+Geezer 3,569 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Shots of two CR42 updates being tested. Ground attack racks and bombs, plus Belgian camo for baffmeister's BoB mod. The camo looks odd up close, but works pretty good at a distance. EDIT: The CR42 was not equipped to carry bombs in 1940, I'm just testing both on one model because its easier. +Geezer 3,569 Posted January 27, 2016 Some time ago, LloydNB suggested an intruder version with wheel spats removed. He recently tested the prototype and found the tail wheel sunk into the ground. A quick revision to the data file fixed the problem...it should get released in the near future, along with the 1930s bomb pack. what about Stary's 'generic' cockpit pack ... there's one that's a "Italian" cockpit below is cockpit #2, his #4 is an open pit Thanks for the suggestion! I don't have time or motivation to make elaborate cockpits anymore, so I'll look into using Stary's stuff.
+Coupi 4,400 Posted January 27, 2016 Hello, I didn't know this variant! I like it!!! Best regards, Coupi.
Silberpfeil 363 Posted February 11, 2016 Geezer - did you do something special with the CR42's pilot? Everything seems to work OK when I start the simulation "In Air", or "Near Target", but when I start at "Airfield", the pilot doesn't show. What am I missing? The pilot should either work, or not work - aircraft location should not be a factor. Maybe some other guys know something I don't and can answer your question? Silberpfeil 363 Posted February 12, 2016 OK, I've investigated a little bit more, and you're correct. The pilot is there on external views (regardless of "In Air", "Near Target", or "Airfield"), but not there when using "free camera" Ctrl-F12. Even more interesting, the same thing seems to occur when flying in my Palestine and Italy installs, but not in the Cambrai or Verdun or North Sea or Galicia installs, and I've checked using a variety of other aircraft with their pilots to confirm. Never noticed this before, so I guess some more investigation is in order...anyway, I wanted to get back to you as it doesn't appear to be specific to the CR42's pilot! +Geezer 3,569 Posted February 12, 2016 Working on upgrades to the CR42. When the Glad and CR42 are as good as it gets - right now - I'll work with LloydNB and Baffmeister to make the SF2 releases. Shot below shows progress on the Belgian camo job for the 1940 CR42, flying over a test 1024 tile in Gterl's Italian Front map.
+Geezer 3,569 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) More development shots of the Belgium camo. Note I am not trying to match colors to Gterl's game map, it just happens when aircraft and game map colors are realistic. +Geezer 3,569 Posted February 13, 2016 For grins and giggles, I altered the brown to one of the other variants used by the Regia Aeronautica, and switched to low-visibity, late war markings. As you can see, the Italians employed VERY sophisticated camouflage concepts.
