cgold Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I have finally got my Strike Fighters up and running again. Trouble is that this blue text / red text is on every object. How can I only limit this to the little box in the bottom right corner like the good ol' days? Quote
Viggen Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Probably by killing easy avionics. Or just use ALT-D Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) "T" key for enemy, "Y" key for friendly to get the lower right one. You have to go to medium HUD to get the labels off. I liked easy for the waypoint countdown, but found most `pits have one, somewhere... ___EDIT___ ALT+D gets rid of EVERYTHING... Edited January 27, 2009 by Spectre_USA Quote
Viper6 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 In the options menu set the hud display and targeting to normal Quote
Fubar512 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Those are what we call "skines". The skiners make them Quote
Fubar512 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 And lest you think that last post was in bad taste, look at the kind of day I've been having.... Quote
+Hinchinbrooke Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 For a minute there, I thought you were referring to the Blues and Royals. My great-great grandfather spent much time performing guard duty at Windsor Castle. Carry on. Quote
cgold Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) Thanks guys. I was wonderering if I was seeing things... I have another one for ya'll. I can fix the "skines". That's a small change. Why would the simulator have no weaponry show up for any of the aircraft? Basically, give me reasons why the sim would not have any weapons show up. I know there is a weapons folder in the objects folder and there's stuff in my weapons folder, but nothing shows up when the simulator is running when I'm in the loadout screen. Any ideas? PS= If I get this solved, my sim will be running properly. Edited January 27, 2009 by cgold Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) There is only 1 file the sim needs to see in the weapons folder, it is the weapons.dat file. To create one, you need the LATEST weapons editor, open the weapons.ini with it, and merely hit save. Voila, a neat and shiny new weapons.dat. The sim sees that, and displays all the lovely explosives available on the loadout screens. ___EDIT___ Typos will be the death of me... Edited January 27, 2009 by Spectre_USA Quote

cgold Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) Fixed the "skines". And Dave's newest F-4 certainly works! And which weapon editor should I get? I just downloaded the "most recent" one and it didn't start up. Edited January 27, 2009 by cgold Quote
Fubar512 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I just downloaded the "most recent" one and it didn't start up. Of course it doesn't. You need to set it to Win95 or 98 compatibility. Back to the knowledege base with ya!!!!! Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I am thinking he needs a lazer cat escort straight to the KB sin bin... Quote
cgold Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Alright...now we're in business! Except for these guys. Whats up with the canopies on certain planes? I had another MiG-21 do this... Quote
Wrench Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 What??? You don't like fresh air??? You must be a Pollutionist !!! AHH...the smell of freshly burned hydrocarbons!!! Brings back so many memories.... Coverd in the "Things You Need To Update Thread", basically, disable the auto-speed canopies OR reverse the values for open/close line, OR switch to animation control keystroke Discussed about a gazillion times so far (me, I just disabled them cause I'm lazy...) Wrench kevin stein "basically, disable the auto-speed canopies OR reverse the values for open/close line, OR switch to animation control keystroke" ...where can I find such things...in the individual aircraft? I know the animation keys aren't activated at all (or at least I haven't assigned any of those keys.) Quote
cgold Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Would changing one .LOD out for another change much behavior in what the canopy does? Not all of my MiGs have this problem. The Electric Lightning still would need work. Quote
