that said there was new cool Sea Fury model in development, and I wonder where did that one go?

I have it (somewhere!), Unfortunately, it stlll needs work, that can only be done in MAX. Animations for wing fold, canopy, etc. Skinning work (decals is easy)

we're not talking about Simon Porters from 2005, but Skippybings from 2011

 

paulopanz did a bang up job on reskinning simon's quite a while ago

I just tested it and it's ok IMO, with Wyvern cockpit as a stand-in (very close stand in!)

 

the max file has all the animations in it, of course refering to Skippy's version


if time permits I'll test Brain32's F-84 cockpits tomorrow or Sunday and if these are ok I have a go from him to upload them

ID are, as per model keyframes, you should know better how it corresponds to Animation IDs in data:

0-10 no anim

10-20 canopy slide

20-30 unused?

30-40 landing gear (main1) and small cool ladder release

40-50 landing gear damper

50-60 flaps

60-70 cowl flaps (?) -those small after the exhaust tubes anyway AND tail gear

70-80 unused

80-90 wings fold

90-100 tailhook

 

hope that helps, it's from file "Sea Fury Bump Spec.max" dated 2012-07-09

 

anyway there was ton of good stuff for KAW that was never released to my puzzlement

 

edit:

I think it goes like this: 0-10 = ID1 10-20 = ID2 and so on, have been ages since I was fiddling with plane model

If any of you guys have stuff please please upload.

 

There's enough material to piece things together even if it's somewhat incomplete, so it's like... a 3D model and a skin will do. (Even no skin and no one takes it I'd take a shot.)

Don't rush Do335, there is indeed some stuff in variuos states, but it's better to have it pokished.

 

also if I were you I'd wait with putting up such all in one package now

Stary, the pack is already out. Updating it like daily tho, atm ground war for campaign and data ini fix-me-ups with Lodviewer. Plus test whatever is released and add them in ofc.
 

But I think Wrench and FastCargo and maybe others have goodies hidden on HDDs.

But don't really mind, what's already available is pretty amazing. As for polishing, hey I can help. Not modelling and skinning is reaching. The rest totally can do.

 

 

Like say what happened to the F-84, it looked OK from the screenie.

afaik, FC and some other were trying to finish their Meteor F.8.

 

I have (alexs?) max files and a "very early" in-game version of his B-45 Tornado

 

the aforementioned sea fury (skinned and decaled for 802 NAS) as mentioned, needs animations figured out for canopy and wingfold; lights all need dialing in (lights not a big deal)

yeah the same I tested yesterday

 

the max files I got are newer though; light are no issue I think. might check their positions in max Wrench

so, the date of your lod is what??  mine is "SeaFuryHighRes.LOD", dated  1/19/2011

 

I don't have the Sea Fury max files (not that I could do anything with them, other than open them in MAX and view -- still haven't started learning HOW to use Max2009)

 

I finished dialing in the lights this afternoon. the hard way...

 

also, using this lod, and mue's new viewer, I don't see any anims assigned for wing or canopy

mine LOD is same as yours, I just don't see a point of having amination for folding wings..? Maaaybe you can make this work on a carrier deck, right?

 

I will see if there is much of a work to fix the max file I have and reexport

Here is the most recent Seafury FM. Should be the same as the one I sent you. [Version 1.0] I gave it a quick test and the wings fold fine [shift 9] and the parked Seafurys show up on deck with wings folded. The canopy is on shift-0. [you're a busy guy, I know!]   Sea_Fury_DATA-V1.0.zip    Not sure about the lights on this one, don't throw out your current data.ini!

the Seafury I'd gotten from you eailer, the whole package, iirc, was Simons. But I'll definatelly check this one out.

 

I tested it (the skippybing one) on the CVs yesterday, and it flips over and blows up before falling though the deck and sinking. Most assuredly needs more work!

Possible carrier issue? The Skippybing Seafury I have installed has been very well behaved. Here's a screen shot onboard a Colossus class carrier:

your data ini fixed the carrier issue (except for landings .. on autopilot and AI, they just float over the deck, and bounce off into the sea. but that, I'm sure, is just fine tuning of something somewhere in there!)

and the wings and canopy still don't work.  wonder if it's the missing 3 lods?? Can you shoot those too me?
