destroys something (buildings or air assets, SAM sites and so on), you will notice these changes in the next missions. F-16 MRF and MiG-29 Fulcrum use old Glide hardware acceleration/rendering, while F-22 Lightning 3 has now received a recent beta patch that you can find at Novalogic's site (i discovered it by chance) which adds 1080p resolution and improved hardware rendering. F-22 Lightining 3 also has some missions with nuclear weapons, and unlike the first two titles (F-16/MiG-29) it has background music during missions, although it's always the same. Voice-acting is also much better than the other titles. MiG-29 could be interesting since it has full Russian voice-acting, but with the option of enabling English audio. If they don't cost much, the three titles are indeed nice for an avid old school gamer, campaigns are scripted with nice briefings and mostly believable/enjoyable storyline. I only criticize the fact that sometimes in missions you encounter enemy Rafales, Typhoons, Tomcats (well the Iranians have those), and aircraft that in reality were never so largely exported to other countries. These games shouldn't support online features anymore, but the beta patch for F-22 L3 recently bug fixed multiplayer functions, and there is a site that still plays it online, the link is below: http://www.f22lightning3online.com/index.php All in all, wait for other reviews as well, it depends much on the gamer's likings. Novalogic's sims are nothing particular but they are simple to play and good for some quick action, singleplayer could be boring after a while though. Of the three, F-22 L3 is IMHO a better product (it was made in 1999, the others in 1998). However the three games are so similar that I wonder why Novalogic didn't make a single title with the option of selecting the aircraft or something like it. Regarding the damage model, you always survive the first missile hit IIRC, not the second though. You can eject from the plane. In F-22 L3 sometimes when hit by a missile you can have radar, weapons systems, countermeasures, gear and flaps faults/failures. During a mission if you need more ammo or repairs you can land at allied airbases, it's arcadish since as soon as you make a full stop, the plane is repaired and refilled with ammo instantly. In all three games you always have a wingman and you can give him orders (this option is a must to complete difficult missions). In addition, F-22 L3 has a rather smart auto-pilot, it can land your plane at the nearest base, follow the next waypoint, etc.
