Technically this mod adds sort of ejecting pilots to the aircraft fire effect, and shows whenever any kindof aircraft catches fuselage fire, as my testing before making this mod (remember, series1 OCT2008 patch level) indicated that catching fire by aircraft causes the canopy to fall off thus implies crew ejection, not implying to player's craft off course, so you can see "yourself" in the mirror ejecting and still be able to fly. And remember aircraft fire effect isn't the same as fuel fire effect, important especially since Nov11 patch DM modelling updates where I have many times observed planes catching fuel fire just to burn out (or extinguish) without whole plane catching fires

  7. crazy you! j/k we still don't know what gameplay mechanics will change and how much (that is IF), also if there would be beneficts for merged install users like adding extra carrier based squadrons with different roles etc. I think if one of the premises is new terrain engine, then we can assume ground part of the war would have some importance for the player too (extra planes CAS, strikes, AD) You don't invest resources into new terrain rendering and data just to throw the player into the water corner of the map shooting waves of bombers
  8. I see it, nice screen BTW Kiwi, as you're quite a rookie here (hi!) my advice -add one mod/modpack at a time, test it if it works, test again, then add another. Being mod-happy and adding files as they download is the simplest way to pork one's install. Trust me, been there done that

  15. agreed JM, I think there might be zero shots of the naval ops or terrain before release BTW Thirdwire facebook page is being updated with screens of previous SF2 titles like crazy

  17. wouldn't it be time to show something like errr cockpit... you know the plane from inside... or are we supposed to play this in external views? Could be interesting
