+daddyairplanes Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 if you look at the last 4 lines it discusses upgrading. didn't know you could do that though. pretty sweet Quote
+hgbn Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 if it works then would be possible to mix squadrons in campaigns  Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 not sure bout it plus i have SF2E not V they seem to have some differneces from what i read in posts. will look into it tomorrow thouhg. Quote
MigBuster Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Yes have noticed it - but not sure what it does Was thinking it was there to take account of merged installs - If a Person only has SF2V they will only have the A-4C_65 - and not the A-4B_65 which comes with SF2 only I think Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 if it works then would be possible to mix squadrons in campaigns  This I would dig, big-time, but I doubt it. In this instance, on that date, there is a complete switchover. Was possible in prior iterations, pre-SF2, as well. Dragging along your own escort and/or SEAD in campaign is something that would rock hard, IMHO. It is just a drop-down box away in singles... Quote
gbnavy61 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) Dragging along your own escort and/or SEAD in campaign is something that would rock hard, IMHO. It is just a drop-down box away in singles... One snag I ran into with this in single is the weapons available are still only for the first aircraft you choose. For example, I was going to fly an A-6, and wanted to give myself a little F-4B escort. But since the A-6 can't carry Sidewinders or Sparrows (not without an .ini edit), I couldn't select them for the F-4Bs either. There seemed little point in taking along a couple fighters that had no missiles or guns to shoot. Fuel tanks also won't show up for anything but the starting jet - of course I don't think the AI has limited fuel, so it's more cosmetic. Edited August 6, 2009 by gbnavy61 Quote
+Spectre_USA Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Yeah, that be true. After years of messing about with it, I always take most "multi-role" jet I can as the primary, so the others can assist with a full munitions spread. Heck, starting off with a certain jet doesn't mean ANY of them will be the chosen one, but as long they have the required munitions, all is good... Quote
DarthRevan Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 upgrading planes has been there since SFP1 Quote
Helmut_AUT Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I just noticed in the SF2E '62 campaign, at least one RAF Squadron has Aircraft "Canberra8" (which doesn't exsist in aircraft folder) and alternate is B-57B. So I hope this works, otherwise there are broken campaign squadrons with nothing to fly. Quote
