A mission editor, with a graphic interface and easier to use and LAST but not LEAST A crashlog, for CTDS.******* Those "ideas" range from quite difficult quite easy to implement IMHO. I had a few "direct" exchange of ideas with TK on his forum on this matters. Requesting and suggesting all of them togheter perhaps is a bit too much, but maybe some of them?, especially considering that some are specific TK's choices, while others are complicated programming routines that might require a lot of testing, and TK is apparently on limited funds. One solution would be for TK to sell his SDK, like Microsfot does, starting a trend of improving and modding like MS FS. But again there are obviously implication of higher level behind, of financial kind, or maybe of copyrights, or maybe just TK does not want for his own personal, understandable reasons. Wha happens is that it is sad that in 2008 the Flight Sim scene is basically a desert with very few titles, some of them remakes of sims of the late 90s such as Falcon4 in his new patches.Truth of the matter., Back in the JAne's era we would have not accepted anything like SFP, simply the competition level was too high. Perhaps this very same higher and higher stake of complication of hard-core flight sim decided the death of this genre, with the programming-flop of Falcon4. On the other hand the moddability and the ease of play of this series made it a winner in this "Combat Flight Sim Middle Age". It is fast, playabel and fun , and I can add the very plane I like with the very skin I like, in every terrain I like, (which I can quickly mod if I really want too) Brilliant. In evey middleage there are the embryos of renaissance. On the other hand the WOI choice that TK made left me puzzled. Would have been better IMHO a BIG pay patch with added featurea and characteristic instead of known scenario with known planes. Some solution like the airbase population thoguh are full of potentioal indeed
  4. According to type.ini and targets.ini there should be one or more TV tower objects in GermanyCE sttock WOE terrain. One is in berlin I took a flight over berlin and I spotted the amazing Brandeburg gate and the reichstag, but I can't see the tower. It is marked as Commbuling in the types ini ; is there a reason why it does not show? any one can post a picture?

Un Tornado in volo radente durante un attacco ad una raffineria occupata dal Regime Berlusconico in Libya "Gloria al Tornado" I Liberi Piloti Italiani decisero che preferivano immagini di ragazze seminude sulla coda dei loro aerei, dove infondevano loro coraggio e determinazione, piuttosto che nelle televisioni di regime, dove diffondevano omologazione e instupidimento. Qualche Tornado, sempre dalle missioni sulla Libia (queste foto, molto rare, mostrano i Tornado prima che il nome scelto per l'aereo venisse aggiunto all'immagine sulla coda) "Amore in Linea" "Rosso ed Oscuro" "Oro Celtico" Vediamo anche qualche Typhoon di uno Squadron mercenario utilizzato come supporto e scorta dall'Aeronautica Militare Libera Italiana. Tali squadron erano composti da personale europeo, dedito alla causa dell'Anti-Berlusconismo. Una forte presenza britannica in questo squadron spiega queste noseart, già apparse su alcune aerocisterne Victor durante la I Guerra del Golfo.   7. Thanks guys for the ideas. I actually had tried already admintools as in "eventviewer", and Drwatson has no log dumps for the SFP's CTD. Which is where the whole problem is, that there is no error message to start looking at. The problem is that I am having am apparently random " CTD, ( I guess "year" related) in a secondary install of Strikefighters, and I can't undestand why. Of course I tired all th classic methods I read on the boards, and on the toher hand the crash happens when clicking accept on single mission selection screen, i.e. where you pick plane, level of opposion, mission and year. Knowing what load at the peculiar phase would be an help. Posted and 3rdwire, but no answer yet. For modding purpose, being able to quickly trace CTD's roots.
  8. Sicily is full of ruins! You could add Agrigento, in central south of sicily, (one of the biggest and well preserved greek ruin site in the world. And in trapani too, on a hill north of the airbase, called ERICE. in Marsala, along the coast and south of th airbase there is a WE radar facility., and in Comiso quite east of trapani there was a cruise missile base.

  10. Glad Pantelleria will be there. To be really picky should be crossing runway airfield, and sitting on flat high terrain area. Look really like an aircraft carrier. Lampedusa further south would be a good add airoport too As for the tiles, you pick of course; I guess deuces repaints, which IMHO is the best idea, are named like standard tiles. And the tall building trick can still be done with Fubar's idea which was discussed in the thread you mentioned (F-16s yes, it was really neat to play mouse for them on their mock intercept practice, and formation ILS with them, really cool..)
  11. This is not impossible; obviously must be a mod, and the install I am setting up is quite the patchwork. For example what happens is that I pick the L-29 in 1971, for example and crash. I estart try again, and crash; so then I pick a A-7E in 1992, and it works; I go back to pick the L-29, and it works. Seem really date-related. Thanks for the moral support , jake.
  12. Of course not: no errors.. grr a toll that should be asked to TK would be a crash-logger, would help in modding loads. What is strange is that it is random, nw it works, now it doesn't. What I observed is that some planes crash in ayear range (around '70s) and works from 80s and on It is not a big deal, I am just curious to understand why!
  13. I agree with adding Pantelleria. Having flown over Sicily for a while, in my opinion, polak'tiles are too green and too desertish to represent Sicily landscape and I guess Northafrica too. Perhaps can be made compatible with deuces desert repaint, which should be not a problem , tiles have the same names of the original desert right?;Especialy now that we can add tall high rises everywhrere. Also US airbase by Mont Etn a whose name is signonella Airport, should be south of the city, with another airport that is Catania Civil Airport; both of them have no Crossing runways, and are 09-27 orientated. the other Us base to the eaist is Trapani military airport, (was my base!) and it should be closer to se, and at sea level; it comes with 13-21 orientation. In short the whole sicily landscape elevation should be revised ; it is not that mountanions Thanks for the update wrench A suggestion; maybe we can add some TANK movement lines (as strategic nodes) ACROSS the mediterrenan; bear with me on this; maybe three parellel sea lanes, which can be used from allied and soviet ships (and subs) , used as tanks in a campaign; planes would be launched from carriers and airbases with CAS loadout modified with anti-sub and anti-ship loadouts; of course it might require some .ini fiddling, to be removed for normal operations in case you don't like real tank, with tracks sailing on the waves. I wanted to do this with lybia that I have but I was waiting your update
  14. I am setting up a new install and I get random CTD, (roughtly around dates from 1968t o1980) about 1 to 4 ratio (1 CTD 4 OK) when I click to go to the singlemission hangar screen (I-E) after the plane , date, type or mission selection To your experience, what could cause a CTD in this phase?

  18. I did get the picture; thanks for the explanations. It was sort of what I had thoght that terobjects was needed. Actually the whole idea can be applied to other terrains. In SFP1 the default "low" buildings are terobjects_buildings1.bmp; just in city1.bmp entr in the terrain data, we can have solidobjectalphatexture=terobjects_buildings1A.bmp; in this way "downtowns" would be high rises and surroundings lower buildings; provided of course a city1.tod is in the folder as in the above posts of this thread. It works, with some little glitches of house scaling. You see big houses smaller than big ones, but the high rises stand higher, and you really have to go and peek closer and look at the little glitch; the whole idea was as simple and adds a lot of scenic to SFP terrain; thanks Fubar for sharing
