BWYF-23 Posted Monday at 10:19 PM Posted Monday at 10:19 PM Not talking the best I just want to know what you guys think the prettiest sim from the 90s was? For me probably the late 90s Jane's games 1
Menrva Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM Joint Strike Fighter without doubts, its graphics engine was unrivalled. Too bad it's underrated and most don't even know about it, but there's no flight sim game that looked better in 1997-98, even in software rendering.
Erik Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I'd throw MSFS 98 out there. I remember when we got 3D acceleration in 96-97 which transformed all our flat graphics. Another notable Sim was Gran Tourismo 2 in the late 90s. The over done sun glare was horrific but it was a point in time where games felt more real. Clinton was the US President, we had a surplus budget, and grunge was a fashion. Tamagotchi, Beanie Babies, AOL chat rooms, and Instant Messenger were what we raved about or rebelled against. 30 years passed us by in mere houra, the next thirty will likely feel like a wink. 1

Mods pushed it over the top. The terrain was a little less impressive. Jane's USAF looked really sharp. The Nevada terrain was amazing. The Germany and Vietnam maps were not nearly as good. 1
