looks smoother, but its only one pic hard to say for sure

Does the frigate sport fancy spec maps?

 

I'm inclined to say yes. Look at the stack, masts and deck. It also appears to be bump-mapped.

 

As for the terrain, now, that's a proper water shader! I wonder if they're using a different one for inland waters?

TBH the water look 1000x better.

Great comparison shot Stary!

That just shows how much more height AND tile resolution the new engine has, rather than the 1x1km height and 2x2km tile rez we have now.

I just can't stop looking at these screens, very exciting!! :heat:

i wonder if the rex is exclusive to iceland or we can make new terrains at that res....

 

like hawaii or japan, that way we can still have alot of water..
