carrick58 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Recently I tangeled with a flight of FE2Bs Cold ducks hun? Nailed 3 of them then overshot from too much speed swinging in front of a remaining Fe2B and he fired a short burst 10 Rds ? Anyway 2 bullets hit my pilot so I landed. The point being should he have still been left kicking with two 8 mm Rds in him. ? I fully expected the red curtain and loss of control, but it did not happen. 2nd Question how long should I keep him down time wise? The bullets couldnt have been good for him! Thanks Quote
catch Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Flesh wounds luckily. 3 weeks rehabilitation with Nurse Gerta. Quote
+Olham Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hihihi!! There was one British or Canadian pilot at the end of the war, who fought several Fokker D VII in a Sopwith Snipe (I think it was). You all surely know his name; I can't remember him right now. The guy had been shot through a leg and an arm (maybe more!), and he fought on! He fainted two or three times, only came alive again through the rush of air, when he descended fast. He made it down and could land the crate. I think, Catch's "verdict" is quite fair, Carrick . (although I don't know nurse Gerta; I only heard of nurse Gladys). Quote
Creaghorn Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) when i hear my pilot getting hit, i land as quickly as possible. then i roll two ordinary 6 eyed dices. if both dices have the same eyes, then i consider him maimed. if not, i count them together. one point is one week. so he might get maimed or he might get wounded from 3 weeks up to 11 weeks. and this amound of days i advance manually. i rather advance manually day by day because i can still follow the progress and fates of my mates, and i can read all the news (in hospital or back at home) appearing Edited March 1, 2010 by Creaghorn Quote

William George Barker, Canadian (201Sqn), on October 27, 1918. These were the four last of his fifty kills, that earned him the VC. Quote
+Olham Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Good idea with the dice, Creaghorn. William George Barker indeed, Capitaine Vengeur; thank you. Are you an OFF Pilot already? If yes: please send me a PM with your town; I'd like to add you to our OFF Forum Pilots Maps. If not: Get it - you won't regret a single cent! Quote

+Olham Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Now I may risk to get my first warning for ungentlemanly (but typical manly) behaviour here, but what about this one? You won't want to recover too soon. Quote
zoomzoom Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Just curious.......how could you tell he was hit by 2 rounds? I'd like to know so I can add a realism element here as Creaghorn mentioned myself. ZZ. Quote

+RAF_Louvert Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 . How true Olham. Throughout history men have been taking risks where women are concerned, the biggest of which being when we first say, "Hello". . Quote
