It became amphibious.:D For the JF-17 it is true, I didn't know it is developed from the fishbed either until a friend pointed it out. Tech and trade embargo from both the west and soviet union since the 60s prevented access to any advanced tech. So everything since then till the early 2000s mostly originates from the mig-21.
