The Official Agostino Q & A Thread

Just copy the existing format for one of the existing gun sound entries, and rename the two new entries the same as the gun sound.

Sorry, but I do not understand what should I do, may you kindly give an example?? :dntknw:

Then, aircraft that I downloaded are for SF2, and I have SF2, in the readme file, there is not written anything!!! :blink:

You need to extract the Soundlist.ini from Flightdata.cat, and place it in your mod directory, in the "flight" folder. Then you can edit it, like so.

Add the following line to the first section (you must follow the existing number sequence):

SoundFile029=bk27

And then, at the very bottom of the file:

[bk27]

Priority=NORMAL

Looped=TRUE

NumBuffers=4

3DSound=TRUE

DopplerEffect=FALSE

MaxDist=1000.000000

MinDist=50.000000

InsideConeAngle=360

OutsideConeAngle=360

ConeOutsideVolume=0

Close the file, save the changes when prompted, and then you're done. It's very easy.

The Bk27 is a single barreled cannon. Use CANNON as your sound.

So is the GSH-30-1. The default TW cannon sound simulates an ROF of 450-600 rounds per minute. The GSH sound that I use was mixed to simulate ROF of 1500 rpm. I think it's safe to assume that the author of the "BK27.wav" had similar thoughts.

Installation:

copy all the files in the folder to SF2 flights folder in your location of Mod

%%%%%%Please be reminded there are some ugly issue with the tree mods when you fly above a thin layer of cloud, make sure you do below change.%%%%%%

Open your Terrian folder, find xxxxxxx<terrian_name>_data,ini. In the file, find [AlphaObjectTextureMaterial] section

make sure the first four lines below it are

DepthBufferCheck=TRUE

DepthBufferWrite=FALSE

RenderedInOrder=TRUE

AlphaTestEnabled=TRUE

in the same section, also make sure you change the

BlendOp=xxxxxx to BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA.

then save and exit

you should do the same thing for each of your terrains.

=======================================================================

and if I have:

1) Desert Plus 2.0

and

2) Desert Target Zone - Strike Fighters 2

Must I this change?? :dntknw:

well, i think yes, open the terrain_data.ini and check if those terrains are folowing this instructions, athought this is a 'f'ix' for the old clipping problem.

Well I'm using "Better Widesky" as is with no modifications to any ini's and it works a treat, no problems at all.

My advice is to just try it as is, if you can see a problem then make the changes in the readme and see if it's better.

You can always change it back, takes thirty seconds. :good:

I installed the "OSAII", according to the KB "Converting Ground Objects for use in SF2 (by MigBuster)". :good:

Why, when I play in single mission, in 1970, in Southern California Terrain, I see the "OSAII", which works well, :yes: and when I play in single mission, in 1970, in Desert Terrain, I do not see any "OSAII"?? :dntknw:

I have forgotten to add something in Desert Terrain?? :blink:

The file structure for SF2 has been changed a lot and requires you to place the files in an alternative location

For Windows Vista and Windows 7:

Take both files and drop them in Users/xxyournamexxx/Saved Games/Thirdwire/SF2x/Flight folder

Where "yourname" is the name of your user account

I have SF2 installed on Vista, and I noticed this:

1) MainScreen with d3d9.dll in :C:\Program Files\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2\ and enbseries.ini in : C:\Users\AGOSTINO\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Flight\

No, :no: it is not so, try, and you'll see you're doing wrong!! :biggrin:

For this reason, I support that the installation under Vista with SF2 is:

1) d3d9.dll in :C:\Program Files\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2\ :good:

2) enbseries.ini in : C:\Users\AGOSTINO\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Flight\ :ok:
