sparkomatic Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Hey, not that the forum moderators dont do a splendid performance of directing this place...but how about a little more democratic/formalized screen shot contest. As I guess that is what the screen shot of the month is supposed to be, a sort of contest given the opening thread. How about a set of rules, a defined time line of when one can post, and then each person can post only once to that thread (others removed). Then, after the end of the period, a sort of poll like thing is established and we vote? You know, an actual contest? Just a thought. Prize for winning? Easy, winning is its own reward. Quote
+Syrinx Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 There really ought to be two contests, one for pure in-game-as-it-happens type screenshot and another for those who enhance the screenies with Photoshop or similar. Quote
triplethr3at Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 agreed to the above ^^^^ ând it would be cool to have the members vote (if it is at all possible) Quote
TX3RN0BILL Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Yeah, 'cause it's unfair to have edited screenies contesting with "pure" ones... and add my vote on the voting by the members to elect the best! (preferably to select the best, or just as a "member's choice"). Quote
+allenjb42 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) I agree with all of the above. You could set say a 7 day deadline for voting on the previous month's thread(s), where you could vote in a poll on the thread but not actually add any new posts. Edited April 18, 2008 by allenjb42 Quote
sparkomatic Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 - exactly...and I concur with the no-editing stipulation as well. - and since some times people do not understand, it should be re-emphasized that you get one shot per month...multiple posting would be removed / moved - glad to see there is interest in this! +Dave Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 We already have rules. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=26467 Quote
TX3RN0BILL Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Guess that only leaves open the "Member's choice" poll, in two categories (pure and edited)... Quote
sparkomatic Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 Still like the poll idea, people's choice, vox a populi as it were...I mean...who won for March? I have no idea... Quote
+Fates Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The March winner.....had a Calendar produced for April The April winner..... had a Calendar produced for May And so on...and so on... Quote
ONETINSOLDIER Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Im a little unclear on which game these screenshots can come from. Is it the thirdwire series only, or are shots from IL-2 eligable? Quote

Longestpants Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) You know, I don't see any reason why we couldn't resurrect "Screenshot of the Day" but for all combat flight sims, from Red Baron to Jane's to Il-2 to infinity. Edited April 19, 2008 by Longestpants Quote
