Nieuport 17 Camo Skin

Recommended Posts

I wanted to have a camo skin for the Nieuport 17.

I found this color profile on the internet and now here is the result. This is my first skin

for First Eagles. The cowling looks wierd to me because it has a reflective quality (built

into the model I presume) that doesn't look so hot with the green paint.

This is only a 2-tone scheme. From what I've read, this is the standard for N17s at the time.

Would anyone be interested in downloading this one? (pending approval from the author).

Cheers!

Me to.

I'm no skinner, but you should be able to play around with the finish using the settings in the textureset.ini file for the aircraft (also in the aircraft INI file).

Salut All!

Hawk your skin is accurate with camouflaged upper surface dark green and brown

I dont see the under surfaces , but they were aluminium painted-

All the outlines around flying and control surfaces was of the same colour -aluminium

But its only a detail !

The insignia is the famous stork marking of N3 escadrille.

Thanks for the encouragement all!

I think I should get permission from the original author before posting.

Especially since I left many parts of the skin untouched. I only edited

the fuselage and flying surfaces. Oh, and the underside is tan. At least

that's how it looked in the profile.

I can't reach MontyCZ since his mailbox is full, but am waiting to hear

back from WhiteKnight who's skin I modded directly. I just now figured

out how to edit the decals so now the skin shows the white numerals

that the original profile calls for. Here's how it looks now...

Cheers!

Hello here, you have a nice skin, thanx for your interest in N17

you have my permission to upload it, but ask WhiteKnight

unfortunately the cowling reflectivity is hardcoded.

Wow. The members here are just great. Makes me want to do even more.

Sorry for the delay. I got distracted working on a new airfield texture.

I am having as much fun modding as I do in the flying, hehehe.

Just posted the skin. It is pending admin approval. But it should be located here:
