raymin Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Thank you for your continued support to this terrific WOV2 expansion, the time and effort by all involved, is very much appreciated. Quote

davokingy Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Right, I've just installed this, along with the VPAF expansion, over a clean install of SF2+SFV+SFE+SFE EXP2. Quick question. I've just played 3 missions of Steel Tiger, flying a Sabre '64 out of Da Nang. After two successful strike missions (somewhere in Route Package 1 I believe) I got a message that friendly ground forces had captured Cambodia! I've never seen anything like this before. (But - I've never played the Steel Tiger campaign before, I've always flown in Rolling Thunder). http://img38.imagesh...img00001ln.jpg/ I thought the front lines were supposed to be fairly static to follow the history of the war? Or is this working as designed? Centainly could make things interesting! Anyway, I thought I'd mention it in case it's a problem. Great work by the way mate Edited February 23, 2011 by davokingy Quote

malibu43 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) It looks like groundoffensiveallowed= is set to TRUE for the friendly forces in both the Steel Tiger and Easter Offensive campaigns, where it should be set to FALSE. Back up the existing ones just in case: SF2V Ground Offensive Fix 2-23-11.zip Just a word of caution - the enemy will still go on the offensive and capture target areas if you fail to perform your missions. So, it is historically accurate in the sense that the US will not advance or try to "capture" Hanoi, but it is not historically accurate in the sense that if you perform poorly, South Vietnam will be overrun. It's a limitation of the campaign engine. Edited February 23, 2011 by malibu43 Quote
davokingy Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Excellent, thanks for the quick response and fix. Just a word of caution - the enemy will still go on the offensive and capture target areas if you fail to perform your missions. So, it is historically accurate in the sense that the US will not advance or try to "capture" Hanoi, but it is not historically accurate in the sense that if you perform poorly, South Vietnam will be overrun. It's a limitation of the campaign engine. OK, I can live with that. It gives me an added incentive to perform well during missions. Again, thanks for this expansion, it's frikkin' awesome. Quote

Einherjer Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I have installed the expansion pack - and it works but i have no cockpits in 3rd party planes like the A-6A or the A-1 ... Help :( Quote
+eburger68 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Einherjer: The A-6A and A-1 are not third party aircraft. They're stock 3rdWire aircraft that are not flyable by default. If you're not seeing cockpits then you ought to review the ReadMe's installation instructions and the try the install again. Most likely you're dropping the expansion pack files in the wrong place. One other note: this file (the Sep 2011 update) is an update to the full installation, which you need installed before this update. TheReadMe contains links for the 4 packages that make up the base install for this mod. Eric Howes Edited January 5, 2012 by eburger68 Quote
Einherjer Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Ok I will try again - I have installed the other 4 packs and then the sep.11 update - all to the sf2v folder in users/name/savedgames/etc. ... Quote

malibu43 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) All, Here is something I meant to send to eburger68 for the update but forgot: A-1 NoTankJetision.rar This .rar file contains replacement _data.ini files for both the A-1H and A-1J that make it so the drop tanks cannot be jetisioned (by either the player or AI). I got tired of watching wingmen dropping tanks before making rocket, bombing, and strafing runs. The downside is that the tanks can't be jetisioned under any circumstances, but there really shouldn't be any times in S. Vietnam where the tanks need to be punched (no SAM's, no MiG's). These can overwrite the ones in the update that Eric just posted. Make sure to back up the old ones incase you don't like it. Or, if you forget to back the old ones up, you can always go into both _data.ini files and find the 3 occurrences of "NoJettisionTank=TRUE" and change it to false (or just delete it). Let me know if there are any issues. Edited January 17, 2012 by malibu43 Quote
future_tuskegee_airman Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Greetings! Thanks so much for your awesome work on this expansion back! I appreciate all the hard work your team has done to make this the most authentic & true-to-life version! I did have a question about drop tanks on the F-4 Phantom, especially naval versions. I can't seem to select tanks for any of the Phantoms that the Navy uses. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Quote
+eburger68 Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 future_tuskegee_airman: The Expansion Pack doesn't make any changes to the USN F-4 drop tanks. It uses the standard F-4 tanks that the default SF2V install uses. As to why you can't select them, I do not know. What patch level are on you on? When did this start happening? Is this a new install of the Expansion Pack? Single Missions or Campaigns? Eric Howes Quote
mynameismatt Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I seem to have this problem with the A-6's and A-7's. Any ideas what I did wrong here? The tanks seem to be loaded when not selected in the arming screen. Quote
