Hello everyone,

I’ve been thinking about how the Sukhoi lineup in SF2 has grown really well over the years, especially with community-made mods covering aircraft such as the Sukhoi Su-27, Sukhoi Su-33, Sukhoi Su-35, Sukhoi Su-37, and even the Sukhoi Su-57.

Because of that, I feel there’s definitely room within the SF2 modding scene for properly developed versions of the:

Sukhoi Su-30MK (Especially SU-30MKI/MKM/MKA & SU-30SM/SM2)

Sukhoi Su-34

These aircraft are quite iconic in modern aviation and would fit extremely well into SF2 environments, especially modern-era campaigns and scenarios.

I also currently have extracted 3D models originating from War Thunder for these aircraft (Su-30SM/SM2/MKM and Su-34). If any experienced modders, animators, or cockpit creators are interested in taking part in such a project, I’d be happy to share the respective models privately for development purposes, since it could save a significant amount of base modelling time.

Of course, there’s still plenty of work beyond the models themselves — including flight models, cockpits, avionics, textures, animations, loadouts, and optimisation for SF2 — but I think this could be a very interesting collaborative project for the community.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this idea, especially from people experienced with SF2 aircraft development. Please consider it.

Note: I would be really glad if someone would model the SU-30SM into the SU-30MKI, as it is my favourite jet of all time and would be lovely in this game.image.thumb.png.37f7234c935b08af42edf108f82d8c34.pngimage.thumb.png.fd666f636f69f4a1a0e71e842fd3b900.png

'Extracted' is very diplomatic term. Do you have permission to use someone work? Unless WT developers do not give a damn...what is happening with their assets.

Apart from that. If team is going to work on such project...keep in mind that this might still take time.

Not trying to to discourage you, on contrary - rather happy that someone is willing to do something. Just will is not everything.

Yeah no, if it's not used without permission that's a hard no. It's better in the long run (piracy of any kind is zero tolerance) to create a bird from scratch and save all the legal hassle for those who want to make one. But if you can prove that it's legit then yeah, but this site has zero tolerance for any kind of ripped models.

In addition to the position that this site has always maintained, someone once sent me WT's resources, and I want to say that converting those models to a usable level for SF2 is a long road ahead. They have huge number of vertices and faces.

Perhaps a better approach would be to purchase other legal resources, even if they are of slightly lower quality.

Just a reminder to the original poster, admitting to piracy is grounds for permanent banning. I'm gonna let you slide on this ONE TIME, because it's obvious you didn't read the member agreement when signing up for Combat Ace. Consider this your warning; I'm not making a mark against you, just a verbal.

With that, I'm locking this thread

I had some members sending me illegal files, some from WT's, and I declined to help them, as it's not the ethical thing to do. Plus, it's better to start fresh or pay for a 3D model.
