+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I use corel paint shop pro X. Is there a tutorial around for using this program to make decals ??? Quote
Spinners Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Sorry I can't help specifically with Corel Paint Shop Pro X (I use The Gimp) but when I was struggling to grasp it I went to The Simmers Paint Shop and asked a question there. Indeed, it might be worth a look just in case there is a tutorial already there. Quote

+LloydNB Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Later PSP versions have a problem with converting TGA files so they are useable in the game. They tend to come out as negatives and a ghastly yellow. If you have the problem with PSP10 I have little utility that will fix it. Otherwise look for previous postings - I'm sure that I put a link to the utility download somewhere on here. LloydNB Quote

thundercheif Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Try out the gimp. I find creating decals much easier in this program. You just have to paint what you want to show up and save it as a TGA (32bit, turn RLE compression off) Hope you find this helpfull Quote

+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 How about now? FuseNum078.tga.zip nope Quote
+hgbn Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 If you want. just pm me with a list of numbers and font chosen. then I can do them Quote
thundercheif Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 nope Bloody mac... Well i´m out of solutions till i get back behind my windows machine Quote
Shaolin Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 i think the name of the first number (no matter which number it represents) has to be "FuseNum000.tga"! The FuseNum078.tga would be the 79th number!!! Quote
+hgbn Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Have you tried calling out one specific number in the decals.ini just to see if they show?? Quote
+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 How about now? FuseNum078.tga.zip did you take a look at the original file ? and was anything wrong with it ? Quote
+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Have you tried calling out one specific number in the decals.ini just to see if they show?? yes that worked, but it had a bad bleed to it when i use other decals made by others they look fine Quote
Shaolin Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 If i remember TK's tutorial correct, the borders of the tga have to be left free... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...mp;showfile=345 Quote
Shaolin Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 As I said, you get the bleeding where the graphic touches the borders... Quote
+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 As I said, you get the bleeding where the graphic touches the borders... yep that was it...but I also noticed the shape of the insignia was to narrow..how do I fix that ? Quote
Shaolin Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 The hight and width of the decal have to be the same: 64x64, 128x128 or 256x256 You could split it in three (or two, framing the insignia)... Quote
+Veltro2k Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 Try to make a new one square like 256x256 Ok that worked still two problems left 1. Tail squadron decal does not show up 2 . fuselage numbers have to be diffrent on each aircraft Quote
+hgbn Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Ok that worked still two problems left 1. Tail squadron decal does not show up 2 . fuselage numbers have to be diffrent on each aircraft Squadron decals are level1 in the decals.ini You have to make a numberslist. Copy a numbers.lst from whatever aircraft. Open with wordpad and clear every entries. Now you name every number you created in your tga's accordingly to the number sequence. like 1 = TGA.num000 and 2=num001 and so forth Quote
