Hello,

I have WOE :yes: (since dec. 2006) (latest official patch and weaponpack)

On AVsim I found a 'tornado package', (for sfp1.)

in that package is a 'tornado F3', and that 'tornado F3' did not work in my WOE... :sorry:

In WOE, I can select the F3 to fly, give it some weapons, the game starts, i see the cockpit for a few seconds, then the game quits...) :sorry:

can someone help me?... :dntknw:

The Tornado package you got at Avsim is an old model that had lots of unresolved bugs. Take a look in the downloads section here at CombatAce for the new Tornado package based on the Armour Dave model. Great looking plane, and it actually works!

The F.3 at Avsim is the only one of that version available. Armoudave's versions are all based on the strike version.

Here's what you need to do to get Florian's Tornados to fly without a CTD:

Extract the Flightengine.ini from the flightdata .cat file

Then amend this section to read:

[GraphicsSettings]

ZBufferDepth=24

MaxVertexCount=16384

MaxIndexCount=32768

MaxTextureCount=16384

MaxModelType=2048

MaxMeshPerScene=2048

MaxModelPerScene=4096

MaxLightPerScene=1024

AspectRatio=1.333333

MinPixelSize=1.0

That should sort you out.

You can download some better Tornados without the F3 I really miss it but you`ll find them here on Combatace!!! You don`t need to tweak them they work fine.

Thanks for reactions! :good:

I already have the IDS and GR1 version of the tornado, (from this very good site!)

I was just looking for the F3 version...

I'll try to make it work in WOE, but i have realy no experience with editing in WOE...

Thanks again,

Peter

edit: how can i extract the flightdata .cat file?

Hi All

Got the Tornado F3 working well, had to add UK to weapon attachments to get Sidewinders showing but apart from that she is lovely. Had a thought would a Avionics70 upgrade be good, realistic for this plane?

Have a quick question for allenjb42, how does the Flightengine.ini edit effect the rest of the game?

Cheers All

Go to the ftornado_DATA file and add uk to the attachment type line for each of the weapon stations

Attachment type was 'RAF'

Now its 'UK'

Thanks again :good:

Short answer is I don't know. I haven't had any problems with doing it though.

Do a search at Avsim.com for Tornado in the StrikeFighters Category. There should be a pack and a Skinpack show up. downloaded both yesterday.

S!

Nah, it's no good. I get an unable to connect everytime I try to download them...

The plane pack is by Florian and the skinpack is by Sundowner. If they are members here why not ask them to upload to CA or give someone permission to do so on their behalf?

Possibly post it in our downloads section might be a solution. :dntknw:

I think that I once asked Florian about this & got a negative.

I know that I asked someone about something once & was turned down because he wanted the hits to his own site for advertising purposes - we would have to be sure that we had the originator's permission.

Florian has a website? Is he still around cause there are a couple of questions about the Airbus.

I may be wrong because it's in the dim & distant past.

My point was more though that we can't just have people uploading stuff willy-nilly - we have to be certain that we had the originator's permision for distribution.
