+Dave Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Anyone notice that you have to trim the hell out of the DCS planes. That has been one of my irritations since before LOMAC. It also seems like trimming doesn't always work. Am I the only one here with that issue? Quote
+EricJ Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 So far the new version of the Su-27, as you have to trim the shit out of it to get a decent setting, but the others don't take as much to me. Quote
+streakeagle Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 The Su-27 is pretty much the only one I bother to trim. All the others I can think of require minimal effort to move the stick just a tiny bit... if you don't count helos, which have that special trim function to relieve stick pressure. Quote
ironroad Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Yep, the stick never stays centered and all the new FCS does is fight you by automatically throwing it too much rudder. But what I do like is now that weapons do affect trim. What has helped me was to turn my POV thumb switch into my trim button (kind of like in real life). Quote
+EricJ Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) I do the same but overall I use modifiers (and in that case the Su-27 always activates Sticky Keys, mainly due to me but...) as most of the time I keep the default mapping to weapons controls, i.e. Mavs for the A-10A. Though for the Su-33 and Su-27 I use modifiers as my default hat switch is for padlock and countermeasures/ECM. Edited November 18, 2014 by EricJ Quote
+Dave Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 I am constantly trimming all the planes. Which sucks because it makes them hard to control when do a strafing run or trying to line up a gun shot. I get sick of trying to keep them trimmed right all the time. Quote
+EricJ Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Check your curves as when I started DCS I was all over the place with the Su-33 and tweaked my curves and it's fairly stable. Same thing when I first did online with the Su-27, all over the place and couldn't do a gun run to save anybody's life, so after some curves tweaks it was more stable. 1 Quote

+ST0RM Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yes here too. I hate the new trim on the Huey, and found out it was optimized for FF sticks after a few patches. Seems the FM for the F-15 also suffers. Too twitchy and tail heavy. The A-10A though, is pretty stable. -S Quote
+MigBuster Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 A lot of trimming in DCS - I generally put up with it. Quote
