I heard at the Barksdale AFB airshow today one of the T-Birds hit a bird and had to make an emergency landing. Not a good day to be a demo team.

My coworker stated that it is to keep the suit from interfering with the stick. I wouldn't think it would but...

As the suit inflates and deflates, it causes motion, ever so slight motion, that moves the pilot about... just enough to interfere with smooth stick work... Smooth is the key in tight flying....
