    1. India-Pakistan Terrain Tweeks Pak
      - For SF2, Any and All -

This is a relatively small tweeks pak for the India-Pakistan terrain. It is to be applied to the original I/P terrain download available at

      http://combatace.com/files/file/11805-india-pakistan-terrain/

There has been a few small changes in the 'eye candy' department, and a slight cleanup of some of the airbases. A few new terrain =AND= GroundObjects have been added, and included for ease of installation. These changes are not major and will not effect much, except adding the recently released fuel truck repaints, both the red and yellow 'followme' jeeps, and little things like that.

A new TFD and HFD are included, as some retiling had to be done. Also, a new "india1" planning map was created. It's just very basic, showing the region.

As always, fairly simple, easy to follow install instructions are included. Please read and follow them. It's pretty straight-forward (for once!)

    2. Central America Terrain for SF2

      - For SF2, Any & All (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended*)

This terrain covers the area from Belize, down to Columbia, centered on the Panama Canal. Some regions are a bit truncated (eastern El Salvador), and some areas are not targeted.

This terrain does =NOT= have the SF2NA "NavalMap" statement activated in any inis. It is designed =ONLY= for ground-based air forces. It is highly suggested it remain as such. However, the _water.bmp does have 2 "Blue Side" coded carrier stations, one in the Pacific and one in the Caribean. Again, its not reccomended for CV usage; as once the "NavalMap=TRUE" is activated, all USMC carrier-capable aircraft will now ONLY fly from The Boat.

The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, allowing only for 'regional powers' (with a few exceptions).
Many of the included GroundObjects you may already have -- install them anyway. A majority of them have had the "issuing" user nations corrected, and the appropriate UserList created. The included Ships have also been updated as per SF2NA.

Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other physical features may also fall into that classification.
However, 2 Easter Eggs are emplaced on the map. You should be able to guess where, and what they are.

As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but before installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading. Please also read the New Standard discalimer, as it's been changed slightly.

    3. Korea Terrain (V3) for SF2

      == For SF2, Full 5 Merged, @ July 2012 Patch Level, -ONLY- ==

      * Note: while this terrain references the GermanyCE.cat for terrain objects, it =MUST= be used in the SF2NA (or Full-5 Merged) environment. Use in any other type of install is at the End Users risk, as carrier operations have some 'oddities withou the necessary SF2NA coding. No support is/will be available for those End Users withOUT SF2NA. It it also supremly reccomended (read: required!) that you have SF2I's Expansion Pak 1, as several of the aircraft (soon to be) supplied WILL be needed for historik 1950s usage. SF2V is also required for it's Skyraider. If you do NOT meet these requirements, you download this at your own risk. It is also probable, that without heavy editing, this terrain MAY NOT WORK in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. *

This is a higly detailed terrain, with many new custom tiles and TODs. Due to the large number of terrain and ground objects used, you may experience exceptionaly long loading times. It has been fully tested in a Full-5 merged SF2 install, at the July, 2012 patch level (meaning: both a stand-alone KAW-centric game install, and with the terrain in SF2NA).

This is the terrain you've all been waiting for --

This is the KAW "Korea" terrain. It replaces any and ALL other versions of this part of the world you may have; this is likely the most accurate terrain EVER released for the Third Wire series.
While designed with the Korean War in particular mind, like all my other terrain mods, it has a full 100 Year Operations Span ™, allowing for use well into Modern Times. This is a Full 4-Season terrain, with all the various tiles and terrain objects requred.

However, it IS HIGHLY suggested you create a seperate KAW mods folder built from the SF2NA exe, as this terrain makes use of NA specific coding for carrier operations via the water bmp. There are 2 "CV Zones" on the map, in their semi-historic locations; Yellow Sea and Sea of Japan. This terrain also makes use of the LimitedNations=TRUE statement, locking in regional participants. And yes, as expected, there ARE Easter Eggs.

When building you KAW Mods Folder, you are advised to leave all the stock items intact, due to the Year Spread, and when the other 1950s KAW Parts are released, simply add them. It is vitally important to use ONLY the era-specific ground objects I'll be supplying!! Of course, adding SAMs the NK's have and their associated radars, and HAWK units is also important! So, feel free to add those AD or Ground units that fit this particular region.

GroundObjects included in this pak are very limited; in fact, some you may have already. The full KAW GO, Weapons, Pilots and other items will be released as soon as possible. With the exception of some aircraft; they'll be along as soon as they're done. In the meantime, there ARE plenty era-specific aircraft downloads at CA to keep you happy for a short while

Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, be placed in their Real Life ™ locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features, including target areas, will also fall into that classification. Some target areas (cities, etc) exist only as named places, with no strategic or tactical values. Just someplace to fly over. Also, the targeting in Japan is exceptionally minimal -- this was done purposfully to reduce the chance of Enemy Aircraft ™ showing up far beyond their operational ranges over the Home Islands. If necessary for 'later year' useage, this can be expanded as needed (what with all those superdetailed F-104J and F-4EJs available, to say nothing of JASDF Sabres in the download section).

As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended (ie: REQUIRED!!!) you read the document through after unzipping, but BEFORE installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading.
It's also VERY IMPORTANT to read the Legal Statement at the bottom, as it reflects changes in policy to ALL my terrain works.

    4. SF2NA WW2 Okinawa/Japan Terrain Update

-- Something for the PTO players --
      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (ONLY) =

*This mod will absolutely =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs; it is designed for use =ONLY= in a WW2 PTO-centric mods folder that is built off the SF2:NA exe.*

A very quick and dirty mod for the WW2 Okinawa/Japan terrain that adds the required NA "coding" and _water.bmp with carrier stations.

This is =NOT= a full terrain: just inis & a _water.bmp. It is to be applied to the modified version of the terrain I (re)relased in 2009, avaliable at this URL:
      http://combatace.com/files/file/9767-okinawajapan-version-3-ww2/

New main, data, targets, nations, types inis and a new HFD, along with (excessively) modified desert airfield inis, allow for a 'drag-drop' update to SF2NA. A new SF2NA style water bmp with 3 carrier 'zones' was created and included.
LimitedNations is set to TRUE; make sure you have the latest version of the WW2 Nations ini, as 'IJN' is most definatly one of the nations needed.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, PLEASE read them for necessary instructions. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

REMINDER: if you're downloading the original terrain listed above for the first time, DO NOT USE the enclclosed Ship GroundObjects (perhaps, excepting the LCM and _T taged ships and the 2 Forts/Gun Emplacements); they are NOT at SF2 levels. Use only those ships from the SF2 WW2 Naval Units Pak.

      ***********************************

      Thanks to:-

Gepard for his terrain tutorials, which started this adventure off all those years ago. Also for his new WoE runways which are included here.

JSFAggie for his Highway runway Mod, which has been altered and modded for use as glacier-based FARPs.

Brain32 for sound advice on creating terrain tiles. Cheers mate;-) Your hi-res lava tile has not been used here, but may see the light of day if I ever manage a hi-res set for this little terrain.

Wrench, Dave & all the gang at CA for invaluable advice on how to make things work, garnered over the years and hopefully put to good effect here.

MajorLee, Deuces, Edward and anyone else who made a terrain mod and posted about how to do it. Thanks!

TK for making the whole bag of bolts hang together.

      Installation instructions:-

Unzip and drop the "ICELAND02" folder into your Saved GamesThirdwireStrikeFighters2Terrains folder.

If there is no terrains folder in your mod folder, create one and drop the ICELAND02 folder into it.

That's it! Go fly, and fight for the liberation of Iceland.

This terrain has been completed using SF2 June 2010 patch. It is not supported on WoX series or earlier patch levels. But, if you really must try, use the ICELAND02_DATA.INI file included in the "Use_in_WoX" folder for SF1 series. Your mileage may vary.

      ***********************************

This terrain features a completely new Iceland map, scaled up to full size and with a completely new tileset. All mission types are flyable for Red and Blue force. It has taken a number of years and several false starts to get to this point. Like gepard said about his Israel terrain, I feel the journey may never be finished, so if you spot any oddities or bugs, drop me a line at CombatAce and I'll try to fix it.

I will post targetisation updates as and when these are completed. For now, kick back, enjoy the Arctic scenery and have a blast.

    7. Kamchatka Peninsula

      v2.0

      by Baltika

      For Strike Fighters 2 Series

This is an upgrade of my original Kamchatka Peninsula Terrain to bring it up to the latest SF2 standard (September 2011 patch).

I was motivated to bring it up to speed to provide a native combat environment for TK's excellent JASDF Phantom F-4EJ, available at the Thirdwire DLC Store.

      What's new over version 1.0:

      -Fully compatible with SF2
      -Winter and Summer tilesets
-Fully operational in Thirdwire Mission Editor (Cheers Crusader!)

This terrain includes a base tileset by Deuces, together with Stary's forests and farms mod adapted for use on this terrain. I have also created a large number of additional transition tiles based on Deuce's tiles, which may be of interest to terrain builders.

This version 2.0 release also includes a full winter tileset, which is based on Major Lee's DBS terrain tileset. Thanks also to Wrench for creating the water effect .TGA tiles used here which bring the water to life.

The tile naming format is compatible with the stock GermanyCE tileset for ease of expansion, but be aware that the excellent hi-res and seasoned tilesets by Brain32 and Stary in particular will not have all the necessary transition tiles, so use them with caution. Should you wish to use the included transitioned tileset for your own terrain mods, copy all the terrain .bmp files and .tga files into the "Tileset" folder and convert the .tga tiles to .bmp format. See Gepard's excellent terrain tutorials in the KB at CA for more info.

All mission types are activated, for both red and blue side flyable. The Americans have their existing bases on the Aleutian Islands. I have handed the northern Kuril Islands to the Japanese for the sake of this scenario. Take it as read that the Soviets were sufficiently distracted by the ground war in central Europe that they lost their hold on the Kurils to Japan. Now, the Soviets are engaged in a fierce battle for control of the strategically important Kamchatka Peninsula.

This is a target-rich, fictionalised version of the RUssian Far East. There are many installations and industrial zones in the Kamchatkai Krai that you will not find in real life. Equally, as much real-life stuff as I could discover went into the mix. Also, this is a showcase of a fully-transitioned tileset, so there is much more agriculture than you would get at these latitudes. Just kick back and enjoy the scenery.

Finally, there is a monstrous presence lurking at the heart of the Peninsula who has risen from aeons of deathless sleep to trouble the affairs of men once more. Bragging rights to the first person to take a recon photo of this horror and make it back to base alive, and with their sanity intact ;-)

      INSTALLATION:-

Simply unzip and drop the "KAMCHATKA" folder into your User\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2\Terrains folder.

It is highly recommended that you install the files listed below or you will not get the full intended Kamchatka Krai experience.

      Iceland 02 Full-Scale Terrain v2.0

      by Baltika

      ***********************************

This is a major upgrade to my little Iceland terrain.

      New features:-

Forest tiles and trees - yup, there are now some forests on Iceland, just as in reality.

Extensive targetisation upgrade, with many newly targetised areas.

      Several new terrain tile types.

Network of NATO radar stations, with accurate operational dates.

Re-tiling of some coastal areas to fix tsunamis.

Some terrain HFD work for greater accuracy.

Custom environment file to create snowstorm conditions for inclement weather. Cheers to Stary for that one ;-)

No substitute for SF2:NA, I know, but Merry Christmas everybody ;-)

This will likely be the final version of this terrain. But, if anybody spots any show-stopping bugs, please drop me a line at Combatace and I'll try to sort them out.

CA_Stary for being terrain guru extraordinaire. Also, thanks to Stary for his Heavy Snowfall mod for WoX series. I have included this for Iceland terrain and updated it for SF2 shaders, so you will get near-whiteout blizzard conditions for inclement weather setting. Happy flying ;-)

Thanks also to Brain32 and CA_Stary for their forest tiles and trees, which I have adapted for use as Iceland's sparse forests. Cheers guys ;-)

GrimViper, for pointing out that Iceland does actually have trees and forests. . . Cheers mate, hope you like it ;-)

      Installation instructions:-

Delete your old "ICELAND02" folder. This version is a complete replacement for any previous version.

Unzip the package to your desktop, or wherever is convenient.

Drop the "ICELAND02" folder into your Username\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2\Terrains folder.

If there is no terrains folder in your mod folder, create one and drop the ICELAND02 folder into it.

Drop the "Effects" folder into your Username\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2\ folder.

That's it! Go fly, and fight for the liberation of Iceland.

This terrain has been completed using SF2 November 2011 patch. It is not supported on WoX series or earlier patch levels. But, if you really must try, use the files included in the "Use_in_WoX" folder for SF1 series. Your mileage may vary.

If you use a custom environmental mod, bear in mind that any changes must be made to the ICELAND02_ENVIRONMENTSYSTEM.INI file included here. Just make sure your new file includes the following line:-

      InclementEffect=BlizzardEffect

Or else, you will lose the snowfall weather conditions. It is set up this way so as not to interfere with any other environmental mod you may use.
