And for all the other ranks Corporals and below it should read :-

Puts the buildings that God moves back in the correct Place.

Puts the trains back on the track.

Puts the Bullets back in the Magazine.

Unfreezes the water to make the coffee for God...

For lo he is the Son of God...

From the 1894 US Army Officer Guide:

"Enlisted men are basically stupid. However, they are sly and crafty and bear watching at all times."

NCO's and SNCO's run the services. They just let the occifers think that the brass does.

I found that out as a young 1st/lt in the Marines. :dntknw:

when i was with a field artillery unit in Germany, had a Platoon Sergeant who used to say that all we needed the officers for was "ink" (their signatres on paperwork). i have met a few good ones over the years, most of those were NCO's that went OCS or ROTC for more money less labor though.

It's kind of sad to me...at Thule, we ran into NCO's that fell into the "2d Lt" category of that chart, and 2d Lt's that had to, by necessity, drive themselves to be "Major"+ by that chart. Of course, we also had some NCO's (esp. my NCOIC, our KOM, and the STAN/EVAL NCOIC) that fit the "Sergeant" category of the chart too! Those NCO's were worth well more than their weight in gold.
