Hello,

I'm working to improve the stock Mirage 5F and I need the help of the one of the INI masters of Combatace.

I would like to remove the attachment point of the outside pylon (in the red circle of the screenshot).

So I have two questions :

1 : is it possible ?

2 : if it's possible, how can I do it ?

Thanks.

I've done the same thing on my Phantom 'ADC' where I only wanted air-to-air missiles. You'll need to open up the LOD and find the mesh name.

For the record, this what TK called those parts on the F-4E;

Component[012]=LeftInnerRailSwayBrace

Component[013]=RightInnerRailSwayBrace

completly remove, as in using the 'hide mesh trick'? or just not have something loaded there?

is it possible - very! and pretty easy too!

how to do it - we need to know exactly WHAT is to be accomplished

look in the 5fs data ini, the pylon mesh should be named

[LeftOuterWingStation]

SystemType=WEAPON_STATION

StationID=1

StationGroupID=1

StationType=EXTERNAL

AttachmentPosition=-3.07,-2.28,-0.67

AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0

LoadLimit=500

AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,RP,IRM

AttachmentType=NATO,UK,FRANCE

ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_L

PylonMass=30.0

PylonDragArea=0.02

LaunchRailNodeName=missile_rail_L

LaunchRailHeight=0.16

LaunchRailMass=25

[RightOuterWingStation]

SystemType=WEAPON_STATION

StationID=2

StationGroupID=1

StationType=EXTERNAL

AttachmentPosition= 3.07,-2.28,-0.67

AttachmentAngles=0.0,-3.0,0.0

LoadLimit=500

AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,RP,IRM

AttachmentType=NATO,UK,FRANCE

ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_R

PylonMass=30.0

PylonDragArea=0.02

LaunchRailNodeName=missile_rail_R

LaunchRailHeight=0.16

LaunchRailMass=25

Tell us what you're want to do, and I should be able to tell you how to do it.

I think he woul like to remove the "bomb holders" only, not the complete pylon,

so that there is only the missle rail and pylon, without the bomb holders.

So do I, Soulfreak, and here is a cure Ludo:

[AircraftData]

......

Component[008]=braceL

Component[009]=braceR

[braceL]

ParentComponentName=outer_wing_L

ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_brace_L_ok

DestroyedNodeName=outer_pylon_brace_L

DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE

HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE

[braceR]

ParentComponentName=outer_wing_R

ModelNodeName=outer_pylon_brace_L01_ok

DestroyedNodeName=outer_pylon_brace_L01

DetachWhenDestroyed=TRUE

HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE

That will permanently delete the braces and if bombs are loaded that eyecandy will be missing. The braces can be made loadable through the loadout file, if made into fake weapons. I can do it for you during the weekend, if you're interested, or unless someone comes up with a better solution.

Sorry, my explanations were not very clear...

Carlo, you read in my mind :good:

Svetlin : it works !!! French Mirage 5 carried only air to air missile or ECM on these pylons, so no need to do more.

The test flights will begin soon (if there are volunteers to try this french bird... just tell me)

Thanks to all

if he wants to remove the bombs, just delete BOMB from the hardpoint data, rewrite the loadout ini to reflect IRMs only.

Without bombs loaded, the braces won't show. That's standard practice in all 3W models. It would just use the missile rail (that's the reason, for instance, if you remove the stuff on the loadout screen, the pylons disappear whence in-game)

It don't get any easier than that!

Wrench, for some reason I don't get, that did not work for me.

The braces used to appear no matter the type of weapon loaded on the pylon or listed in the hardpoint data. :dunno:
