    1. Spitfire MkVb, No.92 Sqn RAF, 1941

Spitfire MkVb, No.92 (East India) Sqn RAF, Biggin Hill, February - October 1941

After fighting throughout the Battle of Britain, during which it produced a number of noteworthy aces, No.92 stayed at Biggin Hill during the summer of 1941. This was the time when the RAF began its 'lean forward' into occupied France, effectively turning the tables on the Luftwaffe and finally taking the fight back to the Continent. In February 1941, No.92 was the first squadron to receive the new MkV Spitfire.

The markings carried throughout 1941 included the Sky 'Fighter Command' band and spinner introduced in December 1940 and returned to the all-Sky undersides again after a brief period from December to April when the port wings of fighter aircraft were once again painted black. At this time, the spinner and band were in fact generally painted not Sky but Sky Blue for some reason; the correct Sky colour appeared more generally in the second half of 1941.

Serial numbers in this pack correspond to MkVb aircraft used by 92 Squadron during 1941, although many of these aircraft were on strength only for some days, for obvious reasons. Where a pilot has been identified as having flown a particular aircraft (The Royal Air Force did not attribute aircraft to particular pilots, although many did tend to have their favourites) that pilot has been listed in the menu. Pilots of note included such well-known types as Brian Kingcome, Neville Duke, Titch Havercroft, Don Kingaby, Geoff Wellum, Trevor Wade and many others.

For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.

Includes 2048 and 1024 size skin sheets.

    2. Spitfire MkVb, Op. Spotter, March 1942

Spitfire MkVb, No.249 Sqn RAF, Takali, Malta, March 1942

Malta stands in a key position in the middle of the Mediterranean, between Sicily and Libya, right on the main supply route for Axis forces in North Africa. For this reason, it came under constant attack from mid-1940 until late 1942 when the Allies took the initiative in North Africa. This is the longest siege in both British and Maltese history, and on 15th April 1942 King George VI awarded the island with the George Cross as a token of respect for its dogged and determined resistance.

Initially, Malta was defended only by a handful of worn out Hurricanes which nonetheless gave a good account of themselves, but they were clearly not a match for the latest Bf109F fighters deployed by the Luftwaffe. The choice was simple - supply the island with Spitfires, or lose it.

The difficult part of the operation involved actually getting the Spitfires to Malta in the first place. Shipping was being lost at an alarming rate, yet with the limited range of the Spitfire, flying them from Gibraltar was impossible. Finally, an underbelly slipper tank was designed, and a plan began to come together. The aircraft would be carried aboard HMS Eagle to a point off the Algerian coast from which they would be able to reach Malta with their last drops of fuel.

The Spitfires were shipped to Gibraltar, assembled and made ready. The Eagle took them aboard and sailed to the fly-off point, dangerously close to a hostile coast... Only to find that the extra fuel tanks would not work owing to an undetected air-lock. The Navy was furious...

On the second attempt on 7th March 1942, however, all aircraft bar one with fuel feed trouble took off successfully under the command of S/L Stan Grant, and flew the 660 mile journey to Malta without mishap. The way was open and Malta would survive.

By the time the next delivery of a further 9 Spitfires took place two weeks later, only two of this initial batch were still airworthy.

Serial numbers in this pack correspond to the aircraft used in Operation Spotter. All 16 were newly-built MkVb(T) aircraft, which explains their consecutive serial numbers. They were delivered in the typical Desert scheme of Midstone, Dark Earth and Azure Blue, and at the time of their epic flight, they did not yet carry individual letters. I have assigned these letters on a purely hypothetical basis as I have not been able to determine if they were in fact carried during service with 249 Sqn or not.

For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working.

    4. Spitfire MkIXe S-89, Czech Air Force, late 1940s

Spitfire MkIXe S-89, 10th Air Regiment, Czech Air Force, Praha-Kbely, 1949

When the Free Czech squadrons of the RAF (Nos. 310, 312, 313) returned to Czechoslovakia after the end of the War, they took their aircraft with them, specially repainted in Czech colours before their departure from RAF Manston. These aircraft were supplemented by a number of others bought from Britain, but with the arrival of the Communists in power in 1947, the S-89 as the Spitfire was known locally fell out of favour and was phased out in favour of Soviet types. Many Czech Spitfires were sold on to the new State of Israel.

    11. SF2 WW2 Hawker Sea Hurricane IA 880 NAS Skin/Decal Set

SF2 WW2 Hawker Sea Hurricane IA 880 NAS Skin/Decal Set

-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*There is a distinct possibility this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. It's just a basic skin/decal set.*

A new skin/decal set for Raven's Sea Hurricane Mk.1A. Included herein is the skin and decals for
880 Squadron, aboard Royal Navy carriers in the Med (possibile INDOMITABLE??)

This skin is still in bmp format, making is usable in 1stGen insalls. All new decals were created for Codes and serial numbers. Decal randomization is TRUE. As all the markings are decals, it would be quite easy for other skinners to recreate other RN squadrons that used this mark Sea Hurri, as the Temperate Sea Scheme was used throughout the North Atlantic and Med.
*NOTE: decal randomization will NOT work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. The sepearte Decals folder should work fine in all installs, possibly even down to 06 1stGen levels. This has not, and cannot be. tested by me as I have no 1stGen installs left!*

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    12. SF2 WW2 ETO Spitfire 9C, 411 Squadron Skin Pak

      SF2 WW2 ETO Spitfire 9C, 411 Squadron Skin Pak

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
**SF2:E Expansion Pak 2 REQUIRED to have the Spitfire 9c**

A reskinning of the stock 3W Spit 9C to 411 "City of York" Squadron RCAF during WW2 in Western Europe.
Skins remain in their 'lorez' 512 size, and are still in bmp format. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. All marking on the aircraft, excepting the Sky fuselage band are decals. This will make it exceptionally easy for skinners to create other RAF squadrons of this time period.

Included are modified data and loadout inis. See 'changes' in the Notes section for full listing. And, for you viewing pleasure, brand NEW Hangar and Loading screens. The assumption (oh! that word!!) is being made that you've already made the aircraft player flyable, so no cockpit bits are included. Neither is my "One Click Restore Main Ini" (patent pending).

The canopy has been activated via the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0
No weapons or pilot figures are included; you should have them already.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    13. SF2 WW2 ETO BoB Hurricane 1A, 303 Squadron Skin

      SF2 WW2 ETO BoB Hurricane 1A, 303 Squadron Skin

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: it's quite possible it can be used in 1stGens, but this has not been tested. Those that
do, well, let me know if worked!! <grin>**

This pak contains the decals necessary to (re)create the Hurricane Mk.1A as used by No. 303
Squadron (Polish) during the Battle of Britain.

This ini/decal pak (as there's no skin included) is for Raven's Mk.1, available at the
      following url:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13646-sf2-ww2-hawker-hurricane-ia-etobob-by-raven/

As stated in the original aircraft release, it uses Brain32's "Multiple Use Skin Trik", and
references the skin maps and other decals included in the above pak. Therefore, NO skin maps
are included in THIS pak. So, you MUST have the original aircraft listed above to add this pack
      to.
All that's really included in this pak are the inis, Squadron Code letter and squadron badge
decals. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read
      them!!!

A new skin for the TMF/ModMafia Spitfire Mk.1A, representing 603 "City of Edinburgh" Squadron around the time of the Battle of Britain.

Like the original release of the TMF/MM Spit 1, it uses a pool of plane-in-group letters and serial numbers, so you MUST have to original release of the TMF/MM Spitfire Mk.1a to apply this pack to. The only thing different is the squadron code decal, XT.

If you don't have this Spitfire, it's available at the following url:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13510-sf2-ww2-spitfire-mk1a-by-mod-mafiatmf/

The SRAF received 22 Mark 22 Spitfires from Britain in 1951, and these were used to form two fighter squadrons until 1954 when they began to be replaced with Vampires. The final Spitfire was withdrawn in 1956; most aircraft were sold on to Syria, although SR64 and SR65 remained in Rhodesia. SR64 was subsequently rebuilt and restored to airworthiness but crashed in 1982, killing its pilot.

This uses an essentially unmodified data.ini and loadout.ini as supplied in the initial DLC pack.Nationality entries have been changed to read 'Rhodesia' but are otherwise unchanged.

Serials include 20 of the known serials for the two batches of Spitfires.

There is some disagreement about the actual colour of these aircraft; some say High-Speed Silver, others pale grey-blue. I believe both are probably correct, as the aircraft will have been delivered in RAF Silver and may subsequently have been painted pale blue.

The cockpit is by Kesselbrut and used with gratitude in accordance with the CA fair use agreement.

I have no idea where the pilot came from, but thank you anyway!

    21. SF2 WW2 ETO Spitfire 1A, 602 Squadron Skin Pak

      SF2 WW2 ETO Spitfire 1A, 602 Squadron Skin Pak 10/25/2013

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

A new skin for the TMF/ModMafia Spitfire Mk.1A, representing 602 "City of Glasgow" Squadron around the time of the Battle of Britian (ish).

REMINDER: this is for the TMF/MM Spit 1 ONLY!!!

Like the original release of the TMF/MM Spit 1, it uses a pool of plane-in-group letters and serial numbers, so you MUST have to original release of the TMF/MM Spitfire Mk.1a to apply this pack to. The only thing different is the squadron code decal, LO.

If you don't have this Spitfire, it's available at the following url:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13510-sf2-ww2-spitfire-mk1a-by-mod-mafiatmf/

The skin is in jpg format, Decal Randomization is TRUE. The Squadron Crest is used for the paint chip, as seen on the loading screen

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please READ them

    22. SF2 WW2 Hurricane IIb RAF, CBI

      SF2 WW2 Hurricane IIb RAF, CBI 12/15/2013

      = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

      - For WW2 CBI Usage =ONLY!= -

*Note: There is a distinct possibility that this mod MAY work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However, many features will not be functional. End Users that choose to use this in SF/Wo* do so on their own.*

While this mod CAN be used on the older (earlier) releases of the Hurricane, it's designed for use on the latest Hurricane IIB Ver 3.0 (hence it's delayed release), available at the following URL:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13630-hurricane-mkiib/

The skin represents No.17 Squadron, when they first arrived in theatre (India) in late 1941/early 42, and as used in Burma. The skin remains in BMP format. All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE.

Included are modified main and data inis that have some very minor changes (component removals, new engine sound, slightly repositioned pilot, and so forth).

An SF2-converted version of the NEW 44 gallon drop tank (from V.3) is included; everything else you should already have. A new hangar screen, somewhat theatre themed, is included.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please -READ- them. In fact, as we're creating a theatre-specific version, READ the install instructions AFTER unzipping, but BEFORE installing this mod!!! Seriously, DO it!!!
Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth.

      Good Hunting!

    24. SF2 WW2 CBI Hurricane IIC (Trop) Skin & Tweeks Pak

SF2 WW2 CBI Hurricane IIC (Trop) Skin & Tweeks Pak 1/24/2014

-- Something for the WW2 CBI players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some
features (decal randomization and others) will =NOT= be functional. Use in
1stGens has not, and cannot be, tested by me.*

**Note x2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a WW2 CBI-Centric mods
folder. Some Theatre specific changes have been effected, and should =ONLY= be
      used in the CBI!!!**

This is =NOT= the full aircraft; you'll be adding all this stuff to the
original (ok, Ver.4). It's available at the following URL:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13254-hurricane-mkiic/

Some mods, tweeks, and 2 new skin/decal sets for Raven's Hurricane IIC Trop, as
seen in India and Burma during WW2.
      Included are 2 skins for:

      No. 135 Squadron, RAF
No. 2 Squadron "Winged Arrows", Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF)

The squadron patch will be seen as the paint chip for each skin on the Loadout
      screen.
Neither unit carried Squadron codes, and both make use of a pool of plane-in-
group letters and serial numbers. The serials should be considered 'generic' in
nature, as they represent no particular aircraft with these units, but ARE
      correct for the variant depicted.
Skins remain in their bmp format, and as both units were painted alike, resides
in the MAIN aircraft folder. This will NOT interfere with other skins you may
have, residing in their individual folders
      Several new inis are included;

      Main
      Data (with some small tweeks)
      Loadout (again, with small tweeks)

A new-ish, SF2 version of the original uploads 44 gal drop tank (with pylon),
creates a new, seperate version of this weapon. It will NOT conflict with any
others, and is designed for use on THIS aircraft. No other weapons or guns are
indluded; you should have them already.
The AvHistory Merlin engine sound is included, as is a new SF2 style hangar
      screen.
Canopy Opens/Closes via the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE.

The skins have been run through the template (thank you Raven for that!), and
have had a layer of dirt and 'clouds' added for weathering.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are
      included. PLEASE read them!!

    25. SF2 WW2 ETO Short Stirling Tweeks Pak

SF2 WW2 ETO Short Stirling Tweeks Pak 3/26/2014

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

Some tweeks for Veltro2K's recently released Stirling Mk.I. What this pack does, is activate ALL the included Squadron Code decals by creating skin folders for those squadrons.

If you don't have it already, you can get the aircraft at the following link:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/14668-short-stirling-mk1/

(in other words, install the aircraft 1st, THEN this Tweeks Pack)

As the decals and the ini in the above release are set up for the as-yet-to-be-released ETO All Inclusive mod by the DAT, we are missing the necessary files to create the selection drop down to choose which squadron gets what.
This mod creates new skin folders, albeit with the original skin maps (more on that later), and activates the squadron code decals for the following RAF Bomber Command units:

      No. 7 Squadron
      No. 15 Squadron
No. 75 "New Zealand" Squadron (original NCamo skin)
      No. 90 Squadron
      No. 149 "East India" Squadron
No. 214 "Federated Malay States" Squadron
      No. 218 "Gold Coast" Squadron

The Squadron crest for each is used for the 'color patch' as seen on the Loadout Screen.
My (patent pending) "Box Art" Hangar and Loading screens are included, as are new DDS damage textures.

You will be moving (read: copy/paste) the original skin maps to the MAIN aircraft folder (ala Brain 32's trick). As all BC aircraft of the time were painted the same, this creates no issues.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them after unzipping, but BEFORE installing, and FOLLOW them exactly as I've written them!!!

      Caveat:

BE ADVISED, THIS MOD IS =NOT= TO BE USED WHEN THE DAT RELEASES THEIR ETO PAK. IT IS DESIGNED FOR USE ONLY BY THOSE END USERS ™ THAT CANNOT ACCESS THEIR DOWNLOADS. IT IS DESIGNED FOR USE IN A STANDARD OR "GARDEN VARIETY" WW2 ETO MODS FOLDER, =NOT= FOR THEIR ALL-INCLUSIVE MOD.

      Happy Landings!!
