Viggen Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I'v downloaded several battleships, destroyers and submarines latley and during ASW missions they are never the targets. Its always the stupid cargoships and the tankers. Now since its WOE and it doesn't have the things needed for CV/CVN ops, does that mean that all of these ships require a part of that? Also I've been making a repaint of a MiG-17F and it hasn't woked. The wings and tailplane are just white. Is it possible that since I coppied and pasted a pic on to the wings and tailplane that it won't work? And (as an added bonus), are there any Mirage 2000s, Atlas Cheetahs, AMXs, or F-1 Kaizens, or Tornado F.3s (ADV) anywhere? Quote
Wolf65 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 The Mirage Factory is working on the Mirage 2000. Quote

Viggen Posted September 1, 2007 Author Posted September 1, 2007 I was thinking of maybe changing how common or rare they are. Could that work? Quote
+Typhoid Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I was thinking of maybe changing how common or rare they are. Could that work? you have to change the function of the ship to cargo_ship. That way the game engine will pick them up. Otherwise you have to build your own missions using the mission editor. search through the Knowledge base. Quote

WarlordATF Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Thats a good question. But I may try to switch a destoyer to "cargoship". It works! The OSAII used its guns and the missile boat launched a SAM. I've read through the KB a dozen times but somehow i missed the whole Cargo_Ship change. This makes Anti-Shipping Missions alot more interesting! Quote

WarlordATF Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Which thread in the KB deals with this? It seems to work fine when flying for the Allies, however no joy when flying for the Soviets. I tried it in both the Bering Straits and Vietnam and Soviet Anti-Ship Missions act like recon missions, fly to a point and then Mission Complete. I Have several US Ships set to Cargo_Ship, but so far no luck. Quote

+Fubar512 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Diomede Island is part of the Aleutians, but is Kolvcinskaja in Soviet territory? Don't currently have that terrain installed, so I cannot tell you for certain. One thing that I've run into (in a similar vain), was attempting to fly a Soviet aircraft tasked for SEAD, when there were no allied SAM sites defined. The mission would be abruptly cut short, while I was still inside of "Soviet" controlled airspace, and I'd be credited with a successful mission. Because (again) there were no allied SAM sites to attack. This all changed when I located a few Hawk batteries on the map. That is what leads me to the conclusion that you had no shipping routes defined inside of allied territory. Quote

WarlordATF Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Ok, I got it working on the Bering Straits Map. The Koni class frigate (made by capun) can sure put up a defense...not that it did do them any good, but it looked nice. Quote

Now that I've got the ships to all work, I've been building war-at-sea strike missions with the mission editor. After I perfect some I'll release packages of them. Of course, you will need all of the updated ships and terrains available. warlord - good update on the movement ini. I'll try some this one out. Quote
+{FL}Hausser Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I guess I am too dumb for this one. I have used the Cargo_ship edit and still no ships appears. When I edit the Terrain_Targets.ini to be just a cargo ship.... poof there it is. Change it back to a Koni or OSA II and... poof gone. Era time frame is correct. Shippings lanes are there in the Terrain_Movement.ini. All regular cargo and patrol boat targets are always there just the add-on Koni, Kilo and OSAII will never show up. Quote
