Thinking aloud... av8bplus might be able maqueradeing as the Yak-48

if you mean the yak 141 freestyle. there is already one. if i type in yak-48 in google i get i airliner^^

the su-25naval version would be the best solution of the problem but......nobody had done it :-(

the 141 can be a close range fleet defender, but the av8bplus looks more suitable for ground pounding, regardless of numbering. True 48 is airliner, we can use 124 and from there there is not a big jump to the current 130.

The Paran Navy is still searching for a CAS plane

the plane is barely needed, because tensions are rising in the region after the islamic revolution in dhimar in 1991

following contenders are in: A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair, A-6 Intruder, Buccaneer, Yak-141, Mig-27(what if naval version), Su-17(what if naval version), Super Etendard, classified russian project

first contenders demonstrated the abilties in Paran:

simple ini edits, both to the avionics and data ini

hooks can easily (still) exist in a 'vitural' state, as I've used on my fake SN Mig-27K

add to Fuselage section:

SystemName[0**]=Tailhook

add in landing gear region of data ini:

[Tailhook]

SystemType=ARRESTER_HOOK

MaxDeflection=45.0

Retractable=TRUE

DeployTime=2.0

ModelNodeName=landing_hook

HookArmLength=2.32

AttachmentPosition=0.0,-6.77,-0.15

this work perfectly on TK's stock 27 (model node name is left over from the Scooter I took it from)

In Alexander Zuyev's book "Fulcrum - A top gun pilot's escape the Soviet Empire", Zuyev (who had many hours in the MiG-23) stated that the '23 had terrible stall characteristics and a resultant high-landing speed, and was found wholly unsuitable for conversion into a carrier-based aircraft.

Despite this, OKB Mikoyan kept pushing the concept, with the result that several prototypes were lost and several pilots badly injured during tests.  The one good thing that came out of that program, was proof that zero-zero ejection seats actually did function (and saved lives) as intended,
