Phil56 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 You probably know about this: The Mission Type I'd like to create a new mission type: Intercept. Yeah I love to pursue the gigant bombers . How I can create one or is there one yet made? Quote
KJakker Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 In the data.ini file for each aircraft under [MissionData] is the entry called "PrimaryRoles=" just add the word "INTERCEPT" to the roles listed and you should be fly intercept missions. Quote
+JonathanRL Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Wings over Vietnam / SF2: Vietnam does not have Intercept available in stock, as such - above option will not work. You will need to enable it. Go to VietnamSEA.ini - it is found in the Terrains folder. Find this line [AllowedMissionTypes] There is a list that should look like this. FriendlyMissionTypes=SWEEP,CAP,ESCORT,INTERCEPT,STRIKE,SEAD,RECON,ANTI_SHIP EnemyMissionTypes=SWEEP,CAP,ESCORT,INTERCEPT,STRIKE,SEAD,RECON,ANTI_SHIP Add ,INTERCEPT to both in the same manner as the other missions. Done. Edited November 28, 2012 by JonathanRL Quote
Phil56 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 I opened the VietnamSEA.ini I did not find the [AllowedMissionTypes] lines... Quote
KJakker Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Copy and past the entry below into the the VietnamSEA.ini file. [AllowedMissionTypes] FriendlyMissionTypes=SWEEP,ESCORT,STRIKE,SEAD,ARMED_RECON,RECON,ANTI_SHIP EnemyMissionTypes=SWEEP,CAP,ESCORT,RECON,ANTI_SHIP Then add INTERCEPT to the "FriendlyMissionTypes" line followed by, as specified above, to the aircraft you want to fly intercept in and then see if it works. KJakker Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Odd, I thought it would. Take a look at this. http://combatace.com/index.php/topic/12103-basic-ini-editing-mission-data/ Also it looks like you overwrote the [WeatherChance] lines in the file. You might want to delete that file and re-extract it. Quote
+Wrench Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 allowed mission types is SF2 only the only way to get Intercept missions is to NOT use WoV as the base game install. It does not contain the dlls necessary to generate them. OTH, SF1, WoE and WoI DO Quote
KJakker Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I did not realize that WoV was different from SF1 & WoE with regard to Intercept missions. Something new to remember. Quote
Phil56 Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 So how I can use INTERCEPT for WOV? Are some dlls can I use for WOV? Please help me Quote
+Gepard Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Fly a MiG in a campaign. Thats the only way i know. Quote
Phil56 Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Is any possibility to convert from SP2 to SP1 (using the ANSI to UNICODE) for using intercept mission type? Quote
+Wrench Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 no get WoE, copy/paste the VietnamSEA.cat to a /Terrain folder and viola! Quote
Phil56 Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Anyone can send me the VietnamSEA.cat from WoE please to my e-mail? Quote
Phil56 Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 Is there a substitute that I can use, I mean in the combatACE site? Quote
+FastCargo Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 No...it is part of the core files. Your best option is to buy Wings Over Europe. Second best (ie more expensive) is to buy SF2 Vietnam. FC Quote
Phil56 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Do you thing if I modify other terrain add on would work?? Quote
+Wrench Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 no not at all "core files" mean "built into the game engine" Quote
Phil56 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 OK, sorry for being too insistent, do you think I can use the INTERCEPT "feature" creating msn missions? Quote
