    1. WW2 PTO PV-1 Ventura (Mid)

      SF2 WW2 PTO Pv-1 Ventura (Mid) by Veltro2K        9/2/2014
-- Something for the WW2 PTO players --
      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
**Note: This mod will -NOT- work in 1stGen game installs at any patch level. A Full-5 merged is reccomended.**
This is a the release of Veltro2K's =NEW= Lockheed/Vega PV-1 Ventura USN Patrol Bomber. This represents the mid-production solid nosed, with 2-guns as used in the PTO.
There are 4 skin/decals set(s) in the package:
USN (42-43, NS Blue over NS Grey, star-and-ball)
      USN43 (star-&-bar, 3 tone)
      and
RNZAF (dark blue over grey mid-war light blue roundels)
RNZAF43 (dark blue overgrey, roundel-and-bar, various Pacfic Places (tm) )
The skins use the SF2 "date switch", and will change in approx September, 1943
Although the US Navy skins are tagged for various VB/VPB squadrons, they are representative of pretty much ALL USN PTO Ventura units from Australia to the Aleutians.
The RNZAF skins, while tagged for No.3 Squadron, are also fairly representative of NZ units in the SoWesPac regions of the PTO.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Serial number/BuNums are accurate for the model depicted, but should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they reprsent no specific unit. Lighting is as accurate as possible, given the lack of pictures of the bottom.
Engine sounds, pilot figures, Hangar & Loading Screens are included. Weapons, guns, bombs, etc, are NOT; you should have them already.  Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months', and ARE relatively correct for ALL in-theatre usages.
      When in game, you'll see
      PV-1 Ventura (Mid) (v2k)
on the Aircraft Selection Drop down menu. As several versions are planned, this will help keep them diferentiated, so to speak.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!!
      Happy Landings!!

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

This is a the release of Veltro2K's =NEW= Lockheed/Vega PV-1 Ventura USN Patrol Bomber. This represents the late-production solid nosed, with 5 guns (3 in a 'chin pak' under the nose) as used in the PTO.
There are 1 skin/decals set(s) in the package:
      USN (star-&-bar, 3 tone)
Although the skin is tagged for VPB-137 (Phillipine based in late 44), it is representative of pretty much ALL USN PTO Ventura units from Australia to the Aleutians.
Weapons, guns, bombs, etc, for the most part, are NOT; you should have them already. However, a set of HVAR mounts, the rockets themselves, and the drop tank is.  Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months', and ARE relatively correct for ALL in-theatre usages.
      When in game, you'll see
      PV-1 Ventura (Late) (v2k)
on the Aircraft Selection Drop down menu. As several versions are planned, this will help keep them diferentiated, so to speak.

    3. C-60 Lodestar

      SF2 WW2 C-60 Lodestar by Veltro2K        9/15/2014
       -- Something for the WW2 players --
      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
**Note: This mod will -NOT- work in 1stGen game installs at any patch level.A Full-5 merged is reccomended.**
This is a the release of Veltro2K's =NEW= Lockheed/Vega Model 18 Lodestar transport/light cargo aircraft. This represents the C-57 type as used by US airline companies, impressed into military service, and new build C-60s. In reality, this was the first of the type, the Ventura and later the Harpoon being evolutions of this airframe.
There are 2 skin/decals set(s) in the package:
AAF (early 42-43, star-and-ball (withOUT red center) )
      AAF43 (star-&-bar)
both are in standard USAAF OD/NG
      and
NM (a natural metal finsh for late war, or civilian users)
The OD skins use the SF2 "date switch", and will change in approx September, 1943. The NM skin is only selectable via the usual drop-down on the Loadout Screen.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Serial number are accurate for the model depicted, but should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they reprsent no specific unit.
Engine sounds, pilot figures are included, but there is NO Hangar Screen, as transports really don't have anything to do in the SF/SF2 series. Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months', and ARE relatively correct for ALL in-theatre usages.
Like the Venturas, the cabin door is operated by the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0. It is also set for the parked animation, so as to be Open when sitting on the ramp.
      When in game, you'll see
      C-60 Lodestar (v2k)
on the Aircraft Selection Drop down menu. As different versions are planned, this will help keep them diferentiated, so to speak.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!!  Give the Notes section a read, too!

This is a the release of Veltro2K's =NEW= Lockheed/Vega PV-2 Harpoon USN Patrol Bomber.
There are 2 skin/decals set(s) in the package:
      USN (star-&-bar, 3 tone for WW2)
DGNB (dark gloss Navy blue overall, post-war)
Although the 3 tone skin is tagged for VPB-138 (Northern Pacific/Aleutian Islands region), it is representative of pretty much ALL USN PTO Ventura units from Australia to the Aleutians.
The DGNB skin is tagged for VP-772, a post-war reserve squadron based at NAS Los Alimitos, California circa 1948. The base blue skin can also be used for several of the other post-war users.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Serial number/BuNums are accurate for the model depicted, but should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they reprsent no specific unit. Lighting is as accurate as possible, given the lack of pictures of the bottom.
Engine sounds, pilot figures, and a 'box art' Hangar Screen are included. Weapons, guns, bombs, etc, for the most part, are NOT; you should have them already. However, a set of HVAR mounts, the rockets themselves, and the drop tank is.  Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months', and ARE relatively correct for ALL in-theatre usages.

    5. Republic P-47C Thunderbolt (ETO) by Cocas

      SF2 WW2 ETO Republic P-47C Thunderbolt 12/8/2014

      = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!)

*This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, at any patch level. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.*

This is a BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co.
We are calling this "version 0.9", as there exists the possibility of more work being required. But, we wanted to get them out into the hands of our WW2 End Users ™ for their examinations and so forth.

This pak contains a NEW model, representing the P-47C Thunderbolt as seen in early to mid 1943 when first arriving in England. There is one "base" skin map, and the marking represent the...

      334th FS, 4th FG

This was the first "combat ready" version of the Jug, but was quickly superceded by later improved models (D Razorback), hence it short operational life. This has the bulged keel, with provision for a single drop tank or bomb. This should be the equlivant of the C-5-RE version.

All markings are decals; this will allow super easy creation of other squadrons by simply creating a new SCode decal, although those with a purer historical heart will also have to run down the matching serial numbers for their decal creation. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.
The mod has the correct nose arts, matched to plane-in-squadron letters and serial numbers for the 334th FS.
All the 1stGen Hangar and/or Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format, and fit SF2 styling. Damage textures are also new, in DDS format.
The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0

Even though there is no other P-74Cs available, when in game you'll see:

      P-47C Thunderbolt (CAF)

on the aircraft selection dropdown menu.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!!

    6. SF2 WW2 MTO P-40L Pak by Raven

      SF2 WW2 MTO USAAF P-40L Pak by Raven 12/18/2014

-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this pak MAY be usable in 1stGen SF/Wo* game installs. However, some features (decal randomization and FM adjustments and several other things) will =NOT= be functional. Use in 1stGens has not, and cannot be, tested by me.*

**Note x2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in a MTO-Centric mods folder**

At first, (as usual!!) I was just going to do a simple skin/decals pack. But with all the "modifications" made to fit into SF2 chose to take the "lazy man's way out" and am just uploading the entire aircraft. So, if you already have Raven's P-40L in your MTO-centric mods folder, best to back it up someplace.

This is the full aircraft, with my 'tweeked' sf2-ish data ini. The skin included is for...

317th FS, 325th FG (the Checkertails)

as seen from late 1943 in North Africa and points North. This is the timeframe BEFORE the 325th converted to P-47s.
The original "OD_Green" skin is included, as the #2 texture, and has it's decals randomized. It carries the "star-and-ball" of 1942 thru Sept 43 insignia.
As a second option, I've included a "generic" MTO light earth/dark earth/grey unders camo skin. If one wants to use that type in place of the OD, I'd advise moving or renaming the OD skin maps !!BEFORE!! doing anything else.
All Skins remain in their bmp format.
New DDS damage textures (usable on all Raven's Warhawk/Kittyhawk in SF2 only) are included.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are no nose arts.
No weapons are included, excepting SF2 Version of the 2 drop tanks required (for those that haven't converted yet). New theatre-specific Hangar and Loading screens are included, too.

When in-game, on the aircraft selection drop-down, you'll see

      P-40L-10 CU (Raven)

This will diferentiate this for any other Warhawks you may (or may not) have.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!! Also, please give the "Notes" section a read as well

    7. SF2 WW2 MTO Republic P-47D "Razorback" Thunderbolt by Cocas

      SF2 WW2 MTO Republic P-47D "Razorback" Thunderbolt 12/22/2014

      = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!)

*This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs.

REMINDER: this pack contains MTO Jugs only!!! Other theatres/users will follow as time permits, and as they are completed.

This pak contains a NEW model, representing the Razorback P-47D Thunderbolt in the MTO as seen in late 1943 through war's end.

      Skins included are:

      15th AF:

317th FS, 325th FG - this is withOUT the Checkertail markings
317th FS, 325th FG - this is WITH the Checkertail marking; called "317FS_L"

The "L (or Late)" skin uses the SF2 'start date switch', to turn on automatically in April, 1944. By this time, they had finished painting all the checks on all the tails of all the planes in all the 325th's squadrons. These were carried until the Group converted to Mustangs (and had to start all over painting the checks again!!).

The aircraft is finished in standard OD/Grey, with MTO theatre markings on the cowl.
All markings are decals; excepting the 325th Checkertail and MTO theatre markings; these are painted on. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.
There is one base set of decals for both skins. As this is for just one squadron, it makes for a sligtly smaller up/down load package.
There -are- some nose arts, and you'll find them listed with the individual aircraft number drop down on the Loadout Screen. They are matched to their 'plane-in-squadron' Battle Number.
Damage textures are new, in DDS format. The Hangar Screen is a rather 'generic' type.
The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0
Pilots, sounds, weapons are all included.

Templates for this aircraft will be issued as a seperate release, for those skinners that wish to do other units for other theatres or Allied users.

As there are several P-74D Razorbacks available, when in game you'll see:

      P-47D-20 Thunderbolt (CAF)

on the aircraft selection dropdown menu. This will diferentiate it from any others that are around (Wolf or DAT).

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes" section a read, too.

    8. SF2 Post-War TB-25J Mitchell Pak

      SF2 Post-War TB-25J Mitchell Pak 4/5/2015

-- Something just for fun! --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

**Note: This mod references the stock destroyed Il-28. Also, due to modifications to various inis, this mod will -NOT- work in 1stGen game installs at any patch level. This has not/cannot/will not be tested by me.**

This little mod represents TB-25J (glass nosed) Mitchells in serivce with the USAF in the post-WW2 time frame. Many of these aircraft were retained and converted to personal transports, navigational & multi-engine trainers, or squadron 'hacks' up until the late 1950s. The aircraft is completely unarmed. However, "those that know how" can readily turn the aircraft to it's original status and function. (see Notes for details).

The aircraft is finished in Natural Metal (withOUT the late 50s white fues top or black "anti-soot" nacelles), and carries standard post-1947 USAF marking, including Buzz Numbers. The skin is in jpg format and all markings are decals. Decal Randomization is TRUE. Engine sounds, pilot figures, and a "couple of other things" are included.

      When in game, you'll see

      TB-25J Mitchell (v2k)

on the Aircraft Selection Drop down menu. This will differentiate it from any other B-25s you may (or may not) have. (even though there ARE no other TB-25s!!)

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!!
Remember, an aircraft like this one, saved the world from The Giant Claw!!!

    9. SF2 WW2 ETO Republic P-47D "Bubbletop" Thunderbolt (0.5 Beta)

      SF2 WW2 ETO Republic P-47D "Bubbletop" Thunderbolt (0.5 Beta) 12/15/2014

      = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!)

*This mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. It was built for SF2 ONLY!!.*

This is a BRAND NEW aircraft, brought to you by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co.
We are calling this "version 0.5 beta", as there are a few minor issues with the LOD, and
these will repaired as Real Life ™ allows. But, we wanted to get them out into the
hands of our WW2 End Users ™ for their examinations and so forth. See Notes below for a
      more detailed explanation.

REMINDER: this pack contains ETO Bubbletop Jugs =ONLY=!!! Other theatres/users will follow
as time permits, and as they are completed.

This pak contains, as stated above, a NEW aircraft, representing the Bubbletop P-47D (-25
thru -30-ish) Thunderbolt as seen in late 1943 through war's end.
      Skins included are:

      8th AF
      56th Fighter Group :

      61st FS (early 44, OD/G)
      62nd FS (mid/late 44-45), camo)
63rd FS (sometime in 44, NM)

      and

      9th AF:
379th FS, 362nd FG (full D-Day markings, NM)

All markings are decals. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.
Please note, Squadron or Group specific markings -ARE- painted on, as are the Invasion
Stripes. There are some nose arts.

All the 1stGen Hangar and/or Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created
new for this package. They are in jpg format, and fit SF2 formatting. Damage textures are
also new, in DDS format. There are 2 different Loading Screens, and you can swap them as
      you see fit.
The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0
Pilots, sounds, weapons are all included.
Templates for this aircraft ARE included, for those skinners that wish to do other units,
or other theatres, or Allied users (and see my appeal in the "Notes" section <grin>). The
template is in the main zip of the package, so don't forget to move it OUT of your mods
folder or things might get confusing!

As there are several P-74D Bubbletops available, when in game you'll see:

      P-47D-20 Thunderbolt (CAF)

on the aircraft selection dropdown menu. This will diferentiate it from any others that
you may (or may not) have.
As some units are repeated, those with the mods I built for Wolf's Jugs, can choose to
keep those, or remove them to storage.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE
read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes" section a read, too.

Pilots, sounds, weapons are all included.

As there are several P-74D Bubbletops available, when in game you'll see:

      P-47D-25 Thunderbolt (CAF)

on the aircraft selection dropdown menu. This will diferentiate it from any others that you may (or may not) have.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as usual, give the "Notes" section a read, too.

    11. SF2 WW2 PTO P-40B/C Tomahawk (USAAC) Pack

      SF2 WW2 PTO P-40B/C Tomahawk (USAAC) Pack 5/01/2015

-- Something for the WW2 PTO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: this mod is most likely =NOT= usable in 1stGen installs at any patch level. This may be due to the use of a 'late model' cockpit.*

**Notex2: this mod is designed for use ONLY in a PTO-Centric mods folder**

This package contains a SF2 version of Raven's P-40B/C Tomahawk, in use by the USAAC just before, and during, the opening months of The Pacific War. While considered a 'beta', the aircraft is 100% all there. As I understood it, the beta tag is ONLY because the cockpit was never finished. In that light, I've substituted one of Stary's Generic Cockpits ™.

      The skins included are:

47th PS, 15th PG, Bellows Field, Hawaii, December 1941 "Pearl Harbor Defender"
      20th PS, 24th PG, Phillipines, December 1941
DOD41 - representative of aircraft from August to November 1941

Skins maps remain in their bmp format. The SF2 'date switch' is NOT used on any of these skins.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. The Hangar screen is a revamped Sf2 version of my original "AvArt". All sounds, drop tank and pilot figure are included. Guns are not, as they're stock items. Service dates are rounded to "whole months". The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0. Be advised, this aircraft has a short service life, as the E models were already in service when the US entered the war.

      When in-game, you'll see

      P-40B/C Tomahawk (Raven)

On the aircraft selection drop-down. This will diferentiate it from Wolf's P-40B/C mod. In fact, =THIS= mod is designed to replace, completely, any and all earlier versions.

    12. SF2 WW2 AVG "Flying Tigers" Tomahawk Pack V.2

      SF2 WW2 AVG "Flying Tigers" Tomahawk Pack V.2 5/2/2015

-- Something for the CBI players --

      = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. This mod is designed to REPLACE, in its entirety, the one based on Wolf's Tomahawk. See Install instructions for more information.*

**Notex2: These aircraft should ONLY be used in a seperate CBI-centric mods folder to prevent them from showing up where, historically, they shouldn't. The Aircraft & GroundObject sets for CBI are substantially different from Central or SouthWest Pacific areas.**

This is a re-compilation of Baltika's beautiful P-40B/C Tomahawk "Flying Tigers" Pack for use in CBI-based WW2 installs. It has been converted for use on Raven's P-40B/C. Consider this as 'Version 2'.

It contains 99.9% Historically Accurate ™ serial numbers, Individual aircraft numbers and squadron markings.
This mod creates a seperate, nationalized version, called "Tomahawk_AVG". Be sure your WW2 Nations ini contains the 'country', AVG!

      This pak contains skins/decals for:

      1st Pursuit "Adam & Eves"
      2nd Pursuit "Panda Bears"
      3rd Pursuit "Hell's Angles"

All markings, excepting squadron color bands, are decals. Decal Randomization is TRUE. All items, sounds, pilot figure, excepting guns, are included. Provisions have been allowed for use of a drop tank, but all research indicates the AVG never used (or had!) them. Also, no bombs are carried. Any ground attacking will be 'guns only'. The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0.
As Raven't Tomahawk is considered a beta, due to the cockpit being unfinished, this mod uses one of Stary's 'Generic Pits'.

Operational service dates for the aircraft have been limited to the actual spread; 12/21/41 - 7/4/42. To that end, Userlist.ini was created to help 'lock them in'. (it is known however, that some of the AVG Tomahawks DID operate with the newly formed 23rd FG, when taken under USAAF control).

      When in game you'll see

      Tomahawk AVG (Raven)

on the aircraft selection drop down. This will diferentitate it from the original, based on Wolf's Tomahawk.

As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them =BEFORE= installing, but (duh!) after unzipping. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Baltika's original readme for the Flying Tigers Mod is included for historical purposes.

SF2 WW2 MTO Tomahawk IIB (RAF) Pack 5/01/2015

**Notex2: this mod is designed for use ONLY in a MTO-Centric mods folder**

This package contains a SF2 version of Raven's P-40B/C Tomahawk, as used by the RAF and Commonwealth squadrons in the Western Desert and Palestine. While considered a 'beta', the aircraft is 100% all there. As I understood it, the beta tag is ONLY because the cockpit was never finished. In that light, I've substituted one of Stary's Generic Cockpits ™.

      The skins included are:

      No 112 Squadron
      No 250 "Sudan" Squadron
      No 4 Squadron (SAAF)
      No 3 Squadron (RAAF)*

As seen in Palestine, Egypt and the Western Desert.
All but No 3 RAAF are finished in standard "day desert'. *No 3 RAAF is painted in standard "temperate day", as seen in Europe. I was unable to determine when (or even IF) 3 Squadron RAAF repainted their aircraft to the desert scheme, but thought it would be a nice change. One can always swap out the skins for the desert versions.
No 3 RAAF was one of the earliest in the MTO to use them in Palestine against Vichy forces, but the SF2 date switch is NOT used on it, or any of the others. Other squadrons can be created by simply making a new squadron letters decal.
Skins maps remain in their bmp format.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. All aircraft use a 'pool' of plane-in-squadron letters and serial numbers. Excepting 112 Squadron, where all serials ARE 100% historically correct. The others, while correct for this mark, are to be considered generic in nature.
The Hangar screen is a revamped Sf2 version of my original "AvArt". All sounds, drop tank and pilot figure are included. Guns & RAF bombs are not, as they're available in the various WW2 Weapons and Guns Packs. Service dates are rounded to "whole months". The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0.

    14. SF2 WW2 BT2D "Skyraider" (AD-1)

      SF2 WW2 BT2D "Skyraider" (AD-1) 7/21/2016

"A Somewhat What If aircraft for WW2 PTO '46"

**Note: consider this 'version 3.0', replacing the SF/Wo* version based on MontyCZ Skyraider I'd done many years ago. THIS version replaces that one completely. Delete it if you still have it.**

*Note you =MUST= have SF2:V as part of your merged install, as the mod references the stock A-1H lod for the aircraft.*

The is a semi-what if aircraft, as the BT2D did exist (and was renamed the AD-1 in 1947). This mod assumes that the aircraft WAS deployed to the Western Pacific in WW2, in the event that the development and/or usage of the A-Bombs was curtailed for some reason.

The aircraft comes with three skin/decal sets (although only one actual skin residing in the main folder; the "Brain32 trick".)

      VB-14 (USS WASP)
      VT-88 (USS YORKTOWN)
      VB-19 (USS CORAL SEA)

The skin remains in bmp format. All markings are decals and decal randomization is TRUE. All Aircraft carry the new style (post-July 1945) "letter code" ship identification tags. These ARE correct for the time from 7/45 - 12/46(ish). VT88 & VB19 also make use the "hundreds" series modex numbers, which also started usage 7/45. VB14 remains with is double digit modex numbers. Several other ship ID code decal are provided, for those wishing to replace other SB2C & TBM units with the BT2D. Other units can be easily made if one knows their code letters (I do!) Other units may require new, different sequenced modex number decals.

All weapons, sounds and a pilot figure are included. The canopy opens with the standard keystroke, Shift/0 (zero). Wingfold is active, by using it's standard keystroke, Shift/9, but it's not reccomended to fold the wings when loaded, as due to some sort of game limitation, the weapons will NOT move with the wing (no matter how much I've tried to fix that).
The aircraft has been given a "start date' of of June, 1945.
The aircraft is equipped with radar, (AN/APS-4) in an external pod, and is speced to carry and deploy just about all USN weapons of the period, including "Bat" glide bombs, and torpedos.

As always, unzip this to a temp folder somwhere, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions.

    15. SF2 WW2 F8F-1 Bearcat (PTO)

      SF2 WW2 F8F-1 Bearcat 7/22/2016

"A Somewhat What If aircraft for WW2 PTO '46"

***Note: Due to massive changes in the skins, decals, and inis, if you have created a WW2 Version of the Bearcat, you ARE advised to move, remove, rename or otherwise hide it from the Game Engine. THIS mod will cause conflicts, due to aforementioned changes, with many of the original parts.***

This full aircraft package includes mods to Geo's F8F Bearcat, (re)creating the original 600-odd F8F-1 versions as deployed from August, 1945, just as the War ended. I've made the assumption, for PTO '46 users, that the A-Bombs, for whatever reason, were not used and the aircraft entered full squadron service for Operations Olympic and Coronet.
See the 'Changes' section in the "Notes" below.

The package includes 2 skin & decal sets:

VF-19 (USS Langley, CVL-27) as seen in 8/45, enroute to the War Zone, as the war ended)
VF-3 (USS Coral Sea, if the CVB class carriers had entered the war in the later parts of 1945)

With the exception of the nation marking, which remain painted on, all other markings are decals. Decal randomization is TRUE. Many are by Geo from the original release. Other (modex) are by me. The ship code letters ARE correct for the late 45 thru late 46 time frame. The skins have been partly repained to remove the incorrect "G" system marking used on the orignal VF-19 skin. Skins remain in bmp format. As they carry no markings, this will allow other skinners the freedom to create other carrier air group codes, although new modex numbers will probably be required as well.
The hangar screen is an SF2 version of my 1st Gen "Box Art" one.

All weapons (drop tanks), sounds and a pilot figure are included. Other weapons used (rocket, bombs, etc) use those you should already have in the WW2 Weapons Pack.

The canopy opens with the standard keystroke, Shift/0 (zero). Wingfold is =NOT= active, as it never was when originally released in 2006. The aircraft is NOT exported, having only the single user, the US Navy.
The aircraft has been given a Service Start Date of of July, 1945. The data ini contains a new (if somewhat experimental FM, but MUCH closer to stated performances). It may require further fine tuning by experts; to that end I've included the USN BuAer's "Standard Performance" chart PDF within the main aircraft folder. This is for those remaining FM gurus to use, if they wish, to further refine the FM.

As always, unzip this to a temp folder somwhere, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. PLEASE read it before installing, ok?
As always, read the "Notes" section for notes and other ramblings

    16. SF2 WW2 ETO P-47D-40 (Late)

      SF2 WW2 ETO P-47D-40 (Late) Pak 7/23/2017

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

The package represents late model P-47D (bubble top) Thunderbolts as used by the 9th Air Force in the European Theatre of Operations. It represents the -40 version with the additional fin fillet (which can and was also retrofitted to earlier marks). This aircraft is also equipped with "compressibility flaps", that first appeared on the D-30 block
This is a brand NEW version, and can be used to replace any earlier mods of this block, or as a replacement for those "no longer available" for download by everyone.

This is a complete aircraft package, and contains all the items necessary. The Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0 (zero) is used to open and close the canopy. The "compressibility flaps" operate with the standard 'airbrakes' key (as that's kind of what they are, sort of).

2 skins are included, both for 9th AF squadrons:

22nd FS, 36th FG (post 6/44, Invasion stripes on bottom only) 3T squadron code

      394th FS, 367nd FG (post 1/45) 4N squadron code

The SF2 "date switch" is used on the 394th skin, and will automatically be selected from January 1945. Users that do not wish this feature, can easily disable it in the Textureset.ini.

Both aircraft are in Natural Metal finish, excepting for any squadron color designators, which are painted on. All markings are decals; a pool of serials and 'plane-in-squadron' letters are used on both skins, with decals for the squadron ID numbers/letters. The serial numbers, while correct for this model (D-40) should be considered 'generic' in nature, not representing specific aircraft or units. There are no nose arts. Decal randomization is TRUE.

      When in-game, you'll see

      P-47D-30/40 Thunderbolt (CAF)

on the aircraft selection drop down screen. This diferentiates it from any other Thunderbolts of these block numbers you may (or may not) have.

    18. Vultee P-66 Vanguard

The Vultee P-66 Vanguard was a United States Army Air Forces fighter aircraft. It was initially ordered by Sweden, but by the time the aircraft were ready for delivery in 1941, the United States would not allow them to be exported, designating them as P-66s and retaining them for defensive and training purposes. Eventually, a large number were sent to China where they were pressed into service as combat aircraft with mixed results.

      SF2 WW2 ETO YB-40 Destroyer by Veltro2K
-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --
      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
This is the release of the YB-40 by Veltro2k, an extensively modified B-17F that was experimentaly used by the 8th AF as an escort placed with regular B-17 formations. The aircraft depicted here were those 12 used by the 92nd Bombardment Group (H), 327th Bomb Squadron based at RAF Alconbury.
All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Serial numbers and plane-in-squadron letter are 100% historical and are matched to their proper aircraft.
2 skins are supplies; the only difference is one uses the early 'star-and-ball' (pre-Sept 43). The other uses the 'star-and-bar' (post-Sept 43). Both skins are Olive Drab over Neutral Gray. The aircraft has less than a one year service life, nearly approximating the Real World (tm) usage.
      When in-game, you'll see
      YB-40 Flying Fortress (v2k)
on the aircraft selection drop-down list.

    20. SF2 P-51D/K Mustang by Crisis Remod Pack

SF2 P-51D/K Mustang by Crisis Remod Pack       1/28/2024
      -For SF2, Any and All-
      Another 1stGen Salvage Project...
This is an SF2 Remod of P-51D Mustang by crisis. Historically this was one of the first aircraft mods released for SF1 in approx 2008. While the model still has some issues (see "Notes"), it's fully functional, and has been upgraded for the SF2 environment. I believe this will be a complimentary aircraft for the stock 3W Mustang (and others).
This mod is supplied with just about all the original skin sets I could find from the 1stGen SF mods section and from Marcfighters archive. Unfortunately, several were not up to snuff, with inaccurate coloration, or had painted-on markings that make it impossible to allow the use of the superb 3W decal system. Therefore several, while replicating the originals, are new builds. These were made from a new template, and it is included. These skin sets cover US Army Air Force (WW2 ETO), USAF (post-war), Korean War units for the USAF, RoKAF, SAAF, and Israeli Air Force directly post-WW2 and during the 1956 Suez Crisis.. Several of the included skins make use of decal sets I created for other mods, as you all know how I hate to waste good decals!!! :)
      You will find herein ...
      USAAF/USAF:
362nd FS,357th FG (ETO) -1944 start date (NMF)
375th FS, 361st FG (ETO) -Sept, 1944 start date (Camo/NMF/Invasion Stripes under wing/fues)
"USAFSilver", Generic NMF -10/1947 start date
12th FBS, 18th FBG (Korea) -1950 start date
      SAAF:
2 Sqdn, SAAF "Flying Cheetahs" -1950 start date
      IDFAF:
No.101 Sqdn (NMF) -1948 start date
No.116 Sqdn Blue/Brown Camo (1956<) -Suez Crisis camo scheme
      RoKAF:
51st PFS* (ROKAF) -Korean War. #18 is Col. Dean Hess' aircraft, with nose art
      *=Provisional Fighter Squadron
98.6% of the markings are decals, with some small exceptions (see notes). Decal randomization is TRUE.
While many skins had to be remade, some are still 'as issued' (un-retouched). All remain in bmp format. As is usual, serial numbers & 'plane in squadron letters' (WW2 & Korea) are as historically accurate as possible. Those fully 100% matched are marked with the star (*), those correct, but unable to match to a individual code letter are marked with the plus/cross (+), those with no mark are generic.
For those units listed in the game's SquadronList ini, my (patent pending) 'fake SqTail' decal is used to activate their name displayed on the Loadout screen. The SF2 'date switch' is used for all services on their respective skin sets.
Sounds and drop tanks are included. All weapons used are also included. If you End Users (tm) have the SF2I expansion that adds the Mustang and WW2 era weapon, feel free to edit the loadout ini to use those stock in-game 3rd Wire items. The data ini has been brought up, as much as possible, to current standards. The FM test drives as fully compatable with SF2.
      When in-game, you'll see
      P-51D/K Mustang (cr)
on the Aircraft Selection dropdown. This "(cr)" will differenize this one from the 3rd Wire or Wolf357's (and variations thereof). This mod DOES (sorta) cover both the D & K variants, as there's very little (actual) difference between them (one built in Inglewood, CA -D; the other in Dallas, TX -K; albeit with a different prop). Canopy acutation uses the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Also, give the "Notes" a browse, as it explains certain issues this model has, and the change logs.
      Good Hunting and Happy Landings!
