New MF Weapons Pack or...

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to someone translating the info about the above.

And waiting to hear for the brave soul who is first to install this into a heavily modded working installation.

Please report your results.

Thanks.

I integrated with the weps pack from here. But again, you better know what you are doing and back your stuff up. So all is well from my end.

Who knows, I am not about to count it either. That is a lot of weps to go through.

Well you can see it in Falcon because these skins are made from the JAN HAS ones. Thanks to him, he is the artist :good:

New revolutionary stealth missile technology. The enemy will never know what hit him :haha:

Sorry if I'm annoying you with another problem, but as you can see I can't see some missiles (but I can still shoot down enemy planes with them). Yesterday I couldn't see AMRAAMs, Phoenixes and Sparrows. This morning, after installing both Bunyap's WP and MF's WP in a separate folder and transferring all .lod, .bmp, .tga, .shd and .out files in the Weapons folder (even if I don't use shadows and don't know what .out files are... I transferred them anyway). Now I can't see just AIM-7E-3s (the one in the screenshot) and E-4s.

Thanks for your help

Nice job.

For those still waiting to try it, just remember to verify your AttachmentTypes, the MF WP tends to categorize weapons as NATO, when Bunyap is using individual attachments and using NATO for special purposes I can't remember right now, so you have to either changer the weapons AttachmentType, or your aircrafts DATA.INI.

Fortunately one day we'll have arbitrary AttachementTypes (and no limitations on pylons, more weapon groups) and all this non-sense to obtain semi-realistic loadouts will be over.

DySkO>

Have you merged the MF pack with Bunyap, or the other way round ?

The procedure for the WEAPONDATA.INI is to open the MF file, merge Bunyap's (or your old WEAPONDATA.INI) into it, then save.

Otherwise there might be references to changed files (ie. Bunyap's pack calls the AIM-7E LOD directly, while the MF calls the AIM7E INI file) explaining your problem.

Guest Sony Tuckson

yes, we are aware of the game engine limitations regarding weapons handling

the way I explained it will keep old stuff avbl, modify some of it, and add new

I can't find a perfect method yet

This is one of the drawbacks of extensive modding possibility ;)

I did what Sony Tuckson said in the release thread: renamed my old weapondata.ini, installed MF's pack, opened the new weapondata.ini with the Weapon Editor included in Bunyap's pack, merged it with my old .ini and saved.

Yep, that is exactly your problem since the files have been changed.

It should read AIM7E2 (as the E-3 and E-4 are basically the E-2 airframe with respectively a different fusing mechanism and a new seeker).

The problem is that the MF WP changes files used by Bunyap's WP instead of duplicating them, that results in weapons present in Bunyap's pack but absent in the MF pack to incorrectly call the weapons.

The MF changed the AIM-7E, AIM-7E-2 but "forgot" the AIM-7E-3/4, so they are added by bunyap's pack still calling the weapons the "wrong" way.

Thank you, Gunrunner. I replaced all the ModelName entries with the AIM-7E entry, and everything now works fine! :ok:

I also say thanks to the Mirage Factory for the new cool weapons! Now blowing up MiGs is even funnier
