An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day

Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way

When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw

A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw

Their brands were still on fire and their hoofs were made of steel...

Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel...

A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky

For he saw the Riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry

I guess some people are not getting it. You add no more than four lines and you get as many different people to add a different set of lines possible.

Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat.

They're riden' hard to catch that herd but they ain't caught it yet.

Maybe it's too old of a concept; a song with actual lyrics... :drag:

Jeez. give them a break. Afterall, there's only been, what, like a DOZEN renditions of it over the years?

They fed the horses, and themselves,to toughen for the chase,

The sun was high, and hot that day,but they sped up the pace.

and no,I cant recall all the lyrics...lol

As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
