News of Su-33 for DCS World Currently in the Eagle Dynamics update hangar is our Su-33 for DCS World / Flaming Cliffs 3. This carrier-borne aircraft is in the final stages of receiving a big, FREE update that includes much improved flight dynamics and the addition of several new systems. This will bring our Su-33 much more aligned with its real-world counterpart. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1920x1080. The original image is sized 1920x1080. Features of this upcoming Su-33 update include: More detailed and accurate simulation of the wing control surfaces that include the leading and trailing edge flaps and the differential ailerons. In addition to the conventional differential stabilizers, canard behavior has also been improved for more realistic behavior. The Flight Control System (FCS) will automatically reconfigure itself depending on the flight mode. The adaptations that make the Su-33 aircraft-capable have been updated and improved to include the wing-fold mechanism, reinforced landing gear struts, and the inclusion of high-gain nose wheel steering for use on crowded carrier decks. The physical mechanisms by which the arrestor hook engages the aircraft carrier arrestor wire has been greatly improved. Correct physics have been applied to the arrestor wire and its’ interaction with the aircraft. The engines now have a “special mode” that adds up to 12,800 kg of thrust (instead of the normal 12,500 kg of thrust). This mode also includes realistic operating time restrictions. A new FCS mode used when aerial refueling has also been implemented. When in this mode and the control stick is released, the aircraft will automatically maintain level flight. This FCS mode allows fine-control and thus making it easier to make contact with the tanker within a pitch range of plus or minus 5 degrees and of a roll angle of plus or minus 10 degrees. The Auto-Thrust Control (ATC) is used for automatic speed holding and can be fine-tuned with a set speed switch. This can be useful with landing on the carrier. The automatic collision avoidance system (“Uvod” mode) is now included and allows safe nap-of-the-earth flying.

DCS: Spitfire LF Mk.IX Now Available on Steam We are pleased to make our Spitfire LF Mk.IX available on Steam with a 10% launch savings! Please visit our DCS World Steam store. The British Spitfire is one of the most iconic fighter aircraft of World War II. Most famous for its role in the Battle of Britain, the Spitfire served as Britain's primary fighter during the entirety of the war. The Spitfire combines graceful lines, eye-watering dogfight performance, and heavy firepower in its later variants. For DCS World, we are happy to bring you the most accurate and realistic simulation of the Spitfire LF Mk IX ever created. The Spitfire Mk IX was originally developed as a stopgap measure as a response to the appearance of the Focke-Wulf FW 190A. The Spitfire IX is powered by the Merlin 66. This engine produces its best performance at slightly lower altitudes than the older Merlin 61. Spitfires equipped with this engine were designated LF Mk IX. This was the most numerous version of the Mk IX, with 4,010 produced. The majority of Mk IXs of all types used the standard "c" wing, which would often carry two 20mm cannon and four .303in machine guns. The Mk IX was a significant improvement on the Mk V. It had a top speed of 409 mph at 28,000 feet, an increase of 40 miles per hour. Its service ceiling rose from 36,200 feet to 43,000 feet. It could climb at 4,000 feet per minute. In July 1942, an early Mk IX was flown against a captured Fw 190A, and the two aircraft were discovered to have very similar capabilities. The RAF had its answer to the Fw 190 problem. The Mk IX replaced the Mk V from June 1942. It allowed the RAF to go back onto the offensive in occupied Europe, and resume the "circus", "ramrod" and "rodeo" raids. Its first combat success came on 30 July 1942, when a Spitfire Mk IX shot down a Fw 190. Amongst other notable achievements, the Mk IX took part in the highest altitude combat of the Second World War, when it intercepted a Ju 86R at 43,000 feet over Southampton on 12 September 1942. On 5 October 1944 Spitfire Mk IXs of 401 Squadron were the first allied aircraft to shoot down an Me 262 Jet. The Mk IX remained in service until the end of the war, even after the appearance of the Griffon powered Mk XIV. Key Features of DCS: Spitfire LF Mk IX Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse Accurate Spitfire LF Mk IX model, squadron markings, and weapons Detailed modelling the Spitfire LF Mk IX instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, and electrical systems Fly along with fellow P-51D Mustangs as you battle Fw 190 D-9s and Bf 109 K4s in single and multiplayer games Instant Action and Single Missions Interactive training missions Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,I present to you the number 2 development update of the Razbam MiG-19P, which focus on showing the WIP cockpit mesh. Art work continues on both the external and internal model while all the necessary data for the flight model and systems is being organized. Thanks to a very exaustive research work, we now own almost all MiG-19 operational documentation with a very good quality, so we hope to be able to deliver a good aircraft manual from the start. As it was said before, the MiG-19P that´s going to be made is a late series MiG-19P with RP-5 Radar and R-3S AA missile integration. Because of the strong similarities between the P and PM variants, it would require a lot less effort to make also a MiG-19PM than a MiG-19S, so we may go for a MiG-19PM after the MiG-19P, so you can have PVO first two all weather supersonic interceptors.I have been reading the comments about the Facebook updates in comparison with the ones here in the forums and I have to say that I agree with most of you who want to see those small advances and don´t use FB. I will try to post them here too. I need to say however that the most important updates are always posted here.Without much else to say: This image has been resized. Super Hornet shoots down Syrian Su-22
MigBuster replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
The pilots themselves have spoken at Tailhook.........would suggest the Su-22 got a bit of warning..... http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/14344/heres-the-definitive-account-of-the-syrian-su-22-shoot-down-from-the-pilots-themselves -
https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-mideast-crisis-syria-usa-idUKKBN1990X7?il=0 Later the U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying the Syrian plane was downed "in collective self-defence of Coalition-partnered forces," identified as fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near Tabqah. It said that "pro-Syrian regime forces" had earlier attacked an SDF held town south of Tabqa and wounded a number of fighters and driving them from the town. Coalition aircraft in a show of force stopped the initial advance. When a Syrian army SU-22 jet later dropped bombs near the U.S. backed forces, it was immediately shot by a U.S. F/A-18E Super Hornet, the statement said. https://www.rt.com/news/392941-us-led-coalition-downed-syrian-plane/ The downing of the Syrian warplane, an Su-22, was confirmed by an official press statement from Operation Inherent Resolve, the US-led international task force against IS, which accused the Syrian government of targeting fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces, a Kurdish-led militia. “At 6:43pm, a Syrian regime SU-22 dropped bombs near SDF fighters south of Tabqah and, in accordance with rules of engagement and collective self-defense of Coalition partnered forces, was immediately shot down by a US F/A-18E Super Hornet,” the statement read. https://theaviationist.com/2017/06/19/u-s-navy-fa-18e-super-hornet-downs-syrian-su-22-near-raqqa-syria-and-here-is-everything-we-know/ And here’s the response to the downing from the Russian MoD: Statement of the Russian Defence Ministry concerning downing of the Syrian Su-22 near the town of Resafa On June 18, 2017 the American fighter F-18A (Get it right!!) belonging to the international coalition shot down the Su-22 aircraft of the Syrian Air Force, which was performing a combat mission supporting the government troops, which were conducting the offensive against the ISIS terrorists near the town of Resafa (40 km to the south-west of the city of Raqqa). As a result of the attack, the Syrian aircraft was destroyed. The pilot baled out over an ISIS-controlled area, his status is unknown. The destruction of the aircraft of the Syrian Air Force by the American aviation in the air space of Syria – is a cynical violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic. Numerous combat activities of the US aviation carried out under the cover of “fight against terrorism” aimed against the legitimate Armed Forces of a UN-member is a blatant breach of the international law and is in fact an act of military aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic. Moreover, at that time the aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces were also performing combat missions in the air space of Syria. However, the Command of the coalition forces did not use the existing channels of communication between the Command of the Al Udeid Air Base (Qatar) and the Hmeymim Air Base Command to prevent air incidents in the air space of Syria. The Russian party considers those actions of the US Command as an intentional failure to fulfill its obligations within the Memorandum on prevention of incidents and providing of flight security during the operations in Syria dated October 20, 2015. Since June 19, 2017, the Russian Defence Ministry has stopped the cooperation with the American party within the Memorandum on prevention of incidents and providing of flight security during the operations in Syria and demands a thorough investigation of the incident by the US Command with further providing of information on its results and the taken measures. In the combat mission zones of the Russian aviation in the air space of Syria, all kinds of airborne vehicles, including aircraft and UAVs of the international coalition detected to the west of the Euphrates River will be tracked by the Russian SAM systems as air targets.

Well - call me Mr pessimistic Remember that little "surprise" we had for the DCS crowd? well here it is: Announcing the Mirage 2000C for DCS, with a superb model from Metal2Mesh (creators of some of the finest models around) we´ll bring to DCS this magnificent product. We have learned so much during the T-2 development process that we decided to move forward with this high performance and high profile fighter. Does this means we cancelled the T-2? not at all, gentlemen, it´s just being moved aside for the time being. But enough of the chatter, let´s put some pics here!.. Also, we´ll have another big DCS surprise shortly, regarding other models being readied for DCS, all these will have an AFM , aiming for the highest fidelity possible, in a combat simulator. Gentlemen, we officially announce, the RAZBAM Mirage 2000C for DCS https://www.facebook.com/RazbamSims

There are 3 free flight missions with my A-10C: Go into Mission mode, and then select A-10C from the left. The missions are presented in a file structure like you see in Windows File Explorer.....so if you double click the folder at the top to go to the next level , then double click the folder called "single" you should get a bunch of missions including 3 "free flight" ones. Expect you can also create an "instant action" mission with no or a few ground targets using the advanced editor.....or failing that with the Mission editor you can do a lot more but probably needs a bit more time.

In my past experience A-10C has similarities to learning the F-16C in BMS in terms of learning the avionics and how to fire the weapons, using the TGP, A-A refueling etc etc and you will likely still be learning new things even after years of perseverance in both cases. On the other hand, It is relatvely easy to take off/Land / hit ground targets and has a very accurate gun. Spitfire Mk9 / P-51 are in comparison very easy to startup and remember the very few cockpit controls............however trying to takeoff and land in a taildragger (Spitfire mainly) is very difficult even after a lot of control tweaks, and you have all that engine management business in flight. MiG-15bis / F-86F is easy to fly and easy to startup, hitting anything with guns however can be challenging and so is bombing. Mirage 2000C........easy to fly but lots of radar modes and avionics switches a few French words to get heads round with INS only (no GPS) that requires manual Lat/Long input and manual updates in flight. Then there is 1980s combat with naff SARH missiles like R530D that I generally avoided in the past. MiG-21bis...never seen so many switches but after a while not bad to operate and the radar has a few vices...the main thing to learn in this aircraft is how to restart the engine in flight..or even flying to negate flaming it out. F-5E......Easy to fly, simpler than Mirage in terms of avionics but manual bombing modes to practise. The upcoming FA-18C is probably like the A-10C, whereas the F-4E and F-14A could be trickier F-5Es with the extra manned or AI GIB option. If you have the time choose the one you like the most and ideally the most challenging where you will learn something.

Bleeds energy in a turn - that is about it I think https://hushkit.net/2016/10/13/mirage-2000-pilot-interview-cutting-it-in-the-electric-cakeslice/ More seriously the cockpit layout reminds me a bit of the F-16A and there are a few switch functions similar to that. -

In addition to the conventional differential stabilizers, canard behavior has also been improved for more realistic behavior. The Flight Control System (FCS) will automatically reconfigure itself depending on the flight mode. The adaptations that make the Su-33 aircraft carrier-capable have been updated and improved to include the wing-fold mechanism, reinforced landing gear struts, and the inclusion of high-gain nose wheel steering for use on crowded carrier decks. The physical mechanisms by which the arrestor hook engages the aircraft carrier arrestor wire has been greatly improved. Correct physics have been applied to the arrestor wire and its’ interaction with the aircraft. The engines now have a "special mode" that adds up to 12,800 kg of thrust (instead of the normal 12,500 kg of thrust). The automatic collision avoidance system ("Uvod" mode) is now included and allows safe nap-of-the-earth flying. Announcing the P-51D: Charnwood Campaign Created by the same team behind the Spitfire: Epsom Campaign, work is moving rapidly on this historically-based campaign for the P-51D over Normandy in July 1944. The Charnwood campaign reproduces missions P-51D missions flown in support of the allied breakout of Normandy. Given the Mustang’s combination of air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities (bombs and rockets), this campaign will offer a wealth of mission types and challenges. Each mission is based on a real mission, down to weather, times, squadrons, mission tasks, and allied and axis unit placement. Coming Autumn 2017. Other screenshots available here.
