Well said. Here at Cace users like planes because they fly and they fight. Not because of East and West. Althoguh personally I won't install J-5 and J-6 immeditately, because I already have plenty of versions in my install, but it is obvious the more models we can choose from for our installs., the better. On the other particularly looking forward to yuor other works in project..

J-10 centerline fuel tank
Canadair replied to Svetlin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I do confirm. Now I have the fuel tanks, and the ventral one, after the proper install and .ini procedure does not show up in flight. I don't think there is much more to experiment about. On the other hand the J-10 is a beta, althoguh in decent condition. Wrench I got it from CA, as attachment to a thread., Althoguh I worked on it a little bit. If the creators agree, it can be posted on CA... -
How many F-22s are there around? Sadly USMC hawker is right; russia gives Usa something to bargain about, and makes a loud voice in a moment in which USa is all over the place..

Isecond that almost completely. Quite a few stock models have been replaced by modder's new ones. As for the early migs, I guess it depends from what you are used to fly; obviously each one of us has favorites that he likes higher quality models of. Wrench's versions of radar-nosed and pyloned early mig are nice to fly and they were a great modding idea at the time, with their workarounds to add the nose and the pylonsare part of my installs...but the more models we have as a communtiy the better! On the other hand Wrench's statement about not doing what is already done and working makes sense As one of our best moders likes to say , from ancient medieval english philosofer "Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem" .."Beings should not be multiplied without necessity"

J-10 centerline fuel tank
Canadair replied to Svetlin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I don't think that the fuel tanks are provided in that download; all is there to do is use wingtanks form another plane until Inksy makes them available; In the meanwhile the plane flies great, and with a F-18 cockpit and less than 5 minutes of edit provides a formidable bird to fly -

Canadair replied to Canadair's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Obviously, Dave. We all want the mod "right", for two good reasons, one the mod as a whole "piece of art" , historic and proper representation of the conflict. Two, for the number of toys included; rumors I heard are about a good number of nice planes and objects that will also fit in other scenarios. But this will came afterwards, in whichever ways the Community and Modders decide to go. What I meant is that it might be unerstandable wanting to use some planes and objects in installs left unpatched, assuming one feels like leaving a main install unpatched until the whole mod library gets updated, which is a progress that might take the communtiy a long time. On the other hand I agree that it sounds asking too much for some sort of "retro compatibilty"; I wasn't asking for that anyway ..but just questions in general about this mod. Still, considering the amount of planes in coalition bases, taxing in the middle of planes parked on aprons sure will add to immersion factor, and alone is a good reason to wait for patch. The AG radar will add to immersion in spotting those SCUD launchers. Don't rush it, do it well. If you have time don't forget Locusta. They were there, they helped. -

Desert Storm mod
Canadair posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The whole waiting for the new patch is getting long. As much as releasing the DS mod when things are finally patched seems quite sensed, let me ask the following questions: the whole DesertStorm Mod would work in latest SFP or WOE installs? Or has it been designed for WOI since the beginning? I.E. if it was released for WOI would it work?: last questions; a version for those of us who might decide not to patch their main install, left to SP4 standards would be reasonable? Let me explain: Of course the DS pack will be make more than worth an install standalone and patch it up. But maybe some of us might be interested in borrowing bits and pieces from the DS mod and throw those in thier campaigns or missions. The woi-patch compatibilty might make this difficult. -
Vietnam tileset problem
Canadair replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I second the above question.....(greedy and curious!!!!) -
they do; the j-10 in particular is great. as for the j-7 series, those that are published here on CA need some finishing for the .ini; nothing really major. the j-7g with the double delta model is great. Insky guysre great althuhg they should work on presenting their oroducts; on the other hand all this stuff is free, so as user you have, like in every mod, a certain tweaking responsability; (whixh starts by reading the readme!) Still IMHO , a bad or unfinished mod is better than NO mod!

More PTO experiments!
Canadair replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Wrench, are you talking about that HANOI in vietnamsea terrain the one with WOV, modded with green hell and brain tiles? In this one I noticed NO building floating in river? I don't have a PTOi, so maybe you are talking about something else... -

Has it been said enoguh that Ca's stary trees add huge to the game, making it a whole new game in same situations? I guess not. It is impossible to repeat this statment enoguh. It is such a huge creation and idea. By the way, that Darwin terrain benefits of the Vietnam green hell, while the Formosa benefits hugely of the farms and trees for germany CE Thanks a lot CA stary, seriously.
