I opened up the ObjectData security catalog going the realistic head movement thingy, and found in AircraftObjects:

[GunData]

AllowUnJamAttempt=False What happens if I set it to True?

Uh, If I set it to true, how do I attempt to "Unjam"?

I don't think you can.

I believe this feature is properly implemented in FE for biplanes etc whereby you would "virtually" be able to reach the guns to unjam them.

How you gonna reach the guns on a fast jet to do it ??

Some jets had small charges pilot could detonate to remove the jammed casing, IIRC about three or four in Mig-21, don't remember exactly, I think Lexx brought this subject over at Thirdwire ages ago

Is this Gun Jamed business a random event?

Yes and No

Some aircraft are more susceptiable to it than others (revolver-type cannon/reciprocating, gas-operated machine guns vs rotary cannon)

You can use the unjam function, but you must also modify the flightcontrol ini by hand. Include following line for instance and save the file

UNJAM_GUN=SHIFT+JOYSTICK01_BUTTON03

But strangely it does not work all times.

nO IT DOESN'T!

It doesn't even show up in the in-game control menu!

I said edit the file, not use the in-game control menu. Make it by hand with notepad editor and it will work.

Also, if you edit the file, you should probably make it read-only afterward, or else the first time you open the keyboard options, the file will be altered and the entry you made for unjamming the gun will vanish.
