    1. D3A "Val" Pearl Harbor Air Groups

Aichi D3A "Val" Carrier Air Groups Skin Pak -- For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO installs

"Pearl Harbor Attackers" - The Dive Bombers

This package contains a set of 6 NEW skins for Pasko's D3A "Val", IJN carrier based dive bomber.

These skins are designed for a 'start of the war' time frame, up until approximately Feb/March 1942, when the paint scheme began to change from the 'light gray' to a 'camo green' for the stike aircraft.

The carrier dive bomber groups represented here are:

      Akagi
      Hiryu
      Kaga
      Shokaku
      Soryu
      Zuikaku

as seen on the morning of 7 December, 1941, during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. This is obviously the "start of the war" paint scheme, of the light gray. Some of these aircraft also operated over China, prior to the Hawaiian Operation, and wore this same paint job.

They are NOT 100% historical; there are a few certain liberties I've taken to make them more usable for a slightly longer timeframe than should be historically accurate (more in the "Other Notes" section below). In other words, some squadron and flight specific markings have NOT been created. Although simpler in execution, it does gaul my sense of propriety and my bent toward "as close to 100% accuracy as possible". Such is life! :(

The skin were created using a new template I created, based on the original skins, resized to 1024, with all new panel and rivet lines; all new individual aircraft tail codes for 18-21 aircraft (depending on the ship) have also been supplied.

Also included are modified data, loadout and cockpit inis. The loadout ini uses the correct WW2 Japanese bombs, the data and cockpit inis have been 'metric-ized' to show meters, kilometers per hour, etc (like I've done for several other Axis aircraft). NEW damage tgas have also been created and included, for that shot-up look. My Hangar and Loading screens are here as well, for those that might want to use them.

= IMPORTANT: These aircraft are designed for use in SF/WoV/WoE -ONLY-, It has =NOT= been tested it in post 8/28/08 patch WoI, or post 9/08 - 10/08 patch SF/WoV/WoE. You use it in these enviroments at YOUR own risk. =

= This mod is designed for use with the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06, as it contains all the needed weapons . If attempting to use this aircraft with any other weapons pak, you'll need to add ALL the WW2 era bombs, torpedoes, etc. They are NOT included in this package. =

Full, detailed instructions are in the enclosed readme. The Commander of the Combined Fleets REQUIRES that you read it ... or take the Honorable Way Out...

    6. Potez 633 - France 1940

      GBA I/51 France 1940

      Potez 633 B2 (5 aircraft)

In 1938 France ordered 449 Potez 633s but in May that year it was decided that all light bombers must have a crew of 3, so the aircraft was developed for export only. A bomb-bay filled the space between the plot and gunner in which the bombs were hung vertically.

35 aircraft (4 from a Chinese order, 20 from a Romanian order and 11 from a Greek order) were allocated to various squadrons in 1939-40 to fill gaps and to help transition pilots into the Breguet 693. These aircraft have "C", "G" and "R" in their serial numbers.

There were 20 aircraft in combat units (GBA I/51, II/51, I/54 and II/54) when the Germans invaded on 10 May 1940. GBA II/35 received the Potez 633 later that month. Only Potez 633s of II/51 saw combat, losing 5 aircraft.

A further aircraft, destined for China, got as far as French Indochina before being requisitioned into the Vichy Air Force for the defence of the colony.

Amended DATA and LOADOUT files are included.

    8. F2A-3 Buffalo, Update Pak

F2A-3 Buffalo, Skin and Ini Update Pak For SF/Wo*/SF2 PTO Installs

This is a semi-complete package for the Dev A-Team F2A Buffalo, in USN and USMC service at the beginning of World War 2.

It is semi-complete due to DAT rules, the aircraft lod is NOT included. So, you'll need the F2A-R2.LOD to compete this package. Everything else IS included.

3 skin/decal set are included; and there's 3 individual readmes, as I've combined all the earlier seperate downloads from my now-closed site, into one. I'd reccomend reading them all, if only for the historical reference

VF-2 "Flying Chiefs", USS Lexington, December 1941
VMF-212, MCAS Ewa, Territory of Hawaii, circa January 1942
VMF-221, Midway Island, June 1942 (yes, them). This skin is 100% historically accurate, with BuNum matched to Modex numbers for the aircraft assigned during the Battle of Midway. (shown in screenshot)

Canopy works via manual animation key, the standard Shift/0
Also included is the engine sound, and a pilot figure. NOTE: the pilot figure is set for 06 level, so you drop him into the root of the /Objects/Aircaft folder.

For SF2 usage, you'll get a new folder for him in the /Pilots sub-folder. In essence, you've got him twice!

Once unzipped, all you need to is drop the LOD into the /F2A folder, and off you go. I'd also advise reading each of the enclosed readmes.

*Note: while still designed with 06 SF/Wo* in mind, it should also be usable in 08 Level SF/Wo*. If used in 08s & SF2, be advised a completly new FM will be necessary. Also, cockpit repositioning will be needed for SF2. Post all questions & problems in the SF2 PropHead Forum. I'll get them worked out (excepting FMs and LOD issues)!*

    9. POTEZ 633 B2 Royal Romanian Air Force

      Potez 633 B2
      Royal Romanian Air Force

Contracts for two batches of 20 Potez 633 B2s were issued by the Romanian government and the first order was delivered in 1939. A new bomber group was set up for the new aircraft, Group 2, which included the 74th and 75th Squadrons.

On June 21 1941, Group 2 was placed under alert and at 20:00 Romania entered the war alongside Nazi Germany. In September 1941 another nine 633s from the Armee de l'Air d'Armistice were delivered. In September 1942 the 633s were operating over the Don and Stalingrad and were split between:
      - 1st Long Range Reconnaissance Squadron
      - 3rd Long Range Reconnaissance Squadron
      - 74th Light bomber Squadron

By spring 1943 the remaining 633s were withdrawn from combat and delivered to 1st Fighter wing for night flying instruction.

    10. VF-85 F4U-1c Decal Fix

      VF-85 F4U-1c Decal Fix

      For SF1/WOV/WOE PTO/CBI installs

This fixes the blank decal's that show up and stops the decal no show (hopefully). I have included a filler decal so when the game engine cycle’s the numbers there is a decal that will show. Just the VF-85 lightning bolt with no number.

To install: Unzip and just drop the VF-85 folder in to your F4U-1c folder, over right? Say Yes.
I have also updated the numbers.lst

      Lockheed P-38L Lightning - Italian Air Force - 3^ Stormo Caccia (1948-1954)
      Forgotten Lightnings Part 1
      ---skin for P-38L by Wolf257---
size: 2048x2048 (main .bmp, others in 512x512 and 256x256)

      -------------------Historical notes-----------
In the 1946, 100 Lightnings, parked in open storage at Napoli-Capodichino airfield, were assigned
to newborn Aeronautica Militare Italiana. The IMM (Industrie Meccaniche Meridionali, later Aerfer)
overhauled a total of 93 planes (including 20 recon F-5.) The first unit to receive the Lightings was the 4^ Stormo Caccia (June 1946-April 1948). In 1948 the 4^ Stormo was rearmed with the P-51D, and the P-38s were assigned
to 3^ Stormo Caccia (1948-1954). From September 1948 to July 1952, four F-5s were assigned to Nucleo Sperimentale Volo at Roma-Guidonia (later "Reparto Sperimentale Volo"), and used in 34 "ferret" flights over Yugoslavia and Albania. The Lightning was finally retired from servince in July 1956.

Others units equipped with the P-38L:
Reparto Volo 4a ZAT (Zona Aerea Territoriale)
SCOT, Scuola Caccia Ognitempo (All-weather Fighter School)
Sezione Aerofotografica, 56th TAF (Tactical Air Force)

65 P-38L (L-5 and L-10 version, one in Droop Snoot configuration?)
      2 P-38J (not confirmed)
      20 F-5E-4, F, G recon Lightnings. (including a single F-5B?)
6 P-38DC double-seater advanced trainers, modified under FIAT design. (DC= Doppi Comandi. First flight: April 29, 1948)

30 planes were lost in service due to engines failures, undercarriage crashes and pilots mistakes.

Note about skin: light decals distortions under the nacelles.
No solution at this time, sorry...

The first Boeing P-26 to experience major combat operation was the Chinese Model 281. On 15 August 1937, eight of the Boeing fighters from the Chinese Air Force 3rd Pursuit Group 17th Squadron based at Chuyung airfield, engaged eight out of 20 Mitsubishi G3M Japanese bombers from the Kisarazu Air Group sent to attack Nanking. The Chinese Boeing fighters helped shoot down two of the four Japanese bombers destroyed that day without suffering any losses. Subsequent engagements between the Chinese "Peashooter" pilots and pilots of the Imperial Japanese Navy flying the Mitsubishi A5M "Claudes" were Asia's first ever aerial dogfights and kills between monoplane fighter aircraft.
