Wrench 9,858 Posted May 8, 2013 in some of the mods I've been sitting on, many partly completed, for DAT Allied aircraft? In particular, for the ETO? I've been sitting on a buttload of stuff for a number of years since they went their own way; mostly for the Beaufighters (example screenie below), but for the Beaufort as well (although the torp is giving me some "issues" -both the standard type, and the NA-tweeked 'cruise missile torpedo') Many have partly completed skins, all need new decals, FM work and so forth. mind you, since not everyone can access their downloads to acquire the aircraft LODs, those that can't are left in the cold. But for those that can, whadda all think?? thanks!
+allenjb42 4,234 Posted May 8, 2013 Would love to see this stuff. The 'new' EAW terrain gave me an excuse to set up an SF2 WW2 ETO install and delete my SF1 version so the more SF2 compliant stuff available the better! BTW does anyone have any SF2 screens suitable for a WW2 ETO install?
+Cliff7600 1,148 Posted May 8, 2013 Same here, I'd like to use what you did for the Beaufighter. I'm still in Wox.

Wrench 9,858 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) as to screens, I just use the set of generic SF2s I made some years ago (templates are in the Tools/Utilites section of the SF2 dowloads) if you want a main screen -albeit not the best-, you can use this jpg. Since SF2 uses jpg for its menu screens... aces: have you tested those downloads? cause they ain't working, brother! one of the advantages of being able to make one's OWN templates ... good news is they'll all stay in bmp format, so usable in either series. however, some of ini work (avionics, decal randomization, destroyed models and some FM parameters) won't be available in SF/Wo*. Expecially the NA statements for (cruisemissile) torps and other oddball stuff Edited May 8, 2013 by Wrench
Wrench 9,858 Posted May 8, 2013 oipps fogot.. the short list goes eomthing like this: A-20G (almost ready!) (by inference, Boston IV -- have to start fresh on that) Beaufort Beau 1 Beau NF 1 Beau 10 Beau TFX Beau 6 (maybe - need to do more research on it) btw, does anyone have a ACCURATE round count for the 20mm and 303s?? I did a "WAG" and gave them 60 rpg 20mm 375 rgp 303 cal
+Cliff7600 1,148 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) 60 rpg 20mm They used 60 rounds drums until the 400th Beaufighter, after they switched to linked belt. But the question remains, how many rounds... Edited May 8, 2013 by Cliff11
usafphantom2 19 Posted May 8, 2013 (edited) Yes! Esp Those A-20's and Bostons you've got those skins for!But yes everything!Did you ever have a chance to check on that Sunderland to see if it could be finnished? I belive some of the RAF Bostons had a couple of 20mm cannons,Those forward blisters on the fuselage under nose glazing. Wrench 9,858 Posted May 9, 2013 Those forward blisters on the fuselage under nose glazing were 303s (4 to be exact, same placement on AAF A-20/A/B/C and Ada DB7s, excepthing they were French 7.5mm) Solid nosed Gs carried 4 20mms at the start (for like maybe 6 weeks) before they were swapped out for 50 cals due to vibration/feed/and other reliabitly issues. AND they carried 2 50 cals in the side blisters

usafphantom2 19 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) AcesFakia those skins are for CFS3. And there are screens in the SF1 downloads section might take a little hunting but they're there. Edited May 11, 2013 by usafphantom2
