MigBuster Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Well - call me Mr pessimistic Remember that little "surprise" we had for the DCS crowd? well here it is: Announcing the Mirage 2000C for DCS, with a superb model from Metal2Mesh (creators of some of the finest models around) we´ll bring to DCS this magnificent product. We have learned so much during the T-2 development process that we decided to move forward with this high performance and high profile fighter. Does this means we cancelled the T-2? not at all, gentlemen, it´s just being moved aside for the time being. But enough of the chatter, let´s put some pics here!..Also, we´ll have another big DCS surprise shortly, regarding other models being readied for DCS, all these will have an AFM , aiming for the highest fidelity possible, in a combat simulator.Gentlemen, we officially announce, the RAZBAM Mirage 2000C for DCS https://www.facebook.com/RazbamSims 1 Quote

Seriously, sometimes we are in the hands of ED and the continuous evolving of DCSW, the bright side of this is that they are there, waiting for the right time. The M2000C was moved forward over the T-2 for various reasons, sometimes we have to make a big business decision and we took it for the M2000C, UNLESS something unforseen by us happens, this bird will hit the DCS skies this very same year. Best regards Prowler By Timghetta (Metal2Mesh): http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1993808&postcount=11 Right now we are doing the systems in the FSX version. Meanwhile the DCS version will be after we finish the AFM. Then we will start work on the DCS systems. By that time we should be finished with the FSX version systems. which will allow us to use the HUD, VTB(Radar), WPN panel, and INS navigation of the FSX version and apply that knowledge with all the bells and whistles of the high fidelity that DCS can offer. We are doing the Mirage 2000C (S-5) which has the RDI radar. Don't get it confused with the Mirage 2000-5, that is an entirely different aircraft. This Mirage is basically an AA interceptor, with very limited AG capabilities. It has the classic cockpit look with FBW abilities. We have pilots, mechanics, and former officers that know this aircraft very well. Offering what ever information they can. And some pics: Edited March 19, 2014 by SilverDragon 1 Quote

SilverDragon Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 More RAZBAM Mirage 2000C https://www.facebook.com/RazbamSims/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED The BLG-66 Belouga cluster bomb is now functional. While smaller in size to the MK-20 Rockeye it is heavier. BLG-66 / MK-20 Mass: 290 Kg vs 222 Kg Bomblets: 151 / 247 Bomblet mass: 1.3 Kg / 0.59 Kg This means that the BLG-66 bomblet carries a bigger punch. The images are from a test flight. +Crusader Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Who's having fun with the Mirage jet ? It isnt fully finished yet, afaik. Quote
+streakeagle Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I don't think any DCS aircraft is ever finished. But the Mirage was released in a fairly good state for such a modern/complex aircraft and continues to steadily improve. I don't fly it a lot, mainly just some instant action dogfights or some cold start/taxi/takeoff/landing type missions just to explore/enjoy the flight model of a true delta. Quote
+Crusader Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 The devs must have had fun programing the UNI and the other French avionics specialties Quote
MigBuster Posted August 25, 2017 Author Posted August 25, 2017 Seems very good quality to me - plenty of new systems to learn. Quote
+streakeagle Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I have at various times chosen one or two DCS aircraft to focus on learning, while flying the others intermittently for fun. I have not focused on the Mirage 2000, yet. I also have never studied it the way I know the Vietnam era fighters or the US teen fighters. So I can't really judge how realistic the Mirage 2000 is. I can just say that it looks and feels good when I fly it. Quote
MigBuster Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 Bleeds energy in a turn - that is about it I think https://hushkit.net/2016/10/13/mirage-2000-pilot-interview-cutting-it-in-the-electric-cakeslice/ More seriously the cockpit layout reminds me a bit of the F-16A and there are a few switch functions similar to that. Toryu Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Speaking of the "straight up at 60kts" episode: One of the coolest features of the M2k has to be it's relatively crappy engine. The M53 is a single-spool turbofan (!) with a very modest pressure-ratio accross the compressor, which incidentally makes it almost stall-proof. Also, it should make the engine very responsive, especially in the later production-lots which are FADEC controlled. Ed Rasimus once wrote a story of him flying a simulated attack mission against Madrid in his Torrejon-based F-4C. He was intercepted by a spanisch Mirage IIIEE and the little Mirage was all over him at high altitude, despite the (also) relatively crappy Atar 9C engine. Simplicity is a weapon at times. Quote
+streakeagle Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Well, the Israeli's liked their Mirages upgraded to J79s :) Quote
Toryu Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Got your point, but it wasn't really an upgrade - more of a replacement. Performance-wise, they should have invested in the Avon-version, though. Mirages generally seem to take engine "upgrades" rather well: The MIII got to be insane on Avon-steroids. The F1 really got going with an M53 and very much later with an RD-33. Quote
