Why am I not suprised that it was the skyraider that was able to land after the collision?

Its a difference if your wing is damaged or your tailsection ;) You realy need your tailsection more than a part of your wing.

Skyraider proven itself once again :ok:

Frankly, I'm suprised the pilot 1)decided to bail out and 2) sustained no mayor injures at such low altitude.

Glad to see the pilots survived, but it's still tragic to lose a Mustang.

Another reason I am not impressed with with close proximity flying -- close to other craft OR the ground -- unless the mission or training for that mission demands it. Flying fancy shows is not one of the missions.

WTF? It was an airshow. And civilian owned aircraft. What mission??

Jeff, as I see it, Lexx was refering to flying in general, not the Duxford case

Yea, burns me right up. Throwing away good airplanes, and risking good lives too -- not just the stupid flying near other craft or the ground when they don't have to -- but potential victims or property on the ground too.

Nice find! That picture is pretty clear!

Must admit I was watching a Hawker Hunter display team with gritted teeth last weekend - and thinking whether they should be sticking to solo shows.

That wouldn't be the HHA would it?

They call themselves Team Viper - after an old Rolls Royce jet engine
