mppd Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Yeah, we were sort of looking for a Mirage IIIRP recon bird for the India-Pakistan conflict. Mike Quote
mppd Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 The nose radome can be eliminated and a new recon nose added on - can anyone provide a nice profile drawing of this recon nose? Thanks, MPD Quote
SUICIDAL Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Different projects of MIRAGE III and K-FIR reconnaissance photos Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 very interesting and ugly stuff, were those "nose" pods common or just a temporary solution, wouldn`t be a centerlinepod better, but I think they needed the space for fuel Quote
kct Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 76.IAP-Blackbird: The former would be the better description. In fact they're just learning a thing or two from the RF-4Cs/RF-4Es of that period. Quote
SUICIDAL Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Look this is a good site where you can see many interesting things on spy plane http://www.spyflight.co.uk/ Quote
gregair Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I think this is the type of nose that the guys are actually looking for, Mirage 3R or Mirage 3RD type noses. This Mirage 3RZ is the South African designation for the Mirage 3RD Quote

santro Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 mppd is talking about this : MIrage IIIRP PAF. Yup.. and apparently he is already halfway through.. ghostrider.. was there ever any use of a dark blue F86 skin during the conflict?? I seen a pic on the net.. and I checked with a PAF enthusiast who seems to agree it was..in the coastal reigon Quote

I seen a pic on the net.. and I checked with a PAF enthusiast who seems to agree it was..in the coastal reigon NOt sure of any blue scheme. In the 1965 & 71 wars, all PAF F-86Fs flew with their bare metal scheme. The PAF acquired ex-Luftwaffe Sabre Mk.6s after the 1965 war, They sported grey/green camo. SOme F-86Fs had brown patterns painted on them in the 1971 war. Quote
