Updated Default SF2 Terrain by Piecemeal V 1.2

Recommended Posts

Weird huh? I just couldn't get it to work any other way. It would load using the GERMANYCE cat but the tiles were all cattywumpus.( I believe thats the technical term) And higglty pigglty too. but anyway it works and its great. Thanks :drinks:

Did you load it into SF2 only?

Well that why you had so many issues. It uses the desert.cat from SF2.

Tried and I like it! Really good rework of original, with all the additional targets and objects. DS tileset fits nicely too! :clapping:

bombing supplies in the downtown is a joy! :good:

That's strange, since the tree.lod is included in the terrain file.

Just to be sure; here's the tree object file:

TREES.rar

Unzip this and throw the contents of the 'TREES' folder into the 'DESERT3' terrain.

Hej, thanks buddy! I must have gone blind:oops: Now I definitely spotted some palm trees here and there. I guess I just got used to farmlands heavily populated with trees from TK's desert terrain, while your desert 3.0 looks like a proper desert :) Once again a big thank you!:good:Desert 3.0 and updated campaigns gave the underdog SF2 a second life!

Actually you might be interested to know that I'm working on an update for this terrain as I speak. Keep an eye open for it over the next month or so

it's a game issue caused by the pit1 lods. There's no fix for it, this side of TK. There are other shadow issues with terrain objects as well, but that's the most noticable

Best advice: go through the targets ini, line by line, and replace the pit1 with something innocuis (sp?), like oildrum1

Actually I've found even better way to deal with it - Castshadow=FALSE in pit1.ini solved it pretty well. No shadow's better than borked shadow :]

I like that even better! The pit1 DO have uses!

But only some of them, right? Some ships (almost all of them) and "groundobject" were not included (as i've checked in desert3_types.ini)...., or maybe I was wrong?blink.gif

Hi

I just got SF2 after years away and downloaded your terrain and the campaigns for it. I haven't played SF1/WOV/WOE in ages, so I'm probably forgetting something very basic, but I can't get your terrains or campaigns to show up. I put the terrain in the game's Terrain folder (and also made a mod folder to see if that fixed the problem - it didn't) and it isn't showing up. My terrain folder only has desert.cat and the DESERT3 folder.

I also didn't see a campaigns folder, but I made one in the mod folder. Still nada.

Any help from anyone?
