very cool. one of the best i've ever seen. i like the fact they're doing real work like everyday instead of posing and staring at the kino-operateur with this new invention, the kinematograph. also those testflights are awesome. one is learning much by only watch real footages like that.

when seeing real FE's, i almost forgot how hughe they have been.

the last couple seconds (landing sequence) is also one of BHAH's footage, isn't it?

The one part that really surprised me (and would make me nervous as a FE2 flight crew) was the attachment of the wing at approx. the 9:30 mark.

I would be very curious how it was actually attached. The stress on this joint (based on location alone) must have been huge.

Might explain the oft-seen verbage in Combat Reports of the "wings folding back" and then crashing. Yikes!

Edited for spelling - hey its early!

One of the FE 2's seems to have the french roundel at the side of the nose section (red outer ring) as the other plane bears the british markings (blue outer ring) ?

When I type "www.nfb.ca" without the 3, I get to their board.

Now, if you could give me the title to search for, I might get in there.

You are correct. Just tried it and the link appears to be down.

Have to try again later. :dntknw:

I noticed that too.

I wasn't aware that British and French forces would share an aerodrome. I wonder if that was for the benefit of the camera, - close allies and all that...

Excellent footage. I've seen some of it on Youtube, but not at that quality.

It's easy to think of the FE2 as a bit delicate, but when you actually see it, for all it's frailty, it does look quite menacing.

Good work Olham finding the main page. Nice video you posted also.

Am watching the infamous "The Kid Who Couldn't Miss" right now.

I've always liked Billy Bishop and don't have the objective sources to know the real story or to solve the controversy but...

this film comes across as a real hatchet job.
