MiG-21MF SP4 Flight Model
By Fubar512
This is a flight model (FM) *ONLY*
From the Readme:
These are flight models for the existing MiG-21MF, and are tailored to work in conjunction with the initial release of Wings over Europe, and with Strike Fighters and Wings over Vietnam patched to SP4 (patch dated 5-16-06).
I suggest you install Mago's latest MiG-21 cockpit package FIRST, and then install this FM file (MiG-21MF_Data.INI), over any previous FMs.
I also suggest that you install and use the Mirage Factory's MiG-21F13, as it will contain some of the necessary sound files (MiGEngine being one of them). Besides, it's a great model!!
The MiGEngine sound file is also in the Sounds Megapack, located here at CombatAce.
Installation:
There are two FMs contained within the zip archive, each in their own folder. One is Wings over Vietnam (WoV) specific, and the other can be used in both Strike Fighters and Wings over Europe. Extract the folders to your desktop, and then drag the MiG-21MF_Data.ini files to their corresponding folders in each game. For example, in WoV, one would place the file in the Wings over Vietnam/Objects/Aircraft/MiG-21MF subfolder. Make sure that the file resides in the MiG-21MF folder, and is NOT nested within a subfolder. That?s it!
Known Issue: MiG-21MFs used blown flaps in real life. As of this writing (May 26 2006), there seems to be an issue with animations not working in SF/WoV/WoE if the value "Manual_With_Blowback" is applied to the flap variables in the flight model.
Credits: Mega Thanks to the members of AIRTEVRON 5 (past and present), particularly to Kreelin and Streakeagle, who were kind enough to share their knowledge of aerodynamics with all of us

MiG-17 & MiG-19 Family Variants Data Ini Upgrades
By Wrench
Data Ini Fixes for Various Frescos & Farmers - WoV/WoE/WoI
This package of data inis is designed to bring various sub-variants of the MiG-17 and MiG-19 family up to the latest, post 9/08 patch standard.
They are designed for use on mods from Madcaddie & howling1s "MigPak", "More Migs Pak" and "Still More Migs Pak", which are available at AvSim. Also included is a data ini for the Cuban MiG-17AS by Starfighter, Pasko's 17PFU, and a couple of mods by me, and some other people I can't remember....
The data inis contained herein are modification, per nations and loads, with all the FM updates, taken right from a freshly extracted stock MiG-17F Fresco-C and MiG-19S Farmer-C data inis. This brings in the newly added AI sections, and improved FM to these very old mods...
The aircraft 'repaired' by the enclosed data inis are:
J-4(IRM)
J-4
J-5A (PLAAF mod of Pasko's 17PFU)
MiG-17AS (by starfighter)
MiG-17F(SF-E)
MiG-17PF (SP-16)
MiG-17PF
MiG-17PFU (Pasko)
MiG-19 (IRM mod)
MiG-19F
MiG-19P
MiG-19PM (these 2 by me, The Wrench)
MiG-19SF
F-6 (Shenyang Farmer, Pakistani AF)
I've tried to keep the weapons "NationName" and "AttachmentType" as close to stock whenever and wherever possible. I've tried to design this fix for use with any weapons pak ...remember all these aircraft WERE designed with the Bunyap Pak of 6/06 in mind. If you plan to use these with a 'stock' install, you WILL need to add the various weapons called out in their loadout inis. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you plan on using these with the Mirage Factory Weapons Pak; either the WoI (-which you shouldn't, really-) or the soon-to-be-released WoE version, you WILL have to import various and sundry bits. In particular, the Izumrd radar nose for the 17P/PF/PFU/J-5A, 19P/PM and the nationalized weapons for the Paki F-6 (as their Sidewinder is a mod of the US version, plus their nationalized bombs and rocket pods and suchlike...), plus the 'pylons' necessary for their attachment.
Highly detailed information on the various loadouts, and eariler data ini fixes can be found in the CombatAce Knowledge Base, in the "Bunyap Wepons and Loadouts Fixes Thread"
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=18346
It is highly suggested that you spend some time in there..otherwise, you may have some "issues".
Happy Landings

Complex Static/Parked Aircraft. Phase I (F4-J, Fmk6, C-130J)
By comrpnt
Update v1.10
The SH-3 has been removed from this pack on request. To acquire the original model please contact Capun at capun1950@yahoo.com to request access to the model.
This pack provides a way to add more life into the otherwise sparsely populated airfields in SFP1 and WOV. I thought that I'd have a go at trying to use existing aircraft as the basis of complex static/parked aircraft. Here is the result. I hope you enjoy using them.
[Thanks]
Many thanks to all those folks who created the original aircraft I've used as the basis for my own editing. And also many thanks for the hints, tips and support over the past few weeks on the forums. Without you this work would not have been possible.
This posting consists of a set of complex static/parked aircraft, a mission (.msn) file that makes use of them, and an extract of the optional changes to the VIETNAMSEA_TARGETS.INI (or equivalent) file that you may want to apply to populate Airfield 1 further with support equipment. Installation instructions are provided in the enclosed README.TXT.
The mission is based at Da Nang, South Vietnam and consists of two squadrons of RAF complex static/parked aircraft and some AI aircraft on final approach.
On the ramp you'll find RAF 74 Sqn and RAF 56 Sqn.
At the North end of the runway are two QRA shelters containing two armed F4-Js and support equipment. All ready to go.
On final approach are a pair of Mk6 Lightnings from RAF 5 Sqn. Lined up behind the Lightnings is a RAAF C-130J transport aircraft on final approach. Behind the C-130J is a RAAF A310 MRTT on final approach.
Two jeeps are also driving around the airfield. The first one circuits the aircraft on the ramp. The second drives to and parks up at the North QRA complex.
More to follow in subsequent phases.
Regards, P.T.

Complex static/parked C-130J complete
By comrpnt
I've decided to post each static aircraft as a complete folder so that the installation process is as simple as possible. I felt that the manual installation in my earlier post was too much work for a lot of people. This way you can pick and choose the statics you want to include in your own missions.
"If you build it, they will come.". Well, if you make it easy for people, they will use it.

[Thanks to Digital Overload for a last minute fix that cleaned up the blurred props in my earlier post :-)]
Thanks, regards, PNT/comrpnt :-)

Lightning Mk6 Landing Lights etc.
By comrpnt
I'm not sure if this has been done before but I've tweaked the location and colour of some of the lights on Russouk's Lightning Mk6 (hope you don't mind Russ).
[Thanks]
Many thanks to Russ who created the original aircraft I've used as the basis for my own editing.
[What's included]
Bascially I've added landing lights to the left and right main gear, and added a bottom stobe -- changing the flash time to slow it down a bit in the process. For the top and bottom strobes I decided to change their colour to red, instead of white as in the original.

WOV Da Nang (Airfield_1) extra lights for buildings & structures
By comrpnt
This is an update to the original posting.
Inspiration for this work came mostly from extending the excellent approach
lights mod from Sidewinder86 (See here) and also reading up on Eightlein's details on lighting various airfield structures (here). I've extended that work and applied it only to Da Nang.
Also see here for details on static/parked aircraft for Da Nang and installing the QRA sheds at the North end of the airfield.
[update Info]
I noticed that this mod makes heavy use of the ground object modifications I had included in my earlier 'statics' postings. For Da Nang that's fine, but, for all other fields in WOV that use Airfield_1 the lights would still appear, and that looked just plain weird. I've corrected this dependence with this update so you can have the lights only apply to one field.
The extra lights entries detailed in this mod all live in a new file called VietnamSEA_Airfield1_DaNang.ini. This file is referenced from the existing "Da Nang Air Base" entry in the VIETNAMSEA_TARGETS.INI file. Simply change this entry to read the following:
[TargetArea091]
Name=Da Nang Air Base
...
AirfieldDataFile=VietnamSEA_Airfield1_DaNang.ini
...
The new extra lights in this mod illuminate all of the tall buildings and structures in the airfield vicinity:
- ASR Radar dish
- QRA Sheds (internal flood lights and external anti-collision lights)
- Fuel tanks
- Ramp fuel store
- Ramp Hangars (external flood lights and anti-collision lights)
- Heli-pad for RAF Rescue SH-3
- Water tower
- Bomb dumps
- Control Tower
This mod has only been tested with WOV but with some modifications this mod can be applied to SFP1. If the layout of Airfield_1 is the same then simply changing the names accordingly will enable SFP1 to pick up the changes.
See the following forum entry for screenshots of the changes defined below: (http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2798)
I hope you like them.
Regards, P.T. :-)

A310 MRTT Refuelling Drogue Lights
By comrpnt
Hi folks, I've had a go at adding some drogue lights to the A310 MRTT refuelling tanker, to make it more fun to line up during a night tanking exercise.
This lights mod is a bit of a hack as when the A310 comes in to land the lights remain visible, but for practice they work pretty well and seem real enough when the A310 is in flight.
[Aside]
I've still to sort out the best way to get an AI aircraft to turn their lights on or off on-demand via some Lights setting the _data.ini file. If someone comes across the setting or parameter value that enables this in an .ini file then please pass me the details it would be a real bonus for this and my other static aircraft mods.
[Mk2 Comments]
I updated the original post as I noticed a slight misalignment with the right-side drogue. I've moved the right-side lights across (+X coords) to fix this.
Cheers, kind regards, P.T. :-)

RAF Pilot skins collection
By comrpnt
Welcome to my first attempt to draw some RAF pilot skins.
I've drawn pilot and navigator skins for the following RAF Squadrons...
Pilot: 5, 11, 19, 56, 74, 92, 111
Navigator: 19, 56, 74, 92, 111
Both skins are available in camo or white helmets.
The naming convention I've adopted is...
PLTnnnv
| | |
| | +-- C or W for Camo or White
| +------ Squadron number
+---------- Pilot
NAVnnnv
| | |
| | +-- C or W for Camo or White
| +------- Squadron number
+------------ Navigator
E.g.
PLT074W = Pilot 74 Sqn White Helmet
NAV056C = Navigator 56 Sqn Camo Helmet
I've also included blank helmet designs in camo and white for Pilots and Navs that have no squadron affiliation. These are PLT|NAV000W|C
For info, these skins are 512 x 512 so they're not FPS killers.
Hope you like them, regards, Paul T. (comrpnt).

Strike Fighters medals Pack v2.0
By Guest
Strike Fighters Medals Pack v2.0
The standard Strike Fighters (“SF”) has medals available only for the three US services (USAF, USN and USMC). This add-on package adds medals for a host of other countries and air forces, so you can get medals flying non-US aircraft. The package does not interfere with any other SF mod.
The Medals Pack provides medals for Argentina, Brazil, Britain, Belgium, China, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, East Germany, Egypt, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, North Korea, North Vietnam, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, South Vietnam, Soviet Union, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, West Germany and WWII Germany, plus extra medals for the USAF, USN, and USMC.
Simply unzip this package to your Strike Fighters folder. All of the files in the Flight folder go in your Strike Fighters\Flight folder, and all of the files in the Menu folder go in your Strike Fighters\Menu folder. There is a full TXT document which explains it all, and lists all of the available medals.

Strike Fighters WWII Formations Mod
By Guest
Strike Fighters WWII Formations Mod
Strike Fighters is a sim configured around 1960's-era aircraft, formations and tactics, generally with small numbers of aircraft and dispersed formations. The stock version actually only provides four different formations for aircraft (US fighters, US bombers, Soviet fighters and Soviet bombers), to fit all nations and time periods.
Now that we have a number of WWII aircraft in SF, I wanted to be able to see large WWII-style bomber formations and the historically-correct fighter formations. This mod is designed to achieve that. There are different WWII-style formations for most of the major WWII air powers (US, UK and Commonwealth, Soviet, Germany, Italy and Japan), for fighters, medium bombers/attack aircraft and for heavy bombers.
The zip file has a TXT file which explains installation.
Be aware that the defensive power of the larger, tighter WWII bomber formations is greater than you may be used to. Flying fighters to intercept even an unescorted large bomber formation is no piece of cake - picking off the stragglers is a lot easier and safer. Use your wingmen to break up the formation if you can.

New/Refined F4 Phantom Lights
By comrpnt
The F-4 'tomb' is one of my favorite planes and having recently seen some photos of RAF F-4s at night I thought that the previous excellent work of Eightlein and others could do with a tweak here and there.
This mod is my attempt to add or amend the current F-4 lights to match what I saw.
Hope you like it. Regards, Paul T. (comrpnt) :-)
