Derk 265 Posted August 25, 2010 Funny thing, before seeing this, I litterally just put down the phone after a chat with a bussiness relation about planes with chutes and I have recently flown a Cirrus for an hour or so that has the same system........ He didn´t say it was ever used this way, however. Yeah, I have heard of the drag 'chute being used in emergencies like that. The idea is that it pulls the tail up in a flat spin, pointing the nose down so the spin becomes recoverable.
