Solomons Islands Terrain Upgrade: For WW2 PTO mods
The first of several...
This mod is a relatively small upgrade to Edward's WW2 Solomons Islands terrain. What I've done is add several new targets and target areas, and replaced several airfields with a newly repainted "desert airfiled 1", which is now a medium dirt runway. You'll be getting new targets and types inis, along with a host of goodies to drop into the terrain's folder.
It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, using their cats pointed to the terrain's main ini. As the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. All necessary items are included, so there should be no worries here.
You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things won't be appearing. This is especially important for the ships -- make sure you have the barges, the Liberty ship, and all warships, both Allied and Japanese. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable here as well.
It is also reccomended that you have installed (in this terrain ONLY) CA_Stary's WW2 hangars and buildings. They have a nice worn green wood-ish texture, and look really good in the SoWesPac! It is NOT included in this package. Edward's "Pacific Terrains.txt" readme is also included.
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
== MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WEAPONS PAK FOR THE WW2 WEAPONS!! =
If you follow the instructions below, you should have no (or minimal) problems...just remember - BACKUP your originals!
And follow the fairly simple instructions in the enclosed readme.
Of course, the general notes sections might be interesting to read; a full listing of credits, and my very public Thank You to Edward for creating the PTO terrains in the first place!!!
Sorry, folks, no screenie. You all should know what SoWesPac looked like by now!!

Readme for combining Gepard's 8 New Airfields and JSF_Aggie's Highway Airfields mods.
These files are simply replacements for your GERMANYCE_TARGETS.INI and GERMANYCE_TYPES.INI files.
What you will need first:
Wings Over Europe with the GermanyCE terrain (Duh!)
Gepard's 8 New Airbases for WOE:
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=5078
JSF_Aggie's Highway Airfield Mod:
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2950
Instructions:
1. Backup your GERMANYCE_TARGETS.INI and GERMANYCE_TYPES.INI files first (if they have been extracted)!
2. Install both mods...don't worry about overwrites, we'll be fixing those later.
3. Copy the GERMANYCE_TARGETS.INI and GERMANYCE_TYPES.INI files from this archive into the "WOE"/Terrain/GermanyCE directory. Allow the overwrites.
4. That's it!
As a bonus, I've included several areas you can use to base carriers out of.
These files should work with other mods of the WOE terrain (Deuces or JSF_Aggie's tree mods, etc).
However, they will erase any mods that have already altered the GERMANYCE_TARGETS.INI and GERMANYCE_TYPES.INI files.
Enjoy your new airfields. Big thanks to Gepard and JSF_Aggie for giving me permission to combine their airfield inis...all the work was theirs, I just wanted them both at the same time!

New Guinea 2 Terrain Upgrade: For WW2 PTO mods
This mod is a relatively large upgrade to Edward's WW2 New Guinea 2 (the full sized version) terrain. What I've done is add several new targets and target areas, and replaced several airfields with a newly repainted "desert airfiled 1", which is now a medium dirt runway. You'll also have a new "Runway7", which is a partly-paved version of Airfield6, thereby creating a NEW airfield. The 'new' target areas are enhancements of already existing ones -- I've just added some more things there to make it look a little more populated. There are a couple of new parked planes, based of existing ones, hex-edited and reskinned for their proper users.
This is a very 'target rich' environment -- there are plenty of items for strike and anti-shipping missions. It is also fairly well defended - so watch out for the flak.
It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, using their cats pointed to in the main ini. As the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line)
You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, infantry, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things won't be appearing. This is especially important for the ships -- make sure you have the barges (get both, they're needed in the GO folder), the Liberty ship, and all warships, both Allied and Japanese. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable (and used!) here as well.
It is also reccomended that you have installed (in this terrain ONLY) CA_Stary's WW2 hangars and buildings. They have a nice worn green wood-ish texture, and look really good in the SoWesPac! Along those linse, I've pulled and repainted several skins for some of the stock buildings as well. You'll see them as you play.

Follow the instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. There are a few new Ground Objects, and reskins of existing. It is also suggested to read my "Other Notes" section for other comments, explinations, and general info.

Okinawa Terrain Upgrade: For WW2 PTO mods
This mod is a relatively large upgrade to Edward's WW2 Okinawa terrain. What I've done is add several new targets and target areas, and replaced several airfields with a newly repainted "desert airfiled 1", which is now a medium dirt runway. You'll also have a new "Runway7", which is a partly-paved version of Airfield6, thereby creating a NEW airfield. It should be noted, that the main, original Okinawa terrain is NOT here at CombatAce, but is available at AvSim. I'm working on trying to get permission to upload the original here.
Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems.
In other words, read the enclosed 'readme.txt'. Also, I'd suggest a perusal of the General Notes and Comments section, too.

ps: the screenie above is just a nice, generic shot; nothing special!
This terrain set is based on the Wings Over Europe default terrain tiles. It maintains the layout of the original terrain, and leverages many of the base textures. However, the overall color scheme, graininess, and shading of the original has been improved, along with many tweaks here and there. In addition, the tiles have been converted to 512x512 tiles, which improves some of the jagged edges and allows for some additional detail.
American SouthWest Terrain for SF, WoE & WoV
This semi-fictional terrain represents Southern Texas and part of Northeastern Mexico (Tampilas/Monterrey) region, along with part of the western Gulf of Mexico. I use the term 'semi-fictional', as for the most part, the cities and airfields are relatively close to their real life locations, but some fictional target areas have been added for playability. I've designed this to be used in the alternative world of the "Global Sedition" vs the "North American Alliance"; it is, however, usable in any era from 1940-2040, with minor changes in the targets and types inis. The terrain could use some more work, but I'm releasing it "as is", as there's pretty much not more I can do with it.
This terrain is a rebuild of a partly completed build found via a discussion at SimHQ. It should also be noted at this time, =I DID NOT BUILD THE TERRAIN!!= I'm only completing someone elses work...and couldn't have done it without the assistance of some superb people. The original readme is included. So the =ONLY= credit I can and will take, is for simply finishing the job.
This package ONLY includes the necessary inis, HFD, TFD and a few add-on objects that are needed for the necessary eye-candy. 3 Planning Maps are included, for the varying zooms, but they are very basic and won't show the cities and 'other' target areas. NO terrain tiles are included (see Notes below for reccomendations)
It has been -almost- completly rebuilt, the creation of briefing, movement, a completely NEW targets ini, and upgrading the data ini to the latest standards (ie: one that works). Water effects are active, so Vista users take note...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users".
It is set up to use the SF desert tiles. You WoE and WoV users WILL have to get a suitable 'alternative' set of tiles; See the NOTES section below for more information, and my reccomendations for tile sets.
It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; either or both the Desert or Euro skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Infantry paks, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy. With such an 'open ended' time frame for use, any and all GroundObjects should be available for use.
PLEASE!!! Read the enclosed 'asw_readme.txt' for full, detailed step-by-step install instructions. Also, the "Notes" section which has further detailed information pertaining to tile sets and Vista users. EVERYTHING you need to know is in there..I wrote it so you'd have as little problems as possible

This terrain mod for Wings Over Israel changes the color of the mountains so they are not such a reddish hue. The WOI terrain is otherwise excellent, but the mountain color just seemed a bit off to me.
American SouthWest Update....
This little package will update the ASW terrain by adding several more usable airports for both sides. Randolph, Kelly, Harlingin have been added to the NAA side; Nuevo Laredo, McAllen and Rio Grande for the GS side.
Included is a new TFD, HFD, targets and types ini, along with a new sign. New planning maps have also been included.
All other parts from my original upload are re-used.
See the enclosed readme for super easy install instructions (for once!)
Enjoy!

Modern Range and Red Range Targets Upgrade
This little package will update the Modern Range and Red Range with the addition of more target areas, a new movement ini for practice Armed Recon missions, and general tweeks to some of the destroyed effects. Somehow, it seems to have either gotten lost, or somebody never did upload it......
Included is the Factory Place, Truck Depot, and the Rail Yard. The 'ship target', as seen in my WW2 upgrades, has been switched over to use the stock 'Cargo Ship'.
Remember -- as there is no ocean on this map, there are NO anti-shipping missions. Also remember, since there are 2 Ranges (one for each side), you =CANNOT= fly a Western/US/NATO aircraft on the Red Range. Just as you =CANNOT= fly a Soviet/WarPac or other 'enemy' classed aircraft on the Range. The game engine WILL crash out with a 'singlemission.dll' fault. So, make sure you have BOTH terrains installed.
This mod works in SF, WoV, WoE. It -should- work in WoI with the correct terrain cat pointer; this has NOT been tested, and is at present NOT supported.
Please see the enclosed readme for relatively simple install instructions.
Happy Practicing!!!

Isreal 2 Terrain Upgrade for WoI
This is an extensive expansion of Gepard's "Isreal 2" full-scale map he made several years ago for SF/WoE/WoV. What this will do, is allow its usage in WoI (or any of the other games, for that matter), with a massive expansion of the target areas. Several new items have been added to the types ini, allowing the 1948-1967 timeframe for Historical missions and Campaigns in the Middle East region. This is NOT the full terrain, just a small package of inis, a few new objects, and some tiles for use with Polak's Desert Tile set (see "Notes" below for more information). Updated planning maps have been included, based off Gepard's originals.
It has been extensively upgraded, with new movement, targets and types ins. Water effects are active, so Vista users take note...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users" below.
It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; expecially the Desert skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Infantry paks, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy.
It is designed to use either the Bunyap or Mirage Factory Weapons Pak; some of the names for the IDF air defenses (ie: the HAWKs and their associated radars) and their 'arranements', are taken from Nick Bell's 'NATO Air Defense Mod'; these are the names used for the 2 HAWK radars. In addition, I've included 2 new Infantry units - one generic Arab and one IDF, based off Kesselbrut's 'Infanty Squads'. I've replaced the RPG/LAW with an automatic rifle. I've also given you my fully updated gundata.ini and gundata.dat files, which have all the needed guns.
As stated above, it is =specifically= designed for use with Wings Over Isreal. It has -also- been tested in SF, WoE and WoV;.expecting the fact the WoV users will need to get a new tile set. See "Notes for WoI Users With Only WoV" below.
---You MUST have Gepard's Isreal2 terrain already installed for this to work -- it it NOT a full terrain--
So, like I always say....read the readme...it has everything you need to know! Also, the extensive notes section for more, in-depth explinations and guidence.

This is a mod of Major Lee's America Northwest terrain mod using some terrain tiles from Deuce's GermanyCE2 tile set. The terrain tiles hopefully make for a more exciting feel. And the SAM sites will definately get your attention. The waypoints were changed to work better in multiplay dogfights. In an effort to get a more standardized mod for multiplay, I have included these directions, that when followed closely, should allow folks to successfully connect and be able to play dogfights and coop missions on it. And if played in single player mode, should prove to be a challanging terrain to fly on. I have included all the files needed for this mod to work except the VietnamSEA.CAT file. Because it's size is way to big for most people to download and they already have it. This mod works with Strike Fighters, Wings Over Vietnam, Wings Over Europe, and Wings Over Israel.
To install:
Unzip this file into your WOV\Terrain Folder
There should be a new folder created that is named AmericaNW
Next open your VietnamSEA folder and copy and paste the VietnamSEA.CAT file from there into the newly created AmericaNW folder. Open the AmericaNW terrain folder and rename that VietnamSEA.CAT file to AmericaNW.CAT.
That's it, you are good to go.
For those people wanting to use this mod with Strike Fighters Project 1 the directions are the same except use the Desert.CAT file.
For those people wanting to use this mod with Wings Over Europe the directions are still the same, only this time use the GermanyCE.CAT file.
If you want a couple good single player missions to go with this terrain, look here;
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5426
If you want a good campaign to play with using this terrain look here;
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5661
For Multiplay dogfights, you need to edit your WOV\Option.ini file.
In the [DogfightHost] section, change the following command lines to this:
RespawnTime=45
RespawnDistance=2000.000000
MinHeight=1500.000000
MaxHeight=1500.000000
HeightDeviation=5.000000
MinHeight and MaxHeight can be as low as 1200.0000 without causing to much trouble, you'll have to play around with that to suit yourself.
The Desert.CAT or GermanyCE.CAT files can be used instead of VietnamSEA.CAT file, but if you do use them, you might have to use a different figure in the MinHeight and MaxHeight parameters above for multiplay. Those you'll have to experiment with. I like to start a dogfight out as low as possible since the game doesn't allow one to start out on an airport yet. I had to keep the RespawnDistance close in to lessen the chance of respawning on the side of a canyon. I might recommend using Desert.CAT for Strike Fighter Project 1 and Strike Fighters Gold so you can be compatable when playing those sims, staying with VietnamSEA.CAT for Wings Over Vietnam, and using GermanyCE.CAT for Wings Over Europe. This mod works with Wings Over Israel as well using the IsraelME.CAT file.
Fixing the terrain swap bug in Multiplay:
The problem: There seems to be a glitch when swapping terrain in multiplay dogfights, in that the starting waypoints start out wrong. An example is when switching to the America Northwest Mountain Thaw mod AFTER playing on the VietnamSEA terrain. THe game starts out using the waypoints from VietnamSEA, not the waypoints programmed into the Mountain Thaw mod. To clear this up the host must exit the game and start a new game and everything works just fine. Then when you switch back to the VietnamSEA terrain, the multiplay dogfight starts out using the Mountain Thaw waypoint and again the host must close the game and restart a new one to clear things up. When this problem first presented itself, I thought the problem was in the terrain's Dogfight.ini files. It's not, those waypoints are correct and work as intended.
The Solution: In the WOV directory, create a folder named Options_Ini Backups. And inside that folder create two new folders, one named AmericaNW and another named VietnamSEA. Now, after you launch a multiplay dogfight using the AmericaNW Mountain Thaw terrain and it works ok, close out the game and copy the Options.ini file into the the Options_Ini Backups\AmericaNW folder. Then after you get a good dogfight game using the VietnamSEA terrain, again close out the game and copy the Options.ini file into the Options_Ini Backups\VietnamSEA folder. Then whenever you want to swap terrains in a multiplay dogfight, before starting the game go to those folders and swap in the correct Options.ini file.
I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but this seems to work. Just editing the Options.ini file and saving the changes before starting the mission doesn't seem to work. This doesn't appear to be a problem with the terrain per say, but more of a "bug" in how the game loads the terrain. And this seems to be a problem not only with WOV, but with SFP1, SFG, and WOE as well. Perhaps someone in TK's group can fix this when they release a patch sometime, but in the meantime this will fix that problem. It's my guess the game loads the waypoints before loading the terrain, sticking you with the waypoints from the previous game. I'm of the opinion here that we may need an Options.ini backup for each terrain we use in multiplay dogfights. Some guys use the Range terrain and may have to create a Range folder (and Options.ini backup) within that newly created Options_Ini Backups folder they created above. And this appears to be host specific so only the host of a dogfight will need to swap out those Options.ini files for the various terrains they use when hosting a multiplayer dogfight. Also, multiplay coop missions seem to be uneffected by all this.
And lastly. It's fine with me if anyone wants to use this mod for further development. All I ask is you please give credit where credit is due.
Simple as that. You are now good to go in both single player and multiplayer modes.
Currrently correct Texturlist file. Download includes only the tiles needed for "simple" version without complications of the Alpine biome attempted earlier.
6000km in size and purely experimental, this map is the beginning of a long term terrain project that hopefully may generate some interest in classical era strategic air warfare.
USE REQUIREMENT: Be complete Master of the Terrain Editor (TE)....well the map could be used in the game as-is to experiment with, and a few example SAC and PVO airfields are located in interesting locations although some (x > 2400km) don't show up correctly in KMD which was not made for this type of oversize map.
As far as I know, TE by itself can generate a maximum size map of 4800km with four GTOPO30 DEM files. This map is made of several pasted smaller maps, thus allowing a larger size. The included terrain tiles (4km size) are development blanks -- solid colours -- which are required for visibility at full zoomed out views in Terrain Editor. Included are a working Texturelist file and only the needed 71 tile blanks.
Both Texturelist and the CityList filenames begin with "0" -- a zero -- so they appear first in the tiny TE open file box.
A 6000 pixel import map is included. But most simple is to just "open" the HFD file (called "Baikal"), or one may import the 6000 pixel bmp file.
If importing, use this in TE ini file...
[bitmapImport]
HeightScale=41.5
MinLandHeight=1
Before importing, in the TE choose File-New and use the following values...
Terrain Map Size 6000
Texture Tile Resolution 4000
Height Field Resolution 1000
MANY thanks to Gepard for sharing this tip in the Brain Base terrain tutorials ~> http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=191
The 6000 pixel bmp was developed by importing many GTOPO30 DEM files at 25% height scale, then exporting them each at the TE default's 10, then importing the final cut-n-pasted 6000 pixel bmp at height scale of 41.5. This results in 456m height for Lake Baikal which is my reference, and allows a few Himalaya peaks nearing 8800m.
The 4km textures and 1km height field scale are double SF standard, resulting in some loss of terrain detail but the great advantage is a reasonable map size on hard disk and in game loading. A standard detailed map is easily possible, but at four times the size -- a whopping 275MB HFD file. Also, a vastly higher horizon distance can be used without performance loss. I'm currently running 250km horizon distance with an old ATI-9200 video card.
Ideas for terrain tileage came from World Biomes website ~> http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/world_biomes.htm

Iceland 2015 v0.1 beta
for Wings Over Europe
by Baltika
with thanks to Gepard for illuminating the path
This is a beta preview of my Iceland 2015 terrain which is in the early stages of development.
Installation is as simple as dropping the Iceland folder into your WoE/Terrain folder, and selecting "Iceland 2015" from the terrain list.
This terrain is usable in SFP1 & WoV, but you will need to edit the CatFile= flag in the Iceland.ini file to point to the correct terrain Catfile for the version of the game you are running. You will also need a Germany_CE replacement tileset. Brain32's is excellent, with treemod by CA_Stary, and you can get it here:-
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6192
In fact, I recommend installing Brain32's tileset even if you are running WoE.
Just drop the tileset into your Iceland folder, and go fly.
Please be advised this is an early beta release, for preview and feedback purposes only. Single missions will run, and there are flyable airbases for Red and Blue sides.
But, there are a number of glaringly obvious tiling issues, and be very careful about using Alt+N as you are likely to crash into the side of a fjord somewhere.
For some reason, Blue side anti-ship missions tend not to work properly.
Also, non-airfield target areas are completely unpopulated, so don't go looking for lots of stuff to blow up, as it just ain't there, yet. . .
Now, if someone wants to tell me the easy way to create a new tileset from scratch, I'd be delighted ;-) The topography of Iceland is wonderfully varied, from Glaciers to Volcanic Lava flows, from pure blue crystal springs to beaches of black sand, and from barren craggy rocks to verdant pasture. Just now it all looks a bit, well, green and boring. My early efforts at creating terrain tiles are amateurish to say the least. Ho-hum, back to the drawing board. . .
As ever, feedback, suggestions and requests are most welcome. You can get me at combatace.
Tally-ho!

Lybia Terrain; Updates, Fixes and General Mayhem
Version 2.0 =FINAL= No more updates after this release!!!
This is mostly a 'fix' of the targets, types, and movements inis. It replaces ALL PERVIOUS VERSIONS of the Libya map. It is a FULL terrain, with everything needed to just unzip, drop into your game of choice, select the proper terrain cat pointer (more below), and go fly. That means that EVERYTHING is included - tiles, inis, the usual suspect terrain items (factory place, truck depot, country flags, etc). It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE. It should work in WoI, as long as one of the original terrains is present, and the cat pointer adjusted to 'look' for it. -- This has NOT been tested!
It has been rebuilt, with corrected placements and flattening of the Libyan airbases, renaming of some target areas, and an EXTENSIVE expansion of the target's themselves. Due to terrain considerations, there are several airbases that are NOT in their Real World locations or have the proper runway configuration. But they're pretty damn close! All the inis, especially the movement, have been rebuilt to change the semi-functional Anti-Shipping mission placements to something that works, and the addition of several Ground Attack routes from Tunisia. As you can expect, there are several 'Easter Eggs' scattered around the map. Have fun finding them!
It is also reccomened you have the latest Weapons Pak (either one should be ok), Pasko's Ground Objects, and Kesselbrut's Vehicles Pak. I haven't acutally placed their objects, other than the HAWK batteries, but they're nice to have. See "Notes" below for information about Stock & 3rd Party Ships.
PLEASE read the readme for full, detailed, step-by-step install instructions. Also, have a look at the semi-extensive "Notes" section for more of my color commentary and additional sidebars.
Happy Hunting!

:yes: Here is a fictional version of Norway. It is fictional for I could not get the correct Norway area, however the terrain
is full of hills, mountains and valleys and sea . Texture set uses FE tiles + others. FYI a snowy version using DBS and
FE winter texture sets is in progress.
Targets Fix for Libya Map ver.2.0
This little fix will remove Gamal Abel Nassar AB from the targets ini, as it's been reported that it was too close to "The Wall", that 80km limit on the map edge. It's been replaced by a 'Military District HQ' at Benghazi (ie: another vehicle depot).
Included are 3 new versions of the planning maps, with GAN AB removed. NO OTHER CHANGES HAVE BEEN EFFECTED!!!! All other inis remain fully functional.
This package ONLY includes a new targets, cities ini, and the 3 maps.
See enclosed readme for super-easy install instructions (for a change!!!)
Enjoy!

This is a fictional terrain as I could not get the right landscape. However you will have a lot of hills and
islands with many interesting targets to play with.
Feel free to improve this terrain. Just give credits to Polak, Wrench, gepard, TK and myself.
Installation: Just drop the Norway folder into
your Terrain folder

This is Major Lee's America Northwest Terrain mod, slightly edited. I have included my SAM site mod to it, and fixed the sticky runway problem at Elk airfield. I'm posting this at CombatAce because Major Lee's site is down and have been receiving a lot of requests from people to provide it. I've set the zip file up so installation should be a very simple process. This mod was originally done for Strike Fighters, but will work with the WOV, WOE and WOI cat file as well. I've set this up to be a new terrain, seperate from Lee's other versions, so you can have all of them in your terrain folder at once. This is Major Lee's work, please don't credit me with any of it.
Major Lee's Aerodrome
20JULY2003
American Northwest training and development map (500 km x 500km).
TO INSTALL THE FILES: (Edited by Doghouse) (Back up any files you don't want to change permanently)
1: Extract the zip file. The appropriate terrain folder will be created.
2: If using Strike Fighters: Copy/Paste "desert.cat" from the Desert folder into the AmericaNW folder and rename "desert.cat" to "AmericaNW.cat".
If using Wings Over Vietnam: Copy/Paste "VietnamSEA.cat" from the VietnamSEA folder into the AmericaNW folder and rename "VietnamSEA.cat" to "AmericaNW.cat".
If using Wings Over Europe: Copy/Paste "GermanyCE.cat" from the GermanyCE folder into the AmericaNW folder and rename "GermanyCE.cat" to "AmericaNW.cat".
If using Wings Over Israel; Copy/Paste "IsraelME.cat" from the IsrealME folder into the AmericaNW folder and rename "IsraelME.cat" to "AmericaNW.cat".
3: Place that folder in your game's Terrain folder. You should be good to go.
TO USE IN-GAME:
Select Single Mission, "Create Mission" then under the Mission Map drop down list under section I, select "Amercian Northwest".
ERRATA:
There is no water, so don't select anti-ship missions.
There is no campaign; I welcome anyone who wants to please write one!
AI may have issues with the terrain at times.
You might have issues with the terrain too, especially if you select Inclement weather option...
This is a map meant that is meant to be somewhere fun to fly. It is also meant to be useful for prosepective modders to learn to write INIs and place objects.
If you develop an interesting INI for this map, please send it to me and I will post it at the Aerodrome for all to enjoy.
Please do not post this set at other websites.
Enjoy, Major Lee.
This is Major Lee's Bering Straits terrain that was posted at his site before it went down. People have been asking me for this terrain. So I've decided to post it for everyone to have fun with. Any of the terrain.cat files from SFP1, WOV, WOE or WOI seem to work equally well, though the terrain was originally set up for Strike Fighters. You'll either have to add that cat file into the terrain folder or point to it in the terrain's ini file.
